they're called Mook. here they are on ~myspace~
i found this out last week. i'm always skeptical of actor's bands because generally they really suck(y helo thar, 30 Seconds to Mars). but Paul Dano's band is so cute and fun and not half bad and i just love them. i mean, they've got a cow on stage.
they've also got like 5 or so songs on iTunes.
could he be more awesome/precious? i just wanna pinch his widdwe cheeks.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I grew up watching the old Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and Gamera films on tv - so this looks like something I would like. Heck I even like the 1998 Godzilla film which seems that most hate.
I have seen pics of the creature on the net and it appears that the head looks somewhat snake-like from the front, but kind of human like from the side.
I've also read that the scene where the woman goes behind the screen and something happens the before that happened she was bitten by one of those small creatures. I guess it would be possible that since she was bitten that sometime later the babies emerged from her and that is what was hinted at.
Perhaps we'll get an unrated version of the film when it gets released on DVD.

Just got done watching this. It's basically like Crimson Tide, but without the good actors. I wasn't expecting much for a buck, but it was an ok film. It also stars that guy from the old series Major Dad.

Getting hit by a fairly big snow here this morning.
Already have about 6 inches on the ground. Forecast is for 8 to 1 inches total, more towards Chicago proper and NW Indiana.
The roads are snow covered and I haven't seen one plow go by yet.

Warner Home Video has announced 1-disc ($28.98) and 2-disc special editions ($34.99) of I Am Legend which stars Will Smith. Each will be available to own from the 18th March. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. The only extra material on the 1-disc release will be 4 animated comics (Death As a Gift, Isolation, Sacrificing the Few for the Many, and Shelter), and some DVD-ROM features. The 2-disc special edition will include all that, along with an alternate theatrical version of the film with a "controversial" ending. Another Strike Casualty — Bonus Material
The TV landscape has been decimated by the Writers Strike, and that will undoubtedly lead to some smaller-than-usual TV-DVD sets come August/September, but there are other repercussions that aren't as obvious; the lack of participation in bonus material.
Don't expect to listen to those insightful commentary tracks featuring writers and producers, or hear about the genesis of a show from the 90s; writers and producers are turning down offers from the studios (the home video divisions) to participate in bonus material. Some studios planned ahead and shot interviews before the strike, but many upcoming sets will be affected, assuming the strike continues.
I don't know about you, but I can't imagine a Lost DVD set without the participation of Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindeloff, or The Shield without Shawn Ryan. What happens to the shows that have been off the air for years and are just now getting their DVD releases? How upsetting will it be for fans hoping to hear new behind-the-scenes gossip on their favorite shows? Very upsetting.

Actually no Deb, if you receive tv over cable or satellite you are fine and will still be able to watch tv on the old tvs. However if you only receive tv via antenna, then you will need a new antenna, which the government is offering coupons for via a special website.

With the recent announcement by Warner Bros. that they are going Blu-Ray exclusive, it basically has put the nail in the coffin of HD DVD. I have read that stores will no longer be carrying HD DVD movies and that stores are putting the HD DVD players on clearance. Sales of Blu-Ray exceed HD DVD by a healthy margin, even though Blu-Ray is more expensive.
I really think most people are still happy enough with regular DVD and will not buy into another format anytime soon. Just like OhGnarly pointed out, the difference isn't that noticeable. Whereas the difference between DVD and VHS was big, it isn't that much between DVD and high definition dvd.
With the prices of both players and movies remaining quite high for both of the high definition formats, I think that it will remain a niche market for many years to come. Plus many will be reluctant to venture into another dvd format because some think that they have to buy all of their movies all over again in the new format, even though they are backwards compatible.
I know I will wait many years before I upgrade into a high definition home entertainment system.

So it got to around 50 today. It's been nice most of the day. About an hour ago it started to get really windy. Just had some heavy rain go through, it sounded like it was mixed with sleet or very small hail. It's now 33 degrees.
It is now going to get down to -1 tonight, so in less than 24 hours our temps will drop at least 50 degrees. Which is one of the biggest temp drops in one day we've ever had around here.
At least they've downed the amount of snow to just about 2 inches, but the high winds will be why we are still under a Winter Storm Warning thru 9AM tomorrow.
They are warning that the rain we've had today could create a flash freeze and traffic could be hazardous tonight and tomorrow morning.

I was going through some old tapes and dubbing them over to DVD and I came across an old Access Hollywood preview of Summer movies.
They had a segment about A Knight's Tale and they showed some clips of the film and the set in Prague. They showed some footage of Heath filming and interview snippets with him. He talked about using music and how that helped them to be not be historically accurate as well as learning a new skill - jousting.

Today's high will be near 48, then the cold front goes through and temps drop like a rock. By tomorrow morning the low will be 2 above. So a 46 degree drop in a day.
Plus we are under a Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday @ Noon, Only about 4 inches of snow expected, but winds up to 50 MPH, so that's probably why. It'll create white-out conditions.

The last time I really watched Fox Channel was during 9/11 because they seemed to have the better camera angles that day. But I haven't really watched them since.

Entertainment Weekly is supposed to have a coupon for $5 off Tootsie and other Anniversary Editions from Sony.
Circuit City will have the new edition on sale for $10, so if CC accepts manufacturer's coupons you could get it for $5.
I subscribe to EW so I'll let you know what issue it is.
It's really too bad that the new edition of Tootsie doesn't have an audio commentary. The old Criterion Collection laserdisc had one so I can't understand why they couldn't have recorded a new AC for this edition. Sad to say, but the actors are getting older and who knows how much longer they'll be around to participate in future extras.

I was hoping that these were cast photos of the actors in costume/character. If they aren't then no you don't have to, I already know what the actors look like.
