Poor Kyle. His Myspace has been hacked and I keep getting spam comments from his profile.

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, I emailed Kyle after the very first spam to tell him that he'd better do something.  Guess he's not paying attention.  It's a shame.

We got really lucky with this interview because Jamey contacted us.  And well in advance, too.  It's was great of him to do that.  And it was a first for us.

Just something somebody drew and put on their website, that's what Sean said.  Besides, how could it be official since it's not exactly accurate?

Re: Fanboys

Spam's not fun... but that's a cool poster! I wish I was that talented.

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Re: Fanboys

Some dude on IMDb just posted this.

Excuse my language kids, but is Linus even in the goddam movie anymore?!?

by PavilionHP   4 hours ago (Sat Jan 12 2008 14:19:30)

I was at the movies this morning, and there were people handing out passes to a Fanboys test screening on Wednesday evening in Burbank at 7:30pm.

I got a pass, good for 2 people. If anyone here is in the LA area and wants my pass, send me a private message, and I'll be happy to give you the pass.

Also, just to let you guys know, it does appear that the whole "dying of cancer" storyline has been dropped from the film. The plotline on the pass says this:

In this riotous new road movie from producer Kevin Spacey, a group of avid Star Wars fans travels west with one goal: to see the Holy Grail of all sci-fi movies, Star Wars: Episode I. The only catch is it won't be released for another 199 days. Soon this group of fanboys hatches a Jedi-like plan to break into George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch to steal the seminal movie and watch it before anyone else can. Enlisting the help of an estranged friend who has traded in his Darth Vader mask for a real job, these fans let nothing stand in their way of seeing the movie, even if it means laying waste to a group of hardcore Trekkies, Skywalker Ranch Security Guards, or even George Lucas himself.

The movie stars Kristen Bell, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, and Jaime King. The film is unrated but will probably be rated PG-13.

I am seriously losing all hope for this thing.

Re: Fanboys

Sean, can you lay your hands on your copy of the script?  I think it's time for me to read the whole thing.  I can't stand it anymore.

Re: Fanboys

Yea, the poster was drawn by one of the crew members from Fanboys--At least that's my understanding-I borrowed it from their myspace page-I thought it was pretty cool and I had to share with you all! big_smile

Deb-I still have the script(The Jan 2006 Draft) and can share it with ya whenever you'd like.
I'm so frustrated with the news of Linus' illness not even being a factor. It's going to take away so much from this film. I wish we knew what happened with all of this.

Me too! It was the heart of the movie, why did they have to throw that away? :crying:
That makes me want to read the script too. sad

Re: Fanboys

Ah, so the rumors are getting more substantial. What a waste. If you ask me, the movie's doomed if they drop the cancer storyline. I'm not even mad anymore. Just sad and disappointed.

Now it sounds like they go and ask Eric to help them instead of making it all about Linus being sick. Wasn't it originally written that Eric meets all the guys again after a few years and then comes back when he realizes that maybe his friendship and loyalty to a dying friend is more important than living a "serious" life? That whole part would have to be rewritten/reedited. It's gonna be a mess.

And how's there gonna be a Carrie Fisher cameo if Linus doesn't have cancer anymore??? They'd either have to drop that scene or edit the bejesus out of it. And if that happens, the Weinsteins are even dumber than we all thought.

How do we get a copy of the version that was shown at Celebration Europe?????? Can we travel across the country to break into Kyle Newman's home or the Weinstein vault?

YEAH! We should definitely do that! And then Kyle is going to make a movie about THAT! lol

Oh God. I think I'm not even able to be mad or sad and disappointed about the movie anymore. I'll just look at the pictures and dream of the "good" times when we all were looking forward to the movie before it suffered all those crap changes. sad (Did I just say that grammatically right? I didn't know that my English could become so rusty about only one week offline. Sorry.)

Re: Fanboys

Thanks Sean!  I really wanna read it now.  And if they hack the movie up and ruin it, I'll be spreading the word on all the damage that was done to it far and wide --- fully illustrated with photos of the things that were cut.  Just like The Invisible, it will suffer my wrath for all the world to see.  And the Weinsteins can bite me.

Re: Fanboys

Not that it means anything to Fanboys, but the Weinsteins signed a deal with WGA that's very much like the one UA did.  So TWC can get back to work.  And there was much rejoicing...  neutral
