Yeah, that's what I thought. X_X The only thing that might come close for me was Lily's line about Kevin that I can't quite remember- something like, "he's sensitive and cute and he listens" or something. Besides that, this episode was totally depressing.

I was pleasently surprised to see that "Spring Cleaning" was actually a very amusing episode considering it's placement (and it gave us the fact that Joan and Adam were not going to completely cut ties).

:embarrassed: Heh, thanks... I tend to torture my favorite characters (I don't mean to!), so I guess some people could call this a McPunisher story. It all depends if emotional punishment counts, too. >.> Ahh, print it out? ... I have that odd feeling again...

Someone saying they'll print out something I've written is like my version of discovering the holy grail, so excuse me if I'm a tad light-headed.

Haha, wow, it really does sound like something. Long reviews are nice, too (actually, that's usually the kind I write >.>). 30 chapters is really something, too. I'm not sure if I could do a story that long (at least with my current procrastination habits).

#129 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 21 Aug 07 :: 06:21

Huh. Sounds like something I'd like. Emotional dramas are good for me (eh, most of the time). I'll have to see if it's at the video store.

Hm. I was thinking about this episode and wondering: Did anything truly happy happen in this episode? It's been awhile since I've seen it (pfft, three weeks) and I'm trying to remember.

#130 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x15 Romancing The Joan » 21 Aug 07 :: 06:14

Yeah, that scene was ... wow. That's all you can describe it as. The kiss was extremely emotional without the two of them going into 'make-out mode'. Even though it would've been nice to see them truly 'find tongue', the way that they could be so emotional without doing so just goes to show how much chemistry they have together.

And, while I'm thinking about it, Adam's "I hate perky, this you know" line killed me the first time I saw it (heck, the entire scene from the day dream on killed me).

#131 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 21 Aug 07 :: 06:02

Oh, yeah, I read it. I heard the interview was on here and I searched through about five of your Chris interviews until I found it. It made me feel a bit better knowing that Chris and Amber didn't want to do it. I really wish we could've seen the show without any network-interference, though.

Despite everything... Those two were simply amazing in the court room, both with Joan's interogation and the confession. You really get a feel for how great they are as actors when you see this episode. Total shame that something so horrible had to happen to see such an emotional performance, though.

#132 Re: Introduce Yourself » Erm, hi everyone. » 21 Aug 07 :: 05:53

Alright- despite my age ( >.> ), I have read some R-rated sexual scenes, just not that many. I don't like to make a habit of it, but if the story's really good, and there's actual reason (and if it's in-character, of course), then I'll give it a go. I'll read it when I have some time (AKA, once I finish the story I'm working on).

#133 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x19 Trial & Error » 21 Aug 07 :: 05:45

Argh, stupid computer erased my post... *grumbles, re-writes*

"Trial and Error" is an especially painful episode. I've only watched it two times- once during my first watch with my friend, and the other with my older brother about a week later. I found out about "Trial and Error" much earlier, though. I'd just seen "Jump" a few days before, actually, and I was going to watch more that weekend (I watched the DVDs at my friend's house because I don't own them). I was in this ... strangely euphoric mood, rambling and grinning before school started, and my friend was, meanwhile, quite unhappy. I didn't really pay much attention until she told me she read another Joan of Arcadia recap from season 2 (this is what she did before she bought the DVDs). And she told me that Adam cheats on Joan, killing any form of my happy mood. Then the bell rang and I had to go to class.

She told me later that it was to brace me (and she wished she could've told me in a much softer way) because A/J is my crack in Joan of Arcadia. My brother had no idea, though, and I made sure not to tell him. Before the camera panned up in the Bonnie-bedroom scene, though, he just gasped, "Oh, no, it's Adam..." I stayed curled up in a little ball throughout the rest of the episode, moaning softly until the end. When it was finally over, I just looked over at him and said, "Now do you understand why I'm pissed that we never got a third season?" I would rant all the time about "what would've happened in season three", and my brother used to tell me to stop. He doesn't do that anymore. =P

What totally pisses me off is that the network actually thought people would watch if they did this. How stereotypical do they think teenagers are? I HATED what they did! I mean, if they had to have Adam cheat, don't make it a full-blown sex scandal. If they wanted better ratings, move it to a night where people were going to be home. Simple as that. Don't go and kill a character. Joan and Adam were drifting, and something was bound to happen, but to do it like this... And the fact that this episode had the lowest first-time ratings of season two really says something. It goes to show you that people didn't want to see something like that happen. It said flat-out that Adam betrayed Joan in some way, and people were afraid of seeing that, so they didn't. The network wanted better ratings, but they should've left well enough alone.

