I saw that guy's post on IMDb and am checking it out. It came as a surprise and is a mystery to several people associated with the film. :clueless:

#405 Re: All About Chris » The Brothers Marquette » 29 Nov 07 :: 17:08

Yes, both Sean and Michael are in it. Michael has several other films which were submitted and may be announced later today at 4 PM when the remainder of the films are revealed.

I should know later whether or not he'll be going as well.

It's complicated so I won't get into details but I can't say for certain yet if I'll be there. Right now it looks more likely than not but I should know very soon.

Assuming I go, and Sean attends, I will of course get together with him and report back to you guys. big_smile

I didn't realize that either! LOL

Yup. His character is a riot in the film. Although not necessarily intentionally. Actually, everyone is a bit clueless -- it's a very funny movie. That may have been his best moment, though. I was literally ROFL. I almost busted a rib laughing. Especially knowing it wasn't "acting."

-TeeJay

Yup, that's Michael almost killing himself. Michael is the one yelling "oh s***." The "bitches" line was Sean's, I believe. He's the one on the passenger side.

I see, Larry. Actually, the teaser I was talking about is this one:

The one where they used the Alexi Murdoch song. I guess they took that off the official site...

-TeeJay

That one is not on the site, no.

I love it -- that opening shot with Michael slipping and slamming into the car was a mistake, by the way. They did a couple of takes but it was so funny they decided to go with that one. It hurt, too.

I've seen the "barf on your ass" one. (Ew, no thanks, Michael, I'll pass.) But wasn't there some dialogue in the beginning? The teacher says something in class, doesn't she? About what the future might bring or something like that.

-TeeJay

No, there's no dialogue at the beginning or anywhere else in it at all. It starts with music and the song runs all through it. At the very end the music stops and Michael has that one line.

#410 Re: Chris On Screen » Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary) » 07 Nov 07 :: 00:11

It ends with Michael saying "barf on your ass." lol That's the only dialogue.

#411 Re: Chris On Screen » Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary) » 06 Nov 07 :: 21:25

It was basically another trailer, with clips, dialogue, and music. The one called "Teaser" has clips and music only.

TeeJay wrote:

Uh.... why?? Was Chris in it?

-TeeJay

Haha. That could be taken two ways... tongue

I believe he was, yes. I'm not sure why it was removed. If I recall correctly, the aspect ratio was off so it might have been just a technical issue. It's also possible that they didn't have clearance for some of the music but I don't want to speculate.

#414 Re: Chris On Screen » Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary) » 30 Oct 07 :: 17:23

The first one is an entertainment news report which was done at the time of the LA Film Festival. Then there are 3 "trailers." The one called "Teaser" is basically a trailer -- just clips with music and no dialogue. The one called "Trailer" is the same trailer as the one which was up before. The one called "Video" is basically another trailer, with clips, dialogue, and music.

There's a cast list but it doesn't include links to their characters or bios yet. Finally, there's contact info.

Eventually there will be stills and production notes, etc.

Nice find! From what I recall they weren't there. I believe they are absent at Getty as well:

#416 Re: Chris On Screen » Choose Connor (a.k.a. The Politician) » 16 Oct 07 :: 00:09

Hey everyone!

On Friday night I attended the East Coast Premiere of Choose Connor at the Woodstock Film Festival. This film is a singular achievement and the vision of one man, Luke Eberl. As reported in Variety a few days ago, Eberl wrote, directed, produced and edited this film at the age of 19.

Choose Connor a very moving film about hypocrisy. It could take place just about anyplace where power is wielded but in this case it is set amidst a congressman's run for senator, as seen through the eyes of a young idealistic middle school graduate (Alex Linz) with his heart set on public service. The script is sharp and smart -- Eberl is amazingly intelligent and literate and it shows. There are some incredibly memorable lines -- I'll post some later. It's shot quite professionally for someone so young and with little experience behind the camera, and the pacing is just perfect.

The film is chock full of veterans and industry pros -- no doubt you'll recognize many faces. Chris only has one scene but it's very moving and is one of the most pivotal and important moments in the whole movie. But most of all this is Alex Linz's film, along with Escher Holloway as the congressman's nephew and Steven Weber as Congressman Lawrence Connor. Linz is onscreen pretty much from start to finish. He really nailed it.

I had a chance to chat with Eberl and producer James McLean afterward. They spoke so highly of Chris. We could have talked all night but they had another film to get to. Their next stop is Europe -- Choose Connor has been selected for the Rome Film Festival.

#417 Re: Chris On Screen » Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary) » 21 Sep 07 :: 20:06

Oh, yes. The party scene actually takes up about half the movie, maybe more. The party scene basically is the movie, for all intents and purposes. There was alot of improv, and much of the "partying" was real. wink I know exactly what story he is talking about. We were literally ROFL.

#418 Re: Chris On Screen » Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary) » 21 Sep 07 :: 17:53

I saw the film about a month ago at a secret location hehe . It is not your "typical" film. I'd put it more into the category of "Friday night midnight cult classics" or "let's all get wasted and watch this movie."

There's not much of a plot, but it's a lot of fun to watch, especially for fans of Chris and Sean. :applause:

The Temecula Valley Film Festival has awarded the Special Jury Prize for directing to Jess Manafort for The Beautiful Ordinary.

#421 Re: Chris On Screen » The Girl Next Door (ADULT LANGUAGE!!!) » 16 Aug 07 :: 22:21

Today's Cinematical has a piece, "Cinematical Seven: Teen Sex Comedies That DON'T Suck!" tongue

Included:

The Girl Next Door (2004, Luke Greenfield) -- One of the most overlooked and unjustly dismissed "low-brow" comedies of the past five years, the flick tells the tender story of a mega-horny nice-guy teenager -- and the young porno queen who moves in next door. Aside from the fine performance from Emile Hirsch, the luminous presence of the stunning Elisha Cuthbert, and a lot of random sexiness, the flick pretty much belongs to supporting players Chris Marquette, Paul Dano and the awesomely oily Timothy Olyphant. (Funny Factor: 4 out of 5 / Sexy Factor: 4.5 out of 5)

Don't they teach punctuation in school any more? lol

That first paragraph had to be the longest single sentence I've ever seen. Not to take away from his review, of course. tongue

Oh well, I'll take the high road and say that this is the best Chris Marquette message board in the world. big_smile
