heh I love it if he's the good brother I know he likes doing the darker stuff and he's good at it but what makes an actor interesting is -as it is with any hero (aka idol)- the battle of light and dark in them. it would get boring if he only did the darker stuff.

We have a character name now for Chris, Buddy Heckum. That's an unusual one. He sure doesn't look like a Buddy.

You're mixing them up. In this one, Chris is a cop and his brother (Anton) is a drug dealer.

The director's webpage for the movie

Right now there's a statement on how the shooting took place and how the movie is now ready. So I guess they're looking for a distributor now? There's also pics from set but they're mostly of the scenery, locations and director. I think I saw Chris' sideprofile on one of those pics but I'm not sure. I'm sure in the future they'll add some stills from the movie and videos. there are two youtube videos now but they don't work for me.

OK, cool. Now I think I finally understand what this movie is actually about. And it sounds like a great story...

Having left his border town as a child after the death of his father, young music prodigy Jacob Heckum (Yelchin) returns to his desolate hometown after years to discover that Buddy (Marquette), the child-like brother he left behind, now works for a drug gang. Buddy is under the spell of the gang’s ruthless leader Julius (D’Onofrio), and Jacob soon realizes the only way to save his brother is from the inside out, and he joins their deadly fraternity. Jacob and Buddy’s loyalty to each other has always been absolute, but it has never faced a challenge like Julius, and the stakes have never been life and death.

New release date is now slated for April 10, 2015. Amazon.co.uk already lists the DVD, but no details yet. I think it's safe to assume it'll go straight to DVD, right?
