lol. Oh, those crazy posters.
People get defensive if a movie they like is going to be remade. I hardly ever post on actual movie boards because of people surrounding them. Except Alpha Dog, I've been on there alot. I mainly stick to Buffy, Angel, maybe an actor's page and a band & the band members page.
I'm gonna have to set aside a specific date in January just to go see Fanboys. I don't watch SW, but I don't think it matters. Maybe might help to watch a few of the SW movies to get more of the film, though, right?

I feel the same way. I'm not big into SW. I like the movies, and I will surely watch them again before I go see Fanboys. But I'm not a SW fangirl, not at all. I will admit to being a Trekkie, though.
I'm not sure if I can see the movie in January. I might fly to the US end of January, because I'm crazy like that, but I'm not all that sure yet. I mean, it is a 600 EUR flight after all. At least I can lodge free at Deb's place. If the German release will only be a few weeks after the US one, I don't think I'm gonna spend all that money. So for now it's more waiting. Like we're not used to that...... :waiting:

I watched Star Treck and Star Wars. But I am not a fangirl, I just like the movies. I still haven't seen all SW movies though. I am planning to do this. Let's see if I manage to watch them before Fanboys.

I've seen the original SW trilogy MANY times over. I like them a lot. Don't know, the new trilogy just didn't appeal to me at all, I guess because I tend to focus on actors more than anything. Without the original cast, I just found that I didn't care.

I'll probably rent the movies before going to see Fanboys. So I know to expect odd glances at renting out all the Star Wars movies they have.:embarrassed:

Looks like behind the scenes folks only are expected at SDCC. In the UPDATED section, I found this...
6:00-7:00 Fanboys— Fanboys is an uproarious comedy that follows a group of young friends on a cross-country quest to break into Skywalker Ranch and see Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace before it is released. Fanboys is a Weinstein Company presentation being released in theaters by MGM on January 18, 2008. Stars Dan Fogler (Balls of Fury), Chris Marquette (Joan of Arcadia), and Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) join writer/director Kyle Newman and producers Matt Perniciaro and Dana Brunetti for a Q&A session. Room 6CDEF
Categories: Fandom | Movies
BTW, not that this means anything to anybody else, but Dana Brunetti is Kevin Spacey's producing partner and co-owner of TriggerStreet.

And I remember the name Dana Brunetti, I think I noticed it when I was looking at those pictures at their website some time ago.

Of the Star Wars films, the first Trilogy (1977-1983) is the best ones.
Of the Prequels I only like 2 of them. The first one, The Phantom Menace, is pretty bad in my opinion. Jake Lloyd is a bad actor in this.
The other 2 are much better.
I just wish that they would have started the Prequel Trilogy with the Teenaged Anakin, I could care less about the little boy Anakin.
Someone mentioned Star Trek.
If I had to rate them, this is how I would rate them.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Director's Cut - is much better than some think. The DC fixes alot of the bad FX shots. My rating: 7
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - is one of the best Sci-Fi films ever made. My rating: 9
Star Trek III: Search for Spock - A fun Trek film, but one where you should be a Trekkie to understand some of it, especially all of the Vulcan stuff. My rating: 7.5
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - One of the best Sci-Fi films ever made, funny to boot. Plus a nice message.
My rating: 9
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier - Not only the worst of the Trek films, but also one of the worst films ever made. To sum it up, Why does God need a spaceship? My rating: 2
Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country - Almost as good as Khan. Great battle scenes. Good send-off to the original crew. My rating: 8.5
Star Trek: Generations - The pass the torch off to the Next Gen. cast. Good, but not up there as one of the best. My rating: 6.5
Star Trek: First Contact - Right up there as one of the best, The best of the Next Gen. films. My rating: 9
Star Trek: Insurrection - Fair effort, but nothing special. My rating: 5
Star Trek: Nemesis - An underrated Trek film. Some of the best battle scenes in any of the Trek films. Good villian. Good send-off of the Next Gen. crew. My rating: 8
They are very close to making it official. Looks like they have cast the 'new' Spock for the new film.
Well, everyone was expecting it to get announced at one point or another - more than likely at Comic-Con this weekend - but our sources at Paramount have just confirmed it - Zachary Quinto, the brain-eating freak (on TV) has dotted his I's, crossed his T's, and is officially on board to play Mr. Spock in the new J.J. Abrams helmed "Star Trek" film.
I still don't know what I think of the entire idea of a prequel film. Still think they should have jumped about 100 years from the Next Generation time period and have a new cast with a new Enterprise.

