Yeah, I started a thread on the Square Eyes board. I'll probably see it a bunch before it's over with.

I got this email tonight from Christian Macht who just released a SW DVD titled The Force Among Us(TFAU)-He does an internet talk show that will be live tomorrow. Probably not the type of subject matter that would be appealing to you guys, other than the fact that Kyle Newman will be a guest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE ABOUT THE FORCE AMONG LIVE! - EPISODE III TOMORROW!
KYLE NEWMAN (DIRECTOR OF FANBOYS) WILL JOIN US ALONG WITH THE 501ST!
follow this link to get in on the show (its sunday at noon central
time)http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/ta … 926&cmd=tc
here is the official pressrelease:
The Force Among Us - Live is an interactive show on TalkShoe that allows fans of the highly anticipated documentary film to speak directly to the Cast, Crew and now, just confirmed for Sunday's show, director of Fanboys,Kyle Newman.
TFAUL Episode 3, "The 501st: Old School vs. New School" will be this Sunday,
August 19th, 1:00PM EDT at http://show.tfau.net. If you are a member, SW
costuming fan, or would love to hear how Kyle Newman feels about the 501st,
join us. This will not be a Jerry Springer screaming match, but a chance for
Old Schoolers and New Schoolers to discuss how the 501st has changed over the years, good and bad. Cris Macht, TFAU director, has spent his pre, mid and post-production budget to make sure that the 501st had a large section of the movie. He feels that the 501st has a special place in Star Warsfandom, but also realizes that there is controversy within the 501st and outsider SW costumed fans, as well. This show will give both sides a chance to voice their views. Don't miss this once in a lifetime event.
That's very cool. Thanks, Sean. So tonight for me that's 7 PM. Perfect time. I'll make sure to tune in.
Anyone wanna call in and ask Kyle a question live on the air?
Anne and I listened to the whole thing live. While it was very interesting (I learned a lot about the 501st Legion!), we didn't learn anything about Fanboys. They basically only mentioned the movie twice, that was it. Kyle said a few interesting things about the fandom and what SW fans are like, but it's not really worth listening to if you're just in it for Fanboys. They mentioned Dragon Con once, and I was hoping Kyle would maybe comment on it, but he didn't.
Still, thanks for posting the link, Sean. Are you a member of the 501st?
How could they mention Dragon Con without him commenting? What did they say?
It was cool listening to that, although Cooper (laptop) crashed once and I had some difficulties to understand because the sound was pretty bad at some points.
They had, like, five different people on the line, Kyle didn't have much of a chance to say anything of substance. They were talking about the 501st and how sometimes it's not allowed for them to take their helmets off when they appear at events, to keep in character. And then they said that there are other more informal events, like Dragon Con that's coming up, where it's cool to take your helmet off and talk to the kids, so they see there's a real person beneath the uniform. Kyle wasn't asked to comment on that, and he didn't really have a reason to either because that part of the conversation wasn't about the con, it was about the costumes.
That sucks. Hey, it's your turn to post a new Linus pic, right? I think we really need one.
That's cool that you got to listen to it. I was hoping he would be able to say more about Fanboys, but I guess they were trying to stay on topic...that stinks.
Yea, Both Ken and I are members of the 501st as well as a handful of other people who were in the film. I'm kinda interested to hear what they had to say...I'll have to check it out tonight if it's available for download.
I think you can listen to it later on. If not, I can send you the CD with the whole thing since I recorded it. Let me know, I can take it with me when I visit Deb next week.
Can you send it to me too, please, I missed a part of it since Cooper crashed at one point. It doesn't need to be on one of the DVDs, maybe we can do this with Yahoo sometime.
The file's gonna be huge, even as an MP3, Anne. I think I need to put it on a CD.
I'm really excited to see her on the show, since it's one of my favorites. It's also one of the few that I follow as it airs, I'm much more partial to TV on DVD these days. I'm sure she'll do a great job -- I loved Veronica Mars, it destroyed me when they cancelled it a few months back.
I'm the same way. I always get into shows late when their off the air, and I get into reruns or it's the last season. Heroes is the only show now that I've actually followed from The pilot, Genesis, to the finale. Can't wait till the new season.
Same here. I've followed my 2 favorite shows from the premiere up until now: Lost and Heroes.
Thank goodness for DVD because I can finally watch Buffy and Angel! -I'm on seasons 5 and 3 respectively there.
Hey, two of my favorite seasons, respectively. I love Glory as the villain in Buffy S5 and Justine, the red-haired, kick-ass wannabe slayer is Angel S3. We seriously need a Buffy/Angel thread on the Square Eyes board!
The only show I recently rabidly followed from the very first ep was JoA.
