Mel, they shot some of Pitch Perfect in Georgia. I was trying to figure out what college radio station they were using during the whole thing. Dave said it was not Album 88, WRAS out of Georgia State because he's seen that studio. Guess it must've been WREK or WRFG.

Finished Melancholia and highly recommend it. Beautifully depressing film if that makes sense? But the first part is hard to watch for those that suffer with depression, but for some odd reason even with the ending in near it felt like they were surviving. Really interesting. Would l0ve to discuss it with someone. I'm the last in the family to watch it and everyone (now that's 9 people) liked it. So definately worth looking into, very slow and be assured of what you are getting into alone with the title 'Melancholia.' Don't watch it on a sunday night when your anxious like I did!

I saw it a few months back. You're right about the first hour. It really gets interesting after that though. And I thought the ending was amazing. I was left with a tumult of mixed feelings. I kind of want to see it again, now that I know what's going to happen. It's pretty tense the first time. You feel the same dread the characters do. It would probably be less intense the second time around and I'd be able to analyze it a bit more. One thing that struck me though, since I watched it during election season.... This is what the end of the world looks like for the 1%.

I agree about the sense of dread built from the characters...and interesting to note about the end of the world scenario. That movie stuck with me for a few weeks. I'd like to see it again but not for a while! With the Asteroid hitting Russia and the flyby last week it was coincidental that I watched Melancholia only a week before!
I saw Beautiful Creatures and really enjoyed it. I had no idea of the plot and or who was in it so I didn't have any expectations. I just wanted to get out of the apartment and that was about the only movie out I wanted to see today. It was really entertaining, great characters, a little melodramatic but not too bad. I'm curious to read the books now.

I watched End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal and really enjoyed it actually. The director did a movie a while back about drug trafficking that I really enjoyed - if you want to know about it that's the movie to see. This movie is more from the cop's perspective on things of that nature. Still a rough movie to watch but not as rough as the first one. I need to recall the title...

I saw "42" on Saturday. It's amazing how many great people are in it. TR Knight has a great little part and he's wonderful in it. He gets a few really funny lines. Also from Grey's, they hired The Chief. And then they had Lucas Black playing PeeWee Reese, which was pure awesome. And ironically he was in the Friday Night Lights movie, while the cast also included Derek Phillips and the dude who played the Riggins' dad in the FNL TV show. Ryan Merriman was in it too. So was Alan Tudyk. Oh yeah, and Chris Meloni.
In addition to the fact that the cast is awesome, the movie is just terrific. Really entertaining, and emotional. I loved it.

Watched "Gravity" in the theater last night. Very minimalistic in some ways, but grand in others. I liked it very much, and it's one of the films that shows you can create excellent entertainment without huge-ass explosions or crude slapstick comedy.

That's one I really want to see. Would've gone last weekend, but decided to stay home and focus on Polly. The movie will still be there this coming weekend. It's kicking ass at the box office.

I really want to see Gravity. Saw Cloudy 2 with the nephews on Sunday and it was really cute. I loved the first one as well so I highly reccomend the 2nd one if you liked the first.

I'd like to see Gravity too. The Dallas association I'm apart of is watching Gravity as their movie group this month! I look forward to seeing it.
Since I've been sick I've been couch ridden. I rented The Bling Ring that was just okay. Started off really good but lost some steam and the continuity wasn't right. I loooved Place Beyond the Pines. Great performances by everyone in the cast, especially Bradley Cooper, I can't wait to see Silver Linings Play Book!

Silver linings play book was really good but I still don't feel it was an Oscar worthy performance for Jennifer. Great flick though.

I watched Rush this weekend with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl. It was really good, not as good as Days of Thunder but a good entertaining movie to watch. Interesting story, based on real events too. I then watched Thor for the first time and really liked it! I wish I had seen it before the second, I would have enjoyed the second so much more. Chris Hemsworth is a great Thor!

I saw Blue is the warmest color few weeks back. the theater club in next town was having it for a preview one night. it was some experience to watch this partially kinda pornographic lesbian drama with two lesbians and a transgender next to me and 30 people between the ages of 40 and 70. I nearly started to laugh hysterically during the sex scenes because the audience was SO quiet the quiet was loud it was like everyone was scared to even breath out loud so everyone wouldn't think they were aroused. the movie it self was pretty good. refreshing to see these no make up beauties in HD
I've seen so many movies in the past couple of days. L!ve happens was pretty good and actually kind of realistic about being a young single mother. been there, know that. I really loved this Hong Kong style western called The Warrior's way There was this Korean dude in the lead that I had never seen before but absolutely adore now so much talent!

I liked the Hobbit a lot more than the first one. I saw it just in regular screening and it was fine and actually more enjoyable. The picture is just as clear and crisp as 3D. Recommend it. I wasn't going to see it since I didn't like the first one but some friends from church encouraged me to go. So glad I did. One dressed as a hobbit, I was kind of jealous I didn't have a costume too!

Mel, I read The Hobbit years ago and Lord of the Rings in college. Would like to read all of them again!
I saw 'American Hustle' last night. Intense movie but impeccable acting. Worth seeing just expect to be tense.

I saw The Hobbit both in 2D and 3D HFR this week. I didn't enjoy part 2 as much as part 1, and I thought the whole Super-Legolas Megahero thing was totally overdone to the point where it became ridiculous. Too much focus on the elves and too little on the dwarfs. I also saw The Hunger Games part 2 earlier this month, and enjoyed that too.

Just gotta say it... Do I love the insane amount of trouble that ridiculous little twit Sheephead has gotten himself into lately. Of course I do! ]:D ]:D
As far as this bullcrap about retiring. Come on. He will NEVER leave us alone. Ever. We're stuck with him until he kills himself doing something incredibly stupid someday.
