Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Larry, of course you can link us.  It's great to see all these guys doing such great work.  Don't suppose you've decided to go to the LA Film Fest after all, have you?  I know you're kinda burned out on them right now.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Larry, yes, we'd be honored if you would link us. Go ahead. These movies you mentioned probably won't come to Germany, so I'll have to catch them on DVD. Are these indies as well? If so, they'll probably take a while to be available on DVD. If you could keep me updated about that, that would be great.

It's really amazing that these young guys are giving us so much to be impressed with. I'm sure Michael's a great guy in person. I mean, he's friends with Chris, he has to be. wink

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Excellent! I'll set that up later today.

Michael has no less than 8 films either completed and awaiting release or in production or post-production. That includes the two I mentioned as well as Choose Connor (which just debuted at CineVegas, as you know) and The Beautiful Ordinary. They are all indies, yes.

And actually, you're very lucky. All the Boys Love Mandy Lane comes to Germany October 25th!

He's one of the most positive, fun-loving actors I've ever met. Totally down to earth and unassuming. You'd never know he's one of the most prolific actors alive, going from one film to another -- an average of one every three months.

Oh wow, that's great. Is this a film festival or the theatrical release? Though if it's an indie, there's not a big chance that any theater around here shows it undubbed. And since I absolutely despise the dubbing, I usually end up not watching those movies in the theater that they're only showing dubbed. But let's see, there's a theater in Cologne that sometimes shows indies in their original language. If not, I'll wait for the DVD.

You'd never know he's one of the most prolific actors alive, going from one film to another -- an average of one every three months.

That sounds very much like what Chris was doing in 2005 and 2006. He basically went from shooting one movie to the next with only a few weeks time in between, if that much. We were glad when he took a long break at the end of 2006, the poor boy was gonna burn himself out. wink

Larry, you should read this from a Chris interview in April this year. I bet he's also talking about Michael there:

I know that you've kept friends with a lot of people that you've worked with.  Is it hard in the industry to keep friends especially out here in L.A. where a lot of people are competitive and all that stuff?

Yeah, man.  It's crazy.  It's to the point what I have realized which is nice is that I have a really close group of friends and they're all actors for the most part and they're all actors I'm up against all the time.  For the most part it's nice. You get to know somebody well enough you understand that everybody's in the same boat. You're all floating at the exact same speed. Certain projects are good for one person and they aren't good for another and that's just what happens. I've tried out for stuff that I've absolutely loved and would die to do and like my best friend has gotten it.  And it's never been anything other than like cool, man like it's you and I respect you and I'm glad that you're doing it and I'm glad that's it's a talented person doing this and it's not …it's nice because as I kid I've grown up doing this and as an adolescent it's so easy to get jealous and it's so easy to envy somebody and it's so easy for people to really turn against you over a project which after a long time you realize it's not that important. You do movies, you keep going and you do them. Some seem like a big deal and they end up doing nothing, and some seem like nothing and they end up being a big deal. You really can't tell so at a certain point your friends are the ones that matter and that's sort of how I've kept it.

Wish you could have talked to Chris at Tribeca. Well, maybe another time at another film festival or screening. (Deb, we should have asked Larry to go to the Graduation screening.....)

The Beautiful Ordinary looks really good. Is it just me or does it look kinda like Alpha Dog?

Larry's in Pennsylvania.  I don't think he would've flown to LA for that test screening even with a couple of weeks' notice.  It's a damn shame we don't have anyone in LA!

Yeah, Lizzy, it does a little bit.  But more like Dazed & Confused.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Cool pics. Uhm ... is it just me or does the director look somehow old? I mean, how old is she supposed to be? 24? My age? I don't know. I think she looks old on these pictures.

Yeah, is it that Michael wasn't there or did they just not take any pics of him? Getty Images also has some pics up. And, uhm, Larry...? <batting eyelashes> wink

I don't think they would not take pictures of him if he was there. The pictures probably aren't there yet.

The afterparty pics are already up. So whoever is in the pics is who was there.

I was actually surprised to see two friends who were NOT in the movie who were shot, which was nice. smile

I didn't look at the afterparty ones. Is MIchael not on those either?

Just go to Getty and enter "The Beautiful Ordinary" in the search field. The first group of pics there are from the afterparty. I'd post a direct link but you can't do that with Getty.
