Yeah, as I told Anne, he was flattered shitless about all the things we said we liked. ![]()
And I hate to be a wise-ass, but Kris, I think you can update some of the info on the tv.com page. Like, for instance, he doesn't live with his family anymore. Of course we don't know that for sure, but when we talked about baseball, he said he doesn't even have cable, so I'm guessing he was talking about his own place and not his parents'.
Also, that information about his pets might be years old... I think that's from quite an old interview.
I also spotted this as one of his things he did listed there:
As Told By Ginger
Cry Wolf
Stuart Higsby
and this:
The Wild Thornberrys
Little Brother
Hot Air
What and when was that? I've never heard about him being in that, but that doesn't mean I'm the authority of everything that concerns Chris and his filmography. If that's something he did, it needs to go in our filmography. ![]()
And, yes, I wish you could have met him when he was shooting in Vancouver. I wish you all could meet him. And I'll get those sound clips up there one of these days. Lars has been hanging out at my place all night, but he left now and I'm gonna continue typing up that "trip report" from my hand-written diary of our little Nerd adventure. I'm sure y'all are waiting for that. Next thing I'll work on the sound clips.
-TeeJay
Sean, Ken, look at what picture we had Kyle autograph for us. ![]()

He laughed about that and of course asked how we got our hands on it. You go, guys. ![]()
-TeeJay
We'll be staying tuned for the rest of the interview. No worries, just get to it as soon as you can. (And that's easy for me to say, because I already know what he said.)
Hope your back feels better today. Yay for Nicole! ![]()
-TeeJay
Yeah, the Calvin pics! <sigh>
Hello-o! Calvin, where are you???
So I'm re-reading some older posts. And we now know where Calvin is. Because he's still in the making. We can consider ourselves lucky if Calvin even ends up being played by Chris. Let's hope that he will. And THEN we can yell for pictures.
-TeeJay
Well, look whose autograph I just hung in my little treasure corner in the bedroom:

