Aw, I like the pictures, Anne! The shirt is really cool, too.
Er, when is the premiere? Are we still talking about January 18th here (most likely not)?
My life long dream is to somehow get Adam Rove into a puppy-suit. Until then, my imagination will have to tide me over.

So far no one knows if Jan. 18 is gonna be the actual release date. Seeing how the new J.J. Abrams movie is supposed to open that same date. There's rumors out there that if that happens, Fanboys might be pushed back another week or two (or eight or so). But that's all it is right now--rumors.
The premiere would probably be a week or two before the official release date, if they get to have a "real" premiere. But we're hoping that they will. Sean might be able to shed more light on this. Sean?

Hm. Well, if they pushed it back that would probably work better for me, considering I may have to go out of town the weekend of the 18th. Still, good for clarification... Where would said premiere take place, anyway?

Most likely Los Angeles. And I don't suppose you can get in if you're not personally invited... Which none of us are, except maybe the Mos Alba guys who were extras in the movie.
And don't worry. You'll know when we know more about the premiere.

Los Angeles? Ick. Too far away, even I could go. I'll just settle for seeing it the night it premieres in theaters, probably.
I'll keep patient for information - or I'll try at least. I'm not a very patient person.:embarrassed:
And now for my stupid question of the night: Who exactly is Sean? I've seen him post around here and I know he's pretty important, but... Who is he? *total noob-feeling*
EDIT: Hey... I'm Unchallenged now! ^_^ That makes me pleased.

Don't worry, it's not a stupid question. Sean may very well be the one who got all this started, us running the website and all. Before we met Chris, Sean was one of the first persons to tell us Chris is one of the nicest and most down to earth persons. Which we can only second now.
Sean, please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the info I have on him: He's a member of Mos Alba, which is the local Albuquerque Star Wars fanclub. When Kyle Newman decided to shoot Fanboys in NM, they asked the Mos Alba people to help out with props and also with being extras in the movie. Sean did both and thus has lots of background info on the movie.
The rest of it I'll leave to Sean to explain himself. All I can add is: He's a really cool and funny guy and I'm glad we roped him in. Look at Sean's signature banner, it has (among others) Chris and Sean himself in it, it was taken at a party in NM:

Sean's in the middle of the group pic in the Michigan cap with the thumbs-up and Chris is the one with the hat and beard, in case you didn't recognize him.

Thanks, you guys. I didn't recognize Sean, but of course I knew which one was Chris. ^_^ Well... All I can say is thanks to Sean, then! Glad he inspired a place where all us fans can hang out.