Thanks, Illinois. However, the image link doesn't work, so you can see Zachary Quinto here:

Damn, we thought Chris would be Spock!!! That bubble was just popped. LOL
I'm not so sure what to think about the prequel either. I was skeptic about Enterprise (the latest ST prequel series), but I ended up liking it very much. If they do the movie right, I might like that one as well. But the last two ST movies have taught me not to expect too much.

Illinois, can you give us a link to the pic? It doesn't show up. I can handle Quinto as Spock. Nice choice.
As for my Trek picks, I loved Wrath Of Khan, Search For Spock & The Voyage Home best of all. I've probably seen those 10-20 times each. The other classic Treks don't do much for me. I liked all of the Next Gen movies. Didn't love them though.
Incidentally, the blurb I posted for the Fanboys panel, that's for tonight at 6pm. It's the only Fanboys event that's listed on the official schedule.

Oh, PS: Skeet Ulrich is sitting on two panels at the con --- one for the TV Guide Hot Sheet and one for Jericho. Would've been cool if Chris was there and one of us was there. Maybe we could've gotten them together for a pic. Might work as insipration for that Miracles fanfic we're gonna write someday...

Yeah, somebody fixed it. I think the picture will only show up if you've been to the site with the picture of Zachary, though... But you'll see it when you click the link.
All that was ever announced for SDCC since the beginning was Kyle and production staff for a Q&A. They never mentioned any of the actors. Now I wonder if it was ever planned to have the actors there. I mean, we know that they asked Chris to go, but I find it hard to believe that of the five main cast members, none is available for a con that's near LA. But, well, I guess it's possible. Shame, though. No new pics of Chris. Now I guess we really gotta hope for Dragon Con. It's gonna be the next big one, isn't it?

Yeah Dragon Con is the next big one. Wish they'd hurry up and decided if they're coming to that one.
The actors may still show up to SDCC --- as fans. You never know. Didn't Kristen go last year even though she wasn't a *scheduled* guest? And who knows, Jaime might show up with Kyle...

Yeah, absolutely. I mean, they're pretty much all SW fans, our Fanboys actors. They'd surely have a good time, maybe meet up with other colleagues they haven't seen in a while. And Jaime might totally be along.

Just a little more about the new Star Trek film.
Star Trek
(December 25th 2008)
Appearing on stage were several producers, notably Damon Lindeloff and J.J. Abrams, and writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzmann. Abrams, who admits he was more of a "Star Wars" than Trek fan as a kid, confirmed that production begins in November and because he was so enamored with the script it is why he decided to direct. They're still trying to figure out a way of suitably fitting William Shatner in the movie in a way that's respectful. They're also still trying to figure out who'll play Kirk, but they confirm that Zachary Quinto will play Spock. Quinto appeared and said he plans to bring his own spin on it, but is respectful of Nimoy who approves of the casting and appeared in person to confirm that he'll put on the ears one more time. Why do it? "It was logical" plus he heavily praised the filmmakers and the script in particular.

I'm glad he got it. Zach's been wanting that role for awhile. It's so sad. He's the only actor that I actually spend time posting regularly of on IMDb. Sylar's cool.
Who will play Shatner's role?

Ladies, our man has HAIR! OMG!!! Now, it's not long, but it's THICK. He's not completely clean-shaven, but he only has very light stubble. He looks GORGEOUS tonight! I would die to be at Comic Con. They don't go to their panel for another 40 minutes. I could be talking to Chris and Kyle and Dan RIGHT NOW! Looks like they're the only ones who showed up.
I taped this and we'll get it online in decent quality soon. But maybe it'll turn up on the G4 website even sooner so that you can all see it.
He's wearing this strangely patterned like lavender button up shirt over what looks like a black tank top. He's got a big pendant on and a rather chunky silver bracelet. Extremely faded jeans. The shirt is really tight, almost like it's too small. Which is just HOT. Oh yeah, and the neckline of the tank top is so low you get a really good look at his little tuft of chest hair.
This is the most hair I've seen on him in ages. I think he's gonna look incredibly yummy in Infestation!
:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
Near the end, Dan makes him giggle. Literally. Giggle. God, I wish all of you could see this right now.
Hopefully, the SW bloggers will get some pics of the guys and get them online before too long. Maybe the fans at the autograph tables will come through for us too. Everyone cross your fingers!
I gotta go take a cold shower now.