And, yes, that's a gun holster, but it's only a painted water pistol in there. It's an original prop from a German cop show with my favorite German actor in it. He signed it too.
(That's TV illusion for you, because he wore it like that on the show too when they didn't shoot it too close, because a real gun would have been too heavy and would have messed with how the t-shirt fit the guy. Sheesh!)
And unfortunately I had to take Alexander Siddig down temporarily because I don't have enough frames. He'll get a new frame though and make it up on that wall again.
-TeeJay
Where's the pic? I don't see it?
Did you try the reload button? Could it be Ad-blocked somehow? It shows up for me in both Firefox and IE.
-TeeJay
Talking about Linus dying... We asked Kyle what kind of cancer Linus has. He said they never specified that. They kept it vague for a reason. They didn't want to go into all that medical crap, what chemo he got and all that, so it's just cancer that'll kill him eventually. I wish we could transcribe Kyle's interview right now too, but we only have the video footage that Andrew shot and God knows when we'll get that. Let's hope sooner rather than later.
Oh, and there's also the question about his height, right? Even though he looks taller than me on the picture, I'm kinda squatting to one side to get my arm around him, so I think he was maybe just a tiny bit smaller than me, actually. I'd say maybe around 1.71 or 1.72 m. Does that satisfy you, Anne? ![]()
-TeeJay
Here's one more:
![]()
-TeeJay
Okay, did I hear that right? A Fanboys sequel? Whoa!
![]()
Ya know, they could bring back Chris in some flashback scenes.
Yes, Kyle said it himself. There's gonna be a sequel. I don't know how far that project is advanced, though. Deb, make sure to quiz Adam if it's already written if you ever get the chance to go back to the set. You should start making a list with whom to bug about what. LOL
Flashback scenes could totally work. I don't know what they have planned. It would be really cheesy, though, if Linus somehow didn't die. But I can't believe they'd do that.
-TeeJay
Oooh, ain't that sweet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Marquette
I just uploaded one of our images to wikipedia, so he finally gets a face there. You're not allowed to use copyrighted pics there, so now that we have one we took ourselves that I think is actually really sweet, I thought we should use that. That okay with you, guys?
-TeeJay
I think we can pretty much quell any rumors right here. Chris told us this was something he was approached about quite a long time ago (must have been 2003 or 2004) and never heard back from them. So it looks like this project died on the vine. I removed it from his filmography. Should do that in wikipedia too.
-TeeJay
No, we didn't so much think about the regular dude thing. You would have seen it yourself if we'd had the chance to catch him in a little video snippet. There were so many things we wanted to tell him and ask him and make him do, but there just wasn't enough time. ![]()
We gave him the Strong Medicine collage, though. He was totally tickled by that.
-TeeJay
Just one thing I wanted to mention. To anyone who's read "PS, I Love You", Gerry said to Holly: Shoot for the stars.
We did. And it look where it got us. I think people should try to do that more often. Don't be afraid to aim high. It might not always work out, but you might just have that tiny little window one day where everything falls into place and you get there. I'm so glad that happened to us. I'm still mentally bouncing up and down. I'll be up there with the stars any second now. ![]()
-TeeJay
Well, I'm safely back in Germany and I'm being totally ridiculed by Lars, who's hanging out on my couch. Gee, I've missed this, friends hanging out, laughing about my little (okay, big) obsession.
I think he's just jealous.
But he indulged me and had me tell him everything about our meeting (well, at least the most exciting parts) and he's even looked at the pictures. And, yes, he says I'm crazy. And he may just be right.
Yep, Sean, we still can't believe how crazily coincidental this all was. I mean, how many stars had to align to make this happen? How the hell did we deserve that? But, hey, I'm not questioning it. It was so awesome, such a great day. I will type up a whole sort of trip report that I wrote down in my little diary that I had with me. Bear with me, guys. It'll take a while.
And, thank you, guys, for all your comments. Again, we can't believe how lucky we were and we'd love to share all of that with you guys. Yes, we should have taken more pictures, but we didn't want to be too groupie-like. Well, maybe there's gonna be a next time. Who knows. And if not, we still had a wonderful experience. I think I'm gonna be on a high for, like, a week. Until I go back to work on Monday, probably.
Meeting Kyle was also great. He and Chris remembered you guys, Sean and Ken. And there's gonna be a Fanboys sequel! That's what Kyle said. Seriously. We asked, Okay, so this is obviously gonna be without Linus, but Kyle just had this sly smile on his lips and said, Well, you know, nothing's impossible, there will be a way. Wonder what that means. ![]()
And our Fanboys t-shirt just opened us all sorts of doors. You won't believe the guys who came up to us to ask us about the t-shirt. Adam F. Goldberg was totally jazzed, Dan (the six-fingered man) was shown the t-shirt by Kyle ("Hey, Dan, come over here and look at that!"), even the set designer came to talk to us (he wasn't involved in Fanboys, though). It was unbelievable just how relaxed and super-nice all these people were to us.
Deb, thanks for posting the first part of the interview. I'll find a way to put it into the website when it's finished.
We have a feeling next year is gonna be big for Chris. Both Alpha Dog and The Invisible will be released in January, Fanboys probably in February (both Kyle and Chris said that). And then there's still all these indies that he's got in the can, some of which might be released next year too. If so, I really hope people are gonna notice and come check us out. Chris totally deserves it. I still can't believe how totally relaxed and nice and sweet he was.
And let us tell you, on the set he's a real goofball. He joked around, did all sorts of funny grimaces and capers and just bounced around all the time, teasing everyone. He probably had to keep the energy up, shooting a comedy, but if they said on the JoA s1 episode commentary that Chris was a potty-mouth and a diva, I now totally believe it.
And, Anne? He's a regular dude. As regular as they come. Nothing star-like about him at all. AT ALL. Yes, of course I was nervous at first, but after, like, five seconds of talking to him, it was all so relaxed and just not awkward in the least. So get over your star-phobia, he's just a normal guy with a job that has him exposed to the public more than "normal" people. I wish he could tell you himself. And you don't have to die if you ever get to talk to him.
Lars is telling me I should stop drooling. So I will. I need to do my laundry and also go grocery shopping. My fridge is totally empty and I'm getting hungry. They gave us breakfast at 6 AM on the flight. Geez. But then again, we landed at 7 AM, so...
Oh, and here's some instant visual proof for those who don't wanna go to the gallery:

