Laura! It's coming to Pittsburgh!! Too bad it won't still show at the end of March. I'm gonna be in the Baltimore area then.
You know what's awful? Someone posted a kind of hate post about the movie on IMDb the other day. It was mainly a rant about how a movie about something as silly and stupid as Star Wars would ever get made. The post went on and on about how American franchises like Star Wars are pushed to a hype that pollutes the whole entertainment industry. Bla bla bla. The thing that really got to me was the post's last sentence: The people who made this film should be murdered. That had me hit the "Report Abuse" post. The IMDb admins must have deleted it because it's gone now. Thankfully.

Something like that shouldn't be said about anyone, even if something isn't good or they are not liked.

Sounds like a terrific experience, Deb! Pretty much in line with mine. Hope you're well-rested by the time you see this.
For anyone following box office, it's still doing pretty well. Once again, on Thursday it had the #3 biggest increase out of all the top 43 films.

This makes me want to see the movie again. But who knows if I ever will ...

I've made myself a Flickr page and I'm currently uploading all my decent pics from last night to it. I didn't get a lot of really good ones. I still kinda suck at holding the camera still. Sorry about that, but you'll get the idea. One of my favorite pics is the real cop with the R2 unit. It turned out nicely and he was a pretty cool guy, for a cop.

I'm so glad I got to experience this movie with these people! And this time, I actually paid attention and said to Dave, "That's our friend Sean!" when our resident Dork In Plastic walked by and got a compliment on his costume in the theater camp-out scene.
.
Aww Yea!

Hey Deb, looks like you had a great time and I'm glad you were able to hook up with the 501st down there! Thanks for posting the pics too.

It was such a blast! I'm gonna post more about it, don't worry. The guys were really into it and that made it so much fun. They laughed and cheered and clapped in all the right places. Especially over my favorite cameo, Carrie Fisher.

That looks like so much fun. I loved the movie, even without Storm Troupers.

Awesome pictures, Deb. Your a great photographer! : )

Cool photos, Deb, looks like you had a blast. I love the one with the little kid staring at Darth Vader. "I'm your father, Luke." The ones where you're shackled are cool too.
What did Dave think about the movie?

Kind of funny that little boy just goes right up to Vader without a fear at all. While all the adults "act" as if they are scared for their lives.
Those guys who dress up like that and go out in public have more nerves than I do. I would be embarrassed to even go in the front yard dressed up like that.
Don't know if that one guy in that uniform made it himself, but he sure has a large cod piece.

This is cool. We had nothing like this at the theater I went to, even though it was opening night in Times Square, where people dress like this on any normal day lol. Maybe that's why.
Great pics.

It looks like a blast being there. It reminds me of when i went to Celebration Europe which was so fun just seeing all the costumes.

No i didn't. I can remember the notices for it on the day i want, but it was so crowded and hectic that i never got into any of the presentations. Still just the experience of being there was enough to keep me happy, even if i sound super nerdy to whoever i talk to about it.

I've been doing it for 5 years now and love every second of it. Even when people drive by and yell at me or tell me that I suck, Lol.

Sean, I just got back from seeing the movie for the third time and this time I saw you in the theater audience at the end! You were onscreen at least three times. You had a bandana on your head, and yeah, you were right behind the guys. So cool to see you, "bucket-off".

Missed your post, TeeJay. Dave LOVED the movie. He wants the DVD. He laughed his ass off. And cheered, clapped, the whole nine yards.

You've seen it three times in one weekend, Deb? That's awesome! I'm going to buy Fanboys as soon as it's released on DVD.
Offline
I'm pretty sure Deb saw it twice this weekend, once on Friday and once on Sunday. The first time she saw it was together with Anne and I in LA in October. It's great Dave liked the movie too. Not that we had any doubts, right?

3 Times Deb? That's awesome!! Yup, that was me sans bucket in the theater scene My nephew was sitting right next to me---man, he turns 16 this year and is incredibly excited to see this film. Have you seen me in the Casino scene yet??
Offline
Yeah, twice this past weekend and once in LA in October, Mel. And no, Sean, I haven't caught you in the Casino scene yet. Probably the only reason I caught you in the other two scenes was because Chris wasn't in them, stealing my attention away from you.
