*Note to self, don't pop knuckles around Tina...:D

I was able to score my Trekkie costume off ebay today. Only set me back $13.50 smile

I heard that Fanboys was going to be shown here on the UNM campus. We'll be dressing up for it without a doubt. Sounds like it's only gonna be a one-time thing, but we're still pretty excited about it and I'll make sure to follow up with more info as I get it.

3 Times Deb? That's awesome!! Yup, that was me sans bucket in the theater scene big_smile My nephew was sitting right next to me---man, he turns 16 this year and is incredibly excited to see this film.  Have you seen me in the Casino scene yet??

Those guys who dress up like that and go out in public have more nerves than I do. I would be embarrassed to even go in the front yard dressed up like that.

I've been doing it for 5 years now and love every second of it. Even when people drive by and yell at me or tell me that I suck, Lol.

Hey Deb, looks like you had a great time and I'm glad you were able to hook up with the 501st down there! Thanks for posting the pics too.

I'm so glad I got to experience this movie with these people!  And this time, I actually paid attention and said to Dave, "That's our friend Sean!" when our resident Dork In Plastic walked by and got a compliment on his costume in the theater camp-out scene.  lol
.

Aww Yea! big_smile

Yea sorry about the photo quality-A lady was nice enough to take the pic with my phone, and her hand was shaking like she was in a helicopter tongue
We'll try to take a better one next time we go...but yea, like Deb said, let's get some pics up of you guys if you see the poster!

#38 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 24 Jan 09 :: 23:12

Right on, I'm curious to see what props they're gonna be offering out.

Jacen and I were at the movies last night and decided to take a couple of pics with the Fanboys poster in the lobby. Even though it's the poster no one really cares for, we still had to do it big_smile

I totally agree...a poster with actual faces would be nice. I've been telling alot of friends about the movie(Over the years!) and I'll mention some of the actors names and they won't ring a bell, but as soon as I show them a picture, they're like, "Oh yea...that guy's from Detroit Rock City!!" or "He's from JOA-I love that guy" etc...Actor recognition is a biggie and at least one of the posters needs them on it!

Monday evening, Kyle Newman was interviewed for about an hour on the 501st Podcast.
http://501st.com/podcast/

    I got to take part in the interview, even though I only spoke for about 2 minutes big_smile .  It was still fun to listen to and he was basically just trying to encourage those in the 'limited release areas' to go support Fanboys. He voiced his unhappiness with the limited release and was upset that it wasn't being shown in the southeastern part of the country(Atlanta, and FL specifically) (I thought of Deb smile)
(I haven't been on the boards recently, so this may not be new to ya guys..) I learned that Kyle is actually the guy who poses with the Vader helmet on the '40 yr old virgin' poster spoof. He said he wasn't too crazy about the poster, but now is warming up to it mainly because actors that were in 40 yr old virgin are also in Fanboys. There's going to be a new poster coming out, if it hasn't already...it'll show a white Storm Trooper helmet, with different state stickers on it... kinda like the old suitcases that have stickers of the states they've traveled to....I kinda like this idea and can't wait to see it.  Kyle also mentioned that he and Jon Heder are working on a Napoleon Dynamite Animated series as well as some other projects--so he's definitely been keeping himself busy.
Anyways...just wanted to share with ya real quick!!

#45 Re: Square Eyes » Why DVD will fail. Article from 1996 » 30 Aug 08 :: 08:44

This was great IG. I remember feeling pretty frustrated when I first heard about the DVD format back in the 90's, especially after having a large collection of VHS tapes. Well, about 2/3rds of those tapes are gone now because I have the content on DVD now.
Oh, and I also purchased a PS3 a few months ago , so by default, I also own a Bluray player now. Have yet to buy a BR disc though...

#47 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 11 Aug 08 :: 00:39

Unfortunately, the site just showed 'September' and no year....Can't get excited just yet. big_smile

#48 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 09 Aug 08 :: 23:56

Well, the Weinstein website now has Fanboys listed with a 'September' release.