-TeeJay
I'm gonna leave for Germany in a few minutes, actually. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get the interview all typed up and proved, so Deb is gonna take a shot at it today. I will only get to Germany by tomorrow around 9 AM CET, so I don't think we will be able to upload it to the site before that. But maybe Deb can post it on the message board or something. Guys, I'm telling you, some of the stuff he said was so incredibly sweet and some stuff was exactly what we always wanted to hear (like when he talks about Adam cheating on Joan).
And the photos are in the gallery:
http://www.chris-marquette.com/gallery/ … p?album=59
I'll write more when I'm back home. Geez, I'm still on a total high.
-TeeJay
Man, he is the sweetest sweetie pie ever! He was soooo nice. We were hugged and everything. He was so flattered that there were people around who actually cared that much about his work. We're still working on transcribing the interview, you guys will be in for a treat!
-TeeJay
Okay, so here's the pictures that we took today on the set. Chris isn't in any of them since the actors weren't on the set yet today. Cross your fingers everyone that we'll get a glimpse of him tomorrow and hopefully can even talk to him (and Kyle Newman, the director). We will be giving our best to be a little bold and approach these guys--if at all possible.
These are two leather couches that they just dumped at the entrance to the college quad and only later carried onto the set:
A banner for the college they're gonna use in the movie:
The actual college they're shooting at is Agnes Scott College in Altanta, GA. This is a picture of the main loop with the front of the college. We saw a banner that said "Welcome Freshmen", this might go up here because they said they were gonna film something there tomorrow:
This is a set of fake bleachers (or whatever that is supposed to be) that we're not sure what it's gonna be used for:
This is the college quad where they put up all sorts of stalls and this Greek-looking stage. They had a banner up at one point that said "Greek Week", so it's probably gonna be like a week of picking who's gonna join the fraternities and sororities:
This is hilarious because Agnes Scott in an all-girls school. And the girls on the campus were going on about how this must be a movie about guys because of this tent (Trojan = company that produces condoms):
This is the "pride" tent with the purple fuzzy chairs
:
This will probably be hung on the Greek stage along with a few other banners that we weren't able to get pictures off because they hadn't put them up by the time we left:
We took a picture of these suitcases because we think there might be a scene where Max and/or Owen get dropped off for school and they might be the props they'll be using for this scene. Let's see:
What was also hilarious is that I overheard a college girl walking by that said: "Oh, this is for some movie, Revolution of the Nerds or something like that."
Some girls were also bitching about how this whole movie set was gonna disrupt their ability to get to the classes because they'd have to go around it. Man, these girls don't know what they're missing!

As some of you might know, two of the Dorquettes are meeting up right now in person: Deb and Tina. And we even have proof. Take a look.
First of all, here's one of Deb's dogs, Lacey.
Deb and Tina having dinner at Greenwoods in Roswell, GA.

Deb having Bavarian Hefeweizen beer at a Bavarian restaurant in Stone Mountain Village.
Deb and Tina at the "Big Rock" (Stone Mountain).

At the laser show.

Portraits of Deb and Tina.

Tina's photographic artwork.
More to follow if we have anything to report. So far it's all great fun (once we managed to get Deb's piece of shit computer running).
-TeeJay
(Tina, do you have a solution coincidentally?)
What exactly is your problem with QT? I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I would know more details about how it's not working for you.
-TeeJay
Good luck guys!
Thanks, Sean. We're quite hopeful that we'll at least be able to get a message to Chris, if not in person, then at least in writing. They say filming starts on Monday or Tuesday, we'll go to Agnes Scott College and just see if we can find a film crew. Shouldn't be too hard since it's a women's only school. ![]()
Also, I found this on IESB:
Launched late last year, Fox Atomic is targeting genre pics that skew young and can be produced on modest budgets. Its slate so far includes the horror sequels "28 Weeks Later" and "The Hills Have Eyes 2" and comedy projects "Revenge of the Nerds" and "The Comebacks." The latter two begin filming this month.
On Oct. 9, filming begins in Atlanta on "Revenge of the Nerds," a reimagining of the 1984 cult comedy being produced by McG and his Wonderland Sound & Vision partner David Manpearl.
Christopher Marquette ("Fanboys," "The Girl Next Door") and Kristin Cavallari (formerly of the MTV series "Laguna Beach") have been cast in the film. Marquette will play the leader of the nerds, and Cavallari a sorority girl alongside Katie Cassidy (the forthcoming "Dallas"). Also newly cast in the pic are Dan Byrd ("The Hills Have Eyes") and Efren Ramirez ("Napoleon Dynamite").
Kyle Newman directs the pic.
And also this:
Casting: The Revenge of the Nerds Grow By Two!
Written by Robert Sanchez
Sunday, 01 October 2006
Kyle Newman is days away from shooting Revenge of The Nerds so it only makes sense that the cast continues to grow.
Frosty, that sexy red head from Collider was able to get word that Ryan Pinkston and Nick Zano have joined the cast of Nerds.
Ryan will be playing another nerd while Nick Zano will be portraying the lead jock and head of the alpha beta's.
The cast now consists of Chris Marquette, Dan Byrd, Efren Ramirez, Ryan Pinkston, Nick Zano, Katie Cassidy and Kristin Cavallari.
Revenge of the Nerds is a Fox Atomic release that will start shooting in Atlanta, Georgia the second week of October 2006. Adam Jay Epstein, Adam Goldberg and Andrew Jacobson penned the script. McG is producing with David Manpearl.
A raucous re-imagining of the 1984 comedy classic, Adams College is turned upside down by a group of freshmen misfits who redefine the term "nerd." As they try to form their own frat, the nerds incur the wrath of the ultimate alpha males, the infamous Alpha Beta fraternity. The nerds refuse to go down without a fight, waging an all-out battle against the notorious jocks during Greek Week.

