I personally wish they'd done something funky with the Abbey Road pictures.

Oh, was that her blonde head I saw in the panel?  I wonder why she didn't go get interviewed by the bimbo...

Re: Fanboys

At C4, they said that the lightsaber poster was just the 'Teaser', so hopefully we'll see the official one as the release date draws closer. I guess I don't mind the teaser poster(As long as we get an official one!) since it is paying homage to the old Return of the Jedi poster:

Ah, okay, that makes more sense now. Thanks for explaining. Us mere citizens wouldn't know about that original poster. tongue Sorry. I bow in your humble presence. :grovel:

Re: Fanboys

So, Sean, what do we need to do in terms of preparations to fully appreciate Fanboys, come January (or whenever)?

Re: Fanboys

Hmmm....
I think you guys touched upon it earlier. Watching the movies again would be the best way to prepare. In fact, I think I will make this mandatory . tongue
They crack a few jokes about Episode One in Fanboys,(At Jar Jar's expense) but since the prequels hadn't been released at the time, you really only need to watch what we call the "OT"(Original Trilogy: Episodes IV-VI). big_smile
Which shouldn't really be punishment for anyone , even if you aren't a Star Wars fan. But you guys already know all that.
Once you have the OT fresh in your heads, you'll recognize a lot more of the quotes in Fanboys that are pulled directly from the movies, plus there's the cameos and sound effects thrown in too.
I'll be keeping track of who's seen what too! Lol

Re: Fanboys

LOL! You're on, Sean. I have the originally, untouched OT movies here too. Not the retouched new age versions, it's the real deal. I'll be watching those before I go see Fanboys. I think I have the other three movies as well, but I'm not really sure. Episode I for sure, but I don't know about II and III. But I know where I can get them, should I feel the urge to rewatch them.

Re: Fanboys

How am I supposed to do that, I don't have the movies and I doubt I'll get the jokes when I watch it only in English.

Re: Fanboys

I'll be splurging at the video rental store when Fanboys is about to be released. Maybe the weekend before. So I'll be able to have the SW films fresh in mind. I swear, I'm training myself for Fanboys.

Re: Fanboys

Another fun thing to do is watch all the SW tribute shows that they've been running this year.  They're fun and they give you an overview of the whole universe.

Also, I highly recommend the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode.  It's both funny and informative.  lol

Re: Fanboys

I've noticed the History channel giving a show about Star Wars, so I'm thinking the next time it's on I'll watch it. I'll watch Robot Chicken sometimes, but I haven't seen that clip. I'll try Youtube.

It's a shame what I'll do to watch a movie and be able to enjoy it to the ultimate maximum.
Like, the movie Bully, I bought the book and movie the same night and read the book first then watched the movie so I could get the characters and back stories more. The fact that it's based on a real crime just makes it so jolting. Sad movie.

When's the next time you'll probably meet Chris, do you know?

Yea, you're right -the History Channel had some really cool ones on. Oh and I absolutely love the Robot Chicken tribute to SW. There's gonna be a Family Guy tribute too.

Re: Fanboys

Mutant, the Robot Chicken thing is not a clip. It's a whole 30-minute episode.  On the Robot Chicken scale, it's an EPIC.

As to when we'll meet Chris again, we don't know for certain, but we are hoping that he's coming to Dragon Con in Atlanta with the Fanboys gang on Labor Day weekend.  As soon as we know if it's happening, we will let you guys know.

And I'm a sucker for absorbing everything about movies I love too. I'll be picking up Mehas's book Stolen Boy as soon as I can either get it from the library or afford to buy it.  I can't get enough Alpha Dog somehow.

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, I'll probably end up reading it as well.

A 30 minute Robot Chicken? I thought they were only 15 minutes long, it must be epic.

Re: Fanboys

Of course it's an epic, it was made by geeks to celebrate 30 years of Star Wars.  You would expect something less?

I guess not. I think Star Wars geek and television show, i always think of Topher Grace as Eric Forman in That 70's Show. "They're not dolls, they're action figures."

Re: Fanboys

Thanks! The direct image links don't work, but you can see them when you go to that page you linked. (Illinois linked the Fanboys group shot and the teaser poster.)

The funniest thing about this is that the image with Chris holding the head originally came from me. I made that collage a long time ago from a picture we clandestinely got our hands on and put the Fanboys writing with the yellow border in there. Somehow, even though I don't recall posting it officially, someone got his/her hands on it and reposted it at IMDb. Ever since then it's been all over the internet. Now I kinda wish I had put a little signature in there. tongue

Chris is on the right, though. On the left it's Jay Baruchel.

Illinois, you're so cute.  Did you think you really needed to point out to us which person in the cast is Chris?  wink
