Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

We know there's already a thread for this in the Fan Fiction section, but maybe it's not so wrong to post it here too. Hope you forgive me for advertising our own story, but Deb and I just love it so much and put so much heart into it. The story is mainly about Joan and Adam.

The most current PG-rated version can be found here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3029235/1/

There's also an unadulterated version (R rated sexually explicit content!): http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3042947/1/

We're also working on a web version with pictures, you can find that one here: http://beam.to/joa-butterflies

WARNING! This story takes place after season 2 ends, so there will be spoilers for both seasons in this story. I don't really recommend you read it if you haven't seen the whole of season 2 yet. It's also huuuuuge. In Word the whole thing has 433 pages. yikes And we're not remotely finished yet!

Summary:
Bad news prompts Adam to turn up on Joan's doorstep in times of need, paving the way for reconnection. Very dark and very angsty at first, more and more fluffy towards the end. This is a collaboration between Sisterdebmac and TeeJay.

TeeJay's Author's Note:
This started out as a one-shot, one that I wrote, titled "Butterflies". It was this really dark, angsty piece that I didn't think was worth posting. But since both Sisterdebmac and GermanJoan kept yelling for more of my stories, I eventually sent it to them, if only to shut them up for a while. (No offense, guys, I know what it's like to be craving more stories!)

And then something amazing happened. Sisterdebmac said she was so moved and inspired by my little story here that she wrote a second chapter. Completely out of the blue. Wow. That's when this thing developed a life of its own because I kept writing to continue Sisterdebmac's storyline and she kept continuing mine, each of us feeding off each other's ideas. It's been an amazing experience. Still is. I don't think I've had this much fun writing fan fiction before. Thank you. For everything. Especially brightening my office day right around 3:30 PM every day.

Sisterdebmac's Author's Note:
What an adventure this has been! I had no idea. I hadn't even finished my very first JOA fic (The Haircut) when I read TeeJay's first chapter of what became Butterflies. But as soon as I put it down, I knew that was not going to be the end of the fic. It has been a delightful back and forth since then. And there's no end in sight yet.

Also of note, I couldn't even read fics that one might consider smut before we got started on this fic. Now, I can't seem to stop writing them! But hey, at least in our story Joan and Adam are grown-ups. Somehow it just feels right that after all this time, they wouldn't be able to keep their hands off each other. So settle in for a little angst, a little romance, a whole lot of fluff... and if you dare to delve into the R-rated version of Butterflies, some serious smut.

Once again, I must say that if not for reading and falling in love with the stories of my two favorite JOA writers, TeeJay and Tote, I would not be doing this. Thanks to both of you for all your great work! And thanks to TeeJay for the help and encouragement, and the giggles.

-TeeJay

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

Whenever.  No rush.  I don't think it'll take you long to get through them.  But you might want to rewatch some.  The ones TeeJay's sending you of S1 are yours to keep.  Mine you could keep them for say a month.

I only want them back because they're the original versions with all the music selections intact and the opening sequence in every ep.  It's important because they added Chris to the credits in the second season and because the theme song is used at punctuations of the teaser.  You'll see.  It pisses me off that CBS was too cheap to use it on every ep of both sets.  On the S1 set, you get it in the first ep of each disc.  In the S2 set, you get it once.  Once!  In the very first ep.  That's it.

No, that's the problem.  I don't have any way to burn them, so I can only *loan* then to you.

I burnt s1 and s2 for Paige. But only the AVI versions. I'm gonna send them this week. Deb, there's no need for you to send her anything.

Oh, OK.  I was trying to save you some trouble, but that's awesome!  You're soon to be all set, Paige.  And I cannot tell you how glad I am that you'll be seeing them in their original form.  Do you have good speakers?  You're really gonna want them so you can enjoy the music and Chris's deep, bassy voice.  I can recommend some great ones that have a subwoofer and only cost $20 if you want.

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

Do you remember if you've read one called Out On A Limb?  I'm not sure we released that one to you because I don't think it's considered complete, but I'm not sure.  We need to create a small chapter to go between Trials and OOAL because there's too much of a gap.  Hopefully, that won't take an ice age to complete.  Hang in there.

I think Tina showed me a part of it. I can't look it up now because I am on Cooper and I only have the newest TextOnly Version here Tina sent to me. The other stuff is still on the other computer.

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

I think it's included in that latest version.  Should be the very last chapter in there.  So you've probably read it.  We'll definitely let you skip waaaaay ahead and read the two that are connected in plot that we're working on right  now as soon as they're finished.  We just have one scene and transition left in the first one.  In the second one I just wanna get the final conversation perfected (it's almost there).  And write a sweet smut scene for it.  TeeJay's been very busy this past week and I was just uninspired and got caught up reading Laura's stuff.

Have you read all like 90 of her little vignettes?  They're awesome.  They'd certainly tide you over till we can finish something.

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

Oh, I remember. That was the one with the old girlfriend. Did not like that very much.

I skimmed through them. I might read more later, I am busy with catching up on Harry Potter at the moment. Also I have found my old notes from my Seduction & Forgiveness story, so I might give it another try. Could be difficult though since I haven't written anything for a year. And I also have another story in the works. We'll see if I ever get them finished. LOL

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

Anne, I haven't burned your stuff yet. I was out of the house a lot today, only just got home an hour ago and have been doing chores and stuff, which I still need to complete. I thought I'd have more time today, but some of those DVDs for you will have to be ripped to the hard drive first. That takes about an hour each, so it looks like you won't get the DVDs before next weekend. Sorry about that.

No need to be sorry, Tina. It's okay. Just do it when you have enough time. Do you still need a list?

Re: Butterflies - Deb and TeeJay's epic JoA fan fiction

What do you mean, are they burnable? Which ones? The JoA DVD boxes or those that I'm gonna send you? The ones I will send you will be easily burnable if you have a DVD burner. You can just copy them as they are. If I wanted to copy the original JoA DVD boxes, I'd have to use a DVD ripper like DVD Shrink to do it, you can't just copy them as they are (unless you use double layer discs, which are more expensive).