Thanks for posting that, Deb and I already put it on the website. Looked at the trailer, it's different from the ones we've seen previously. I made caps off the few moments where we catch a glimpse of Chris, look in the gallery.
January 12, huh? So the US people get to see Chris on the big screen twice in one month. That's cool. Maybe I should finagle a business trip to our US office in late January. ![]()
-TeeJay
Yep, Deb also says it looks like they haven't even shot it yet. Damn! Let's hope Chris won't be too busy next year to do it. And now he'll have to buff up all over again.
-TeeJay
Here's an e-mail exchange with Gary Lundgren, the director of the movie:
Hi Tina,
We're on the road to making Calvin Marshall soon. Probably early next year.
Chris is still attached to play the title role. We think it's a great character for him -- funny, driven, endearing.
there's been a few $$$ hang ups along the way. Very difficult to raise money for independent films. But we're getting close.
Check back in a few months. Your website looks great BTW.

Hi Gary,
We found your e-mail address on the Broken Sky website. We thought we'd drop you a line because we've put together a Chris Marquette website and we are very interested in any information you might be able to share with us regarding your film, Calvin Marshall, especially since there is so little actual information anywhere on the Internet about it. Anything you might be able to give us would be awesome, but production stills or any other picture material would be most appreciated.
If there is anything we can do to help promote the movie, please let us know. We wrote to Broken Sky a few months back to ask if there was anything we could do in this regard and we were told to check back at a later date. We'd love to help spread the word about the film, if you'll pass along any info that we can share. Is there any word on a planned release date yet?
You can find our website at www.chris-marquette.com, come by and take a look if you like. It's currently the best resource on the web with information on Chris Marquette and his work.
Thanks,
Tina
Soooo.... does that mean they haven't actually even shot the movie yet??? I mean, Chris buffed up for it and everything! ![]()
-TeeJay
Really. Didn't know that. I think my Dad calls it Temeswar, because I never heard Timisoara coming out of his mouth, but I'm not exactly sure.
The German name for it is Temeswar or Temeschwar, that's probably why he calls it that. Timisoara is the Romanian name for it (right?). And you pronounce the 's' in it like a 'sh'. Just like the second 't' in Constanta has a little thingie below, so you pronounce it 'Constantsa'. There's a few things I learned when I was over there. ![]()
That's great, Irina, that AG downloaded okay. I hope you like it. Deb and I just rewatched the movie on DVD the other day. It's wonderful to see Chris all in crystal clear picture with great sound. We only had a sucky video tape copy before. If you like AG, then I recommend you download Just Friends and The Girl Next Door next. Those are the two main comedic roles he's done, and he's great in both of them. He's much goofier in Just Friends, but when it comes to the overall movie, I like GND much better. In terms of TV shows, I guess the guest role he did on Miracles is also worth checking out. Very agonizing stuff. He did that one back in 2003.
It's such a shame that Strong Medicine is not available online, but at least you can check him out in some of the clips that we have on our website. Oh, Anne? I reuploaded the Gunshot Wedding clips, they are in a little better quality now. Not great, but they're halfway decent now, I should think.
Okay, I need to have some breakfast and then I'm gonna paint Deb's Dorquette shirt. Irina, if you wanna see the full range to our madness and obsession, go and check out the History of the Dorquettes thread in the Announcements section. ![]()
-TeeJay
I think the romanian name of Temesburg is Temeswar, but I'm not sure about that.
Hey, and don't worry about the grammar. My grammar sucks often, too. But as long as people can understand me, it's just fine.
Anne, Temeschwar is actually Timisoara, the town that IFE Romania is located in. I've been there once, but unfortunately I haven't really had much time to see anything there. It seemed like a nice city, though. I certainly liked it much better than Bucharest, which was just ugly. At least the parts that I saw. What city do you live in, Irina? I heard Constanta must be really nice, but I've never been.
Yeah, the dubbing really does suck. I hate it too (oh, I'm German as well, by the way). That's why I'm so glad that with DVDs and the internet we now have access to undubbed stuff as well.
As to American Gun, I hope you're downloading the right version. There's a film by the same title from 2003 (I think) that doesn't have anything to do with the one Chris is in. If the one you're downloading starts with something about shooting people at a school, you've got the right one.
Oh, Anne? I got the Sisterhood book for you today. Unfortunately they didn't have any of those books you wanted for your mom. It looks as if one of them is only available as hardcover and the others are out of print. But we're gonna check another bookstore before I come back home. I also bought the Anna Nalick CD for you today, as well as the new Evanescence CD for myself. Good stuff!
Can't believe I blew about $100 in one day. ![]()
Irina, can I ask how old you are? I'm 30... Old fart, but not as old as Deb. ![]()
