Bugger! I was looking forward to this movie.

Hope they can sort it out...

Awesome, yep I love that episode. Every now and again I dig the tape out.

#303 Re: Chris On Screen » Freddy vs. Jason (alternative title: Crap On A Stick) » 29 Oct 06 :: 02:07

Hah. That pretty much what I paid for it, NZ$10 which converts into basically 5 euro.

#304 Re: All About Chris » If Chris Could Play Any Role... » 29 Oct 06 :: 01:57

It came to me last night. My ultimate Chris role.

My favourite book series Tomorrow When The War Began by John Marsden would make great movie/s. Of course, the movie would have to be done properly, and keep the integrity of the books, but seeing as this is something I've been wanting to see for ages, I can't think of anyone better than Chris to play one of the main characters.

The book is set in Australia which is invaded by another country, and eight 17-18yr olds are some of the few people who weren't captured straight away. So they launch guerilla warfare to help fight for their country. Bear in mind, that isn't a very good explanation, I'm just trying to give you some idea without launching into an essay about it. The books have it all, action, drama and romance in an completely un-corny and very real way.

The role I have in mind for Chris is Homer, he's 'neighbour' and best friend to the main character, Ellie, and before the war, most people had him written off as a goofball. But through the war, you see what an incredible and strong guy he is.

I would die happy if this came true. Realistically, I know the odds are slim, but that won't stop me from dreaming.

#305 Re: All About Chris » Bogus Chris blog on myspace » 28 Oct 06 :: 03:43

I just don't get why they don't just make a myspace group like Chris Marquette fans or something.

Well fine, I do "get it", but I don't agree with it.

#306 Re: All About Chris » If Chris Could Play Any Role... » 27 Oct 06 :: 09:31

Well, I'm a sap for a chick flick, and I know Chris has the talent to do so much more than chick flicks. But I'd be eternally happy if he could squeeze one into his schedule. Besides, a nice dramatic rom com would be nice variety for him smile
So now you know my secret, I'm dying to see him in a rom com. big_smile

I don't have any specific roles in mind. I also think a dramatic disaster movie, though, done right. Disaster movies can be so bland and predictable. Still... something different from anything he's done.

Oh, and I don't know if I even need to add this, but I'm meaning a lead role in both. wink

#307 Re: Chris On Screen » Calvin Marshall - CHRIS IS NO LONGER INVOLVED » 27 Oct 06 :: 09:22

Quirky. Cool. I suspect I'll like quirky more than a typical sports movie (me not being into sports an' all).

#308 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 22 Oct 06 :: 02:07

I never liked Judith much, I have to say. She's just the kind of person that irks me a bit. And yeah, taking screen time away from Grace, Adam, Luke and the others was not a small part of that. It seemed to me that the main reason for introducing Judith was to have a character they could kill off, without too much emotional connection with the audience. Kind of like a sacrificial character.

Some of the ghost stuff I felt a bit weird about, but nothing too extreme.

And as for Ryan, he's one of those guys I just got this repulsive feeling about, like he's covered in grease. He just seemed sleazy. But I could see some definate interesting prospects that could have been developed with him s3. What I really liked the idea of was Joan's army, and the possibility she'd end up telling Grace, Luke and Adam about God. And I agree with Shrams, I'd have prefered a different actor, a different persona for Joan's rival (perhaps a cuter guy wink ), I'm not really a Wentworth fan.

#310 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 19 Oct 06 :: 23:26

I have to agree with you on this one. I think TPTB missed something special and what I considered to be the point of the show but changing it to try and attract younger viewers.

I like this show, but after the s1 commentarys, which were so boring and seemed to consist of "look there's my name, oh look there's so-and-sos name weren't they wonderful, oh yes." rather than actually paying much attention to what was happening on screen. (I believe were done by Barbara Hall and James Hayman) I had reservations about the producers of this show. I love the show. Dislike the producers. Now, to hear how they tried to change it to get younger viewers and consequently sabotage the show, just reinforces my point and adds more fuel to the fire.