... I'm glad to know that I'm at a place where people won't look at me funny for rambling. >.>

#134 Re: Joan of Arcadia » 2x15 Romancing The Joan » 21 Aug 07 :: 05:04

When Roger was first introduced, my friend gently said that he was a good guy and I shouldn't hate him. Of course, she'd yet to see Romancing the Joan and stayed relatively silent throughout the entire thing. I had an off feeling about Roger from the start. When he started talking to Joan with the "guys cheat because, girls cheat because" speech, I started yelling at Joan to pull out. Yes, yelling at a television. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Despite obvious reasons, I did enjoy watching this episode, especially when we saw Joan's fantasies (well, the first two, at least). And I have to say ... I love Stevie. She's adorable, in her own little way.

Oh, wow. Just as soon as I put up a thread for it (I probably should've checked through here first, *facepalm*), I find that a link's already been put. :embarrassed: Gee, now I feel odd...

I don't know what a McPunisher fic is *naive*, but I'll guarantee here that I didn't just write it to beat up Adam. He does get hurt, yeah, and the first part is ... angst, but I just put up the second part today, and I ask that you read up until the end of it before passing a judgement. The second part is, surprisingly, not very angsty.

... Wow... I have a lot to do. I wonder if we even have some of those movies/tv shows around here, though.:/ I'll have to look around.

I've been wanting to read Butterflies for quite awhile now, actually, though it seems a bit daunting to start. I'll take a good look at it pretty soon, though, I promise. Which would you recommend- the PG version, or the R version?

Alright, so here's another reason I joined here: to get my new fic known. Yeah, more than a little selfish.:embarrassed: Still, I wanted to get it into a community where there would be more fans of what I'm writing for, and I was hesitant to put it on the Joanofarcadia dot com forums because they have a strict PG tag on anything put up. I'm pretty sure this passes into the PG-13 rang, at least in the first chapter.

I know TJ's read the first chapter (thanks for recommending I come here!), but I didn't know if other fans would see it because fanfiction dot net isn't as popular as it used to be. Sure, still popular, but not as much as it used to be. Plus, I don't know if there's some other place Joan of Arcadia fans go.

But I'm rambling now, and the author's notes in my story have enough ramblings in them. Basically, this is a Joan of Arcadia story that goes AU from the end of "Common Thread". The summary (as on fanfiction dot net) is as follows: Everyone has free will. What if Ryan Hunter had exhibited his and not gone hiking that fateful day? Alternate ending to Common Thread. Four part story, updated weekly. Details inside.

Obviously, it's a very heavy-Adam focused story. Why else would I be putting it up here? And now, here's the link, because I'm seriously talking too much. @.@

Okay, so about a week ago I said I'd check out the boards here, and, well, I figured it was time to follow through on that. I'm a teenage girl from the United States, and I'm a rather recent Chris fan. My best friend got me to watch Joan of Arcadia on DVD last May, and now I'm a total nut for the show. I instantly fell in love with Adam Rove, and then I subsequently started watching for things Chris was in. I think I've seen him act in a few things before, but nothing really pops out at me, so until then I'm a Joan of Arcadia girl. I'm planning on making runs to the local video rental store to pick up some of his movies.

Honestly, I've never really had a real actor crush before, and this is my first (weird, considering I'm 16). Not only do I think he's totally cute ( ^_^ ), but I think he's an amazing actor with the ability to move me to tears. He has the whole package and I've fallen hard. Not trying to get back up, either. =P

I'm not all that great with many things besides fanfiction, so hopefully that will suffice for any contributions made. Speaking of which, I should probably get back to just that (Joan of Arcadia story). So, here I am. Hope I'll be able to make this site a regular stop!