Aww shucks guys. You're giving me far too much credit. :embarrassed:
Basically what happened is our Fan Force group here in Albuquerque was approched by the 'makers' of the film. They had asked for assistance in using costumes, armor, props, toys, etc in the film since this was going to be a very low budget film and they would not be able to supply it all on their own. Members loaned out their Star Wars items, ranging from action figures to full blown replica costumes. All those helmets you see in the "Fanboys" pic that Teejay 'edited' are from members of Mos Alba and the 501st. Our club as well as friends and family were given the opportunity to take part in the filming of the theater scene which you will see towards the end of the film. I wore my Stormtrooper armor in that scene, as well as Ken. There's also a dream sequence which incorporates Stormtroopers and a Boba Fett, all worn by our members.
A lot of us were also cast as Trekkies/Trekkers since the local Star Trek club was not interested in making fun of themselves. . We took part in scenes at a local casino(Santa Ana) and up in Las Vegas, NM.
Other members were cast in other positions too. A THX1138 guard, stand-ins for the actors, prop making, costume making, etc...
Me and a few other members were posting about our experiences on IMDB when I saw Deb inquire about Chris. I was pretty pumped up about our involvement and had a few stories to share so I joined the CM site.
Before filming actually began, Ken had a birthday party at his house for another member and during this party, he received word that the cast and crew were actually gonna stop by to say HI. Sure enough, Kyle, Matt, Kristen, Chris, Sam, Dan, Jay, etc....all come walking through the door about 30 mins later. We all chit chatted for awhile and ended up taking group pics with the cast which is where that pic in my sig came from.
I mentioned in a previous post that I'm gonna spend the entire movie, the first time I see it, saying Hey there's Me! There's Ken, there's Scott's Fett suit, etc...:D
Everyone from the group that took part has their own special memories, but mine would have to be that party at Ken's house and then being invited to Sam Huntington's B-day party on the last day of filming. That was so much fun. He even had a Darth Vader cake.
Another special memory was being allowed to visit the set, where we got to see the Kirk/Kahn statue being constructed, got to hang out in the Trash Compactor, and also hang out in the Hotel Rooms and Lucas' Prop room(Which was still a work in progress).
After filming, we were allowed to take parts of the sets, with the Set Director's permission which was pretty fun. I took a few random things here and there, while other's grabbed the door to the Trash Compactor, someone else got the sliding doors to the prop room that you see Dan jumping through in the trailer, etc. I'm trying to go through storage so I can post some pics of the props I got. In due time I guess.
Well, I'm totally rambling--haha.
There's a ton of other stories that could be told
but I hope this helps summarize the fan force's involvement in the movie.
I remember awhile back that one of our members, Joe, received an email from one of the producers saying that the group was invited to the premiere in LA(Or maybe they were asking if the group was gonna be able to make it)---back when it was supposed to be released this year. April I think? If this still stands, then it looks like the premiere will indeed take place in L.A.. We will more than likely do something special here in Alb for the release as well, since we are beyond excited to see this.
I'm not really an expert on the movie since I was only an extra, but I did read the script, took my own pics of the experience as well as was given pictures from the filming, and had some interaction with the cast and crew, but I try my best to answer any questions you guys may have based on my experiences and what people share with me. It's been a fun ride.
oh, and for the moment, the release date is still 1-18-08.

He did way more than that and one of these days we'll be able to show you.

... I am totally not worthy enough to be talking to you people.:grovel: Here I am, proud of my few brief encounters with several voice actors, and you guys have actually had coherent conversations and interactions with various actors and such, even to the point of being an extra in a movie (Sean). It's amazingly overwhelming. xD
Oh, and Sean? I have a strong feeling my brother would die if he ever found out I was talking to someone who actually got to be on the set of a Star Wars affliated movie.

LOL. I understand that. That's why our group was so pumped to take part in this production since we are huge SW fans.
When Fanboys was 1st presented to us, it sounded more like a small, fanfilm---a cool idea that we would help with over a weekend or two....but when we started hearing more about it and who was affiliated with it, we were all shocked and couldn't wait to see what would happen.
Hearing that it had so much success at the Celebration in Europe was an extra plus.
Being an extra in the movie with fellow fans/friends was an unforgetable experience, but I am seriously one of the nerdiest people you will ever meet and in no way deserving of praise.:embarrassed:
I just love sharing my experiences with people and I am so happy that I have been able to create new friendships with you guys in the process.

Being a nerd does not mean you aren't deserving of praise. Being a nerd is an awesome thing.
Seriously, though, it's pretty amazing that Fanboys grew from something seemingly small to...well, William Shatner's in it, and they got to film at Skywalker Ranch. That's pretty freaking amazing.

Very true. They got to do things that film makers could only dream of. Not only did they get some cool actors, and filming locations, but they got the blessing of Lucas and were able to use music and sound effects from the Star Wars films.
All they need now is some Fanboys action figures!

Having a little Chris Marquette to hold in my hands. ...Hmmmm... ... :embarrassed: Ah, yes. Despite obvious reasons, having Fanboys actions figures would be pretty cool. All the über-nerds could place them along side their Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi figures.

 Naturally. All men must buy one of those (just like all women must buy a Chris action figure).

Agreed!
If I had the skills, I would actually make some custom Fanboy figures, plus the van! Which reminds me of a line from the film when Sam's bro first sees the van, "Looks like the A-Team van took a dump!"

LOL! Sean, you're hilarious. Not a lot I can add, except that I think we're all nerdy in our own way. Which I consider a good thing. Man, the Albuquerque Trekkies were too stuck-up to be in the movie? That's so sad! The guys from our Trek-Dinner would have jumped at the chance to be in a movie, even if it made fun of Trekkies!

What I'm oh-so-sheepishy saying is there's a very strong possibility that you just might be able to. We should talk about it off the board.