I may not be a stereotypical teenage tv viewer, I think I got a lot of my mindless TV watching out of the way at a very young age and now I just look for quality. I hate the OC, in my opinion it's crap. I'd rather watch a show like Joan of Arcadia or Roswell or Invasion (two of my other fav shows) with actual substance anyday.

I know a lot of people my age do seem to like shows like the OC and Laguna Beach and that melodramatic genre. But that doesn't mean a perfectly good show like JoA should be ruined in the attempt to level it more with these shows to create a younger audience. There are plenty of people, admittably mostly older, who enjoy shows like JoA and that of it's dying breed. You've got to leave us something!

#311 Re: Joan of Arcadia » JoA season two on DVD » 19 Oct 06 :: 02:59

I didn't even notice they cut the opening credits in the s1 dvd. That's really weird, I would of thought I'd have noticed. I do like the opening credits...gets me into the programme.

Oh God, now I wanna live in that paralell universe where they didn't cancel JoA ...  And Huff, of course.

So many times I've wished that JoA wasn't cancelled. Two seasons isn't enough...:(
I gotta stop thinking about this, every time it just makes me angry and upset. God, I need to move on!

Sadly, I'm used to all my favourite Tv shows being cancelled. mad I don't watch much tv anymore...

#313 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 17 Oct 06 :: 06:21

Yeah, during that interogation scene, I went from being mad at Adam for what he did to being mad at Joan for yelling at him and back and forth. Quite exhausting. But Adam being upset... that's good stuff.

Seriously. I just check in here and find out that you two have just met Chris! Freakin hell. This is awesome. You totally deserve it to, with all the time you put into promoting Chris through the website and everything. smile

I'm still really excited about this, I was going to go to sleep, but good luck now. Wow, can't wait to see the interview and photos.

I'm Susanna, you'll notice I don't post as much as the others, but I love Chris.
I'm from New Zealand, by the way.

Wow, that sounds really cool.  at least it seems to have pretty decent extras.

#322 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 02 Oct 06 :: 02:07

I watched Trial & Error in it's entirity last night. I spent the whole day knowing I was going to watch it and not wanting night to come, yet not being able to wait until I could watch it.

I've seen the Trial parts of it before, and so I had pretty much gotten a lot of my anger at Adam out of the way already. So I was pretty sympathetic to Adam, it's all really heart wrenching stuff. It's all very powerful and hard to watch.

Surprisingly, I'm not mad at Bonnie. I feel sorry for her. She's got her own issues and Adam just complicated her life more for her, which is pretty inconsiderate. And I mean, who could actually resist Adam???

God, when Adam left Bonnies and banged his head against the wall... awww you just wanna tell him it's okay, but it's not and he stuffed up big time.

#323 Re: All About Chris » Photoshoots (or the absence of them) » 29 Sep 06 :: 01:35

I would love a photoshoot smile
c'mon chris, might help deflect us from the fact we haven't had much new stuff.

#324 Re: Chris On Screen » American Gun » 22 Sep 06 :: 09:22

Hey guys!

I haven't watched this movie yet... but I will, especially now its holidays (yay) so there will be plenty of time to indulge in some good ole Chris watching. big_smile

I was perusing metacritic, which I'm not sure if you know of but it's a site that basically compiles all reviews of music, movies and the like, to give an overall score. I saw American Gun was listed, and thought that naturally, you'd all wanna have a look. http://www.metacritic.com/video/titles/americangun

It got 48, average/mixed reviews. And it lists all the reviews they got for it.

#325 Re: Joan of Arcadia » In defense of Alexis Dziena... » 03 Sep 06 :: 05:05

So, got anything to say about what you've seen of season 2 so far, Susanna?

Yeah, plenty.I've just finished No Future.
Stand out moments so far:
The Election: when Adam's discovers his posters being graffited, starts to pull them down and then those thugs come round and push him. gotta love Adam shoving them back v. cool.
P.O.V: when Adam and Joan are watching vids of Adam & his mother, that was soooo sad but incredible to watch.
Friday Night: Awww, Adam looked so adorable in his suit!!! That was sooo sweet.

all I can remember off the top of my head...
