Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

She sure is!  I know it was about an hour that she hung around talking to us.  Her attitude was that those people had come to see her and that she wasn't going to be anything but cordial and appreciative.  I hadn't brought a camera (I always believe them when they say not to bring cameras or they'll be confiscated. Psych!), but we talked about Arkansas for a few minutes.  (Both of my parents are from there.)  We didn't know any of the same people, but we knew some of the same families.  She is just as sweet and unaffected as she can be.

I'm fairly sure I answered that before, but it's Nicholas Cage from the movie 'Next'.

I must've missed it somehow and I ready every post.  I have zero knowledge of that movie.

Haven't seen it either. Found the pic on the net and I sort of like how that device is keeping his eyes open. Sort of how I feel like sometimes.

Anyway. I just got the Starbucks Best of Saturday Night Live '06/'07. Got it off of E-Bay. Plus inside was a bonus disc of an episode of 30 Rock (which I haven't seen).

I don't know why, but the pic reminds me of Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.  And I've noticed you online at all hours, Illinois.  Do you ever sleep?

In that pic, but not so much in the movie. Looks just like he did in Ghost Rider.

I haven't seen Ghost Rider. I know only a couple of his movies, because I'm not that much of a fan of him.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I think Nicolas Cage is a really dull actor.  Not bad, just dull.  He's always so mono-toned, his movies put me to sleep.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I know it's a really stupid reason not to like the guy, but I don't like how his eyes seem to be too close together. I loved City of Angels, but I might have loved it more if someone other than Nick Cage had played the role of Seth.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I like Nic just fine.  I've never seen a movie because he was in it, but I never avoided one either.  I have loved him in the following movies:

Raising Arizona (flat-out brilliant)
Moonstruck (elevated by a luminous Cher performance)
National Treasure (right in my wheelhouse)

I've liked him in lots of others.  Like:

The Family Man (opposite a playful Tea Leoni)
Matchstick Men (nobody could've played that role better)
Valley Girl (classic 80's movie)

I watched Wicker Man a couple of weeks ago and found it deadly dull.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

National Treasure 2, coming soon.  As much as I don't care about sequels and popcorn flicks, I'll probably see this one because the first one was really fun.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I saw that one in theaters and didn't care for it so much. Well I just didn't like it as much as the other 2. My most recent DVD is Hostel part II, Which was almost impossible to get...I might add.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Meet the Robinsons was cute, but the first part sort of drags a little. And the T-Rex was in it for only a few moments. I wanted more of him. The best character was the villian. Which by the way was really easy to figure out who he really was from the beginning. It does get a little sappy towards the end.

I liked Spider-Man 3 more than #2. The first part of the film is a little slow and it's a little goofy at times with Peter Parker being cool with the women and thinking he's all that. But once Venom comes on screen it really picks up and the finale is more better than #2. I was surprised that they killed off a major character though, but anything is possible in these films so he/she could come back some how.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I never saw Meet the Robinsons. I only saw that on the commercial. That is probably why I didnt like the 3rd one so much thouhg. The part where he is good with the laides was a little ridiculous to me. haha

Then I bought this one from a charity garage sale for $2.50. Didn't notice it was Full Screen until I got home, but oh well.

I also bought this 3 pack from Wal-Mart for $15
