The pic for my avatar? It's one of the Fanboys ones. When they're around the big conference table with William Katt.

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Kauai, to be exact. In 1989. Pre-hurricane. The most unspoiled place I've ever seen. Paradise. Unfortunately, I was with the wrong person there. But still. I would give like a toe or something to go back. My dream was always to leave the real world and go there for a month and write.

Sometimes, especially at school. I don't know many people yet and usually the only thing to do is shop or sleep.

Sleep rocks, if you can get it. When I was in school, it was really boring here in Marietta too. Not so much anymore. There's usually something cool going on somewhere nearby for free all the time. I just like hanging at home too much.

The only place I've been outside of New Zealand, is Melbourne Australia (really far, huh :embarrassed: ). Anyway, Melbourne did rock, they have the most awesome shopping, and I was there when sales were going on, so got a lot of stuff really really cheap. New Zealand's still better than Aussie though.

You guys asked where we've all traveled. Of course for me in the heart of Europe it's easier to go to different countries. Let me see if I can give you a list of all the countries I've been to:
The Netherlands
Belgium
The UK (England & Scotland)
Ireland
France
Switzerland
Austria
Italy
Poland
Romania
The Ukraine
Greece (I was only 4 and don't remember anything)
Sweden
The US
Australia
New Zealand
Some of those countries I've "only" visited on business trips and haven't really seen (Poland, Ukraine, Sweden, New Zealand), but some of them I know quite well because I've been multiple times in different places (France, Netherlands, UK). I also know some parts of Germany. City-wise I've been to Cologne, Düsseldorf, Essen, Bochum, Dortmund, Munich, Hamburg, Freiburg, Mannheim, Heidelberg and Berlin only briefly. I've been in Bavaria, the Black Forest, the north east coast and the "Saxonian Switzerland" (hilly area in eastern Germany). But of course I'm far from really knowing my own country.
This year I'll travel to Miami (only a very short business trip where I don't think I'm gonna see much) and maybe also Budapest (Hungary) and a couple more countries that I can choose from those where our clinical trial is running. I'm thinking about a trip to Canada later this year, I've never been. Might end up being a business trip, let's see. It'll depend on a few things I'll only know later this year.
I really love traveling, but it can also get stressful if you have to take a lot of business trips over a short period of time. But still, it's really cool that my job allows me to travel quite a bit.

Wow that's awesome! What do you do? Or maybe you don't want to say that on the internet which is cool.

It's no secret what I do for a living. I work for a Belgian pharmaceutical company (in Germany, of course). My job is to oversee and organize the operational part of (currently) two of the global clinical trials we're running in Crohn's disease. And part of that is flying out to the investigational sites (= hospitals and practices) and check locally how the sites are performing and if everything is going according to plan. There are a lot of rules and regulations you have to adhere to when conducting clinical trials.
I'm a biologist by training, I have a Master's degree in molecular biology. (Shhhh, but I've forgotten most of it already.)
