Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

News from Tisha:

"I went to the Beautiful Ordinary premiere, I have to tell you, this is one of Christopher's and Sean's best work ever done. I couldn't believe they were my sons. Everyone's acting and the directorial debut was fantastic, but Chris and Sean really stood out. Sean was critical of his size in the film you  know that baby weight they grow out of, but he has been working out and everyone congratulated him on his role and people were looking for Chris. I hope you all somehow get to see it and have high hopes it will be distributed.

"What was so amazing was how good Chris played a total druggie dealer, and Sean his younger brother pothead.  There is also a scene where Chris acts like he is possibly going to OD, but it turns out he isn't really, but at that moment, there is a few minutes where you think something bad is going to happen to him, one of the few serious moments in the film.   At the time of the filming, Chris had gotten himself a Mohawk and it totally fit his character. And Sean as a young "Homie" totally looked the part.....Tisha"

Say, what is he doing with his hair all the time?? He sure has been experimenting with different haircuts lately... And people accuse us of being obsessed with his hair. big_smile

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

It's a weird excuse for a Mohawk though.  Looks like it's only on the back of his head, not the top.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

This is a sort of review from one of the guys at IMDb who watched the premiere at the LA Film Fest:

by uninations034

if u watch it lookin for a plot like i did the first time i saw it u'll get really confused-its basically just about the development of each of the different high school characters as they come together on the last day...like it introduces u to part of the life of each character in the beginning then it shows how theyre friends/how they kno each otha as they come together for skool and it shows them gettin themselves into different situations some that are funny and some that are dramatic/serious and so the only main plot is the last day of skool and the different storylines are based on the different characters lives

andddd so basically the movie shows how behind the different high school cliques, everybody is just a typical teenage kid who wants to belong/fit in somewhere ...like every character is equally important and all the characters interact with each other (mostly thru sex, alcohol and drugs) but the point is that the cheerleader Marnette Patterson can date Max Hoffman the nerd and everybody can get along.

Alexa's character is going into her freshman year while Khleo's and Wesley's characters are finishing junior year, and John Robinson is a senior emo guitar guy and Charles is a loner Asian photographer, Katrina is a crazy chic who's very "out there" and very very different from the crowd Brie is a bossy younger sister of a senior, Shahine is one of the jocks, Chris is the guy who thinks everything is a joke and while the other juniors and seniors are ready for college, Chris is still caught up in the laid back party scene and it causes problems for him

Personally, as a guy, The Beautiful Ordinary was pretty good for an indie wit a large cast of teens havin sex/drinkin/smokin pot, it was like "Dazed and Confused" only not quite as good and it got a little boring at times its a little too chick-flickish and its not all that "exciting" or "funny" -the festival called it a dramatic comedy and i wouldnt call it comedy at all-there's moments where u laugh like those one tree hill and the oc tv shows...but its really a drama/coming of age teenage film so its kinda quiet, slow paced, etc

-TeeJay

PS: Has Chris shot anything since Fanboys where he doesn't have the face fuzz going??

In the tiny glimpses we've seen from Choose Connor & TEOCB I think he was clean-shaven.

Don't they teach punctuation in school any more? lol

That first paragraph had to be the longest single sentence I've ever seen. Not to take away from his review, of course. tongue

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Yeah, Larry, I was tempted to say something about the spelling and the grammar too. It's a pet peeve of mine to try to spell the best I can, even when I write cell phone text messages. I usually even go back to correct earlier posts if I spot a typo. Doesn't always work in live chat, but I guess we're all allowed to be a little dyslexic when we IM, touch-typing or not. smile

I'm still really curious about the movie. Hope I'll get to see it eventually.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

No no, it wasn't from an IM, Larry. It was straight off the IMDb board. I was just saying that I'm usually very conscious about my own spelling, unless I'm IM'ing. I totally agree with you, this person should have taken another look before posting his review.
