Re: Fanboys

Like I really care that anyone knows I have a dirty mind.  What I think is funny is that Kyle had no idea he was going to be dealing with a hardcore estrogen brigade when he hired Chris for the movie.  lol

Of course I did! That was the funniest part. Believe me, Kyle can take it.

Re: Fanboys

The Fanboys MySpace "stole" my Abbey Road banner:

FanboysBanner.jpg

It's on their page twice now, once in big and dark (they inverted it) and once in its original form with the yellow rim. Of course they didn't give credit, though it might be that they just took it off Kyle's MySpace. He didn't give credit either, but at least he asked before using it. One more thing from us that's gonna be all over the internet.

But, by God, their MySpace page is all over the place, design-wise. You still can't see it properly in Firefox. In fact, I pretty much hate it, and they don't seem to want to listen to reason.

And it's not just us getting frustrated. This was in their comments:
Mrs. P. To-Be.

I really hope that this film is going to be worth it after how many pushbacks. I've been waiting since I first saw the trailer to see this movie. I really hope I'm not disappointed when it does come out. Making people wait for a movie is just not cool. =)

Re: Fanboys

The inverted version looks crappy. (Sorry Tina, you know how much I love your version. I just can't understand how somebody could think of inverting it!)
Well, I kind of expected that they're not going to change the layout, no matter how many people sent them messages about the firefox problem. They just don't care.

Yeah, also because they blew up a 350 pixel wide image to two and a half time its size. Which will always look crappy. You know, all they would have needed to do to get a decent quality pic is ask me, but then they probably don't know that the image came from me in the first place. Beats me why they would want to invert it. I think they just wanted something dark that goes with the top banner, so there wouldn't be a stark black/white contrast.

Of course I care about my picture, but I can live with them mangling it up as the rest of their page sucks anyhow. They will never have any exclusive material before we have it. And we already have so much more than they do. I've once made the effort of sending them links and stuff to put it on their page. I neither received an answer nor saw any of it go up on the page. Their loss. I don't care about their site anymore. It's just a shame that Kyle himself heavily supports it when it pretty much sucks.

We should go and open a second, real Fanboys MySpace page. It would pale in comparison. big_smile

Re: Fanboys

I know that it looks crappy because they blew it to that size. But well, the myspace page is not even run by official guys, is it? I bet they wouldn't even bother to take it down if you'd ask them.

No, it's not official at all. Kyle didn't even know who ran it when he co-hosted that force.net podcast. But he loves it, keeps telling people to make it their "Friend", so why would they take it down?

No, I meant if you would ask them to take your banner down, but I wasn't insisting that you should do that.

Nah, it's fine that the banner's up there. It's cool that people love it so much they wanna use it. Kyle knows it's from me, and that's what really matters.

Re: Fanboys

I'm sure Kyle doesn't mind the page because it's giving the movie publicity, nothing wrong with that-- but as far as the content or layout of the page...It really doesn't bother me because I don't visit it. big_smile

I think we're trying to hold it to higher standards because we know so much more about the movie-maybe a second, more informative page would be cool. wink

Re: Fanboys

Sean, I'm not inclined to invest too much energy into it right now until we hear if they got the additional footage shot on schedule and nothing's gonna screw up the January date.  I don't mind it being pushed a week away from JJ Abrams.  But we can't get anyone to answer us about the status.  And Kyle was recently bitching again about everybody not being available.  I'm worried.

Re: Fanboys

I also doubt the 1/18/08 date.
We're probably not getting any answers because 'they' probably don't even know. I'm sure they'll be a lot more confident about the release date once those re-shoots are completed. I mean the movie was already completed in a sense, and the extra scenes aren't essential to telling the story. Don't get me wrong, I wanna see these new scenes as much as anyone, but I'm also okay with them adding them onto the DVD later if they can't get it all together by Jan 2008. I just wanna see the movie dag nabbit!!

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, me too.  TeeJay and I are convinced that they haven't shot anything because no one will just say yes or no to a flat-out question about it.  If the answer was yes, they'd be thrilled to tell us.

Re: Fanboys

I thought about opening a second MySpace page. But only for, like, a split second. I don't have the kind of time to do another page on top. Plus I'm just leery about what's going on. If we hear about another two or three or four months pushback because they just can't get the cast back together for those reshoots until December or whatever, I'm done supporting the movie. I've loved it from the beginning, but I even my patience wears out. The excitement is already dwindling down, and if we have to wait another few months for it, I'm done. You can't expect even the most hardcore fan to hang around drooling for a movie that was supposed to be released over a year ago.

Sure, I'll still watch it. And probably love it. But that's about it.

Re: Fanboys

No, no bad news, at least not that we know of. We were just speculating. It's getting a little frustrating because no one will tell us if they've already shot the new scenes or if they're currently shooting them or what. I just have a feeling that it's gonna take them way longer than planned. Kyle first mentioned September, which is well over by now. I'm pretty sure we'd know if they shot something in September. Doesn't sound like they're doing anything right now, and Tisha mentioned Chris might go to North Carolina in November for three weeks, so it doesn't sound like anything's gonna happen in November. And we all know that there's no way the movie's gonna be released in January or even early February if they only start shooting the new scenes in December. Or God knows when.

It was the e-mail where she mentioned the horror movie, it's from last week or the week before. You should have that one. Look in the Doghouse, I think it's posted there.

Re: Fanboys

Okay, here's more "proof" that they haven't started shooting yet. Tisha said Chris hasn't cut his hair other than a trim for a while and she was talking about his beautiful locks. That means it can't be Linus length. And I can't believe his mom is also talking about his hair. LOL (For the record, she loves it longer, just the way we do.)
