Man, this sucks. I know you guys have been looking forward to this movie even more than me, and it's been a long wait, for what? To find out that instead of killing Linus, they're opting to kill the movie. shit, this is just screwed up.

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I had no idea Chris's character had cancer. Ever since I found out about it though, I fell in love with the plot of the movie even more. I really wish they would keep it the way it was...

But, here's the ironic thing about all this. The official Weinstein page still advertises the movie as being released nationwide on Jan 18 and also mentions in their synopsis that one of the group "takes sick". Have a look: www.fanboys-themovie.com

Also, someone made some changes to the Fanboys wiki page. It now states:

The movie was again pushed back to eliminate a plot point of a friend dying of cancer as their motivation for the escapade for test audiences didn't laugh for at least five minutes after it had been revealed. Director Kyle Newman has stated the movie will be released in March or April. [3]

The [3] footnote links to our page as source. I hope people don't think that this "didn't laugh for five minutes" thing came from us, because it didn't. Did it? That's the first time I've read about it. And it's just ridiculous. So if a movie is titled a comedy, there cannot be five minutes on end without laughter??? Whose ridiculous idea is that? Now... let me guess. A person called Harvey?

I don't recall anyone saying that, some idiot probably just needed a reason and blamed us. I don't think I've ever laughed for five minutes straight, especially during a movie because then you miss so much. So I don't think either audience met their moronic standards.

I may have quote something from AICN that said Apatow's production company did research that said people will not laugh for 5-10 minutes after cancer is mentioned. What Wiki has is just an outright fabrication based on that. TeeJay can you ax that from the entry? It's crap. And I certainly don't want it linked to us.

Anyone can change any wiki entry. You don't even need a login for that. But I'll go and change it. I only found out because some people came to our site from that wiki entry, so people must have already seen it. I'll try to change it to something that's closer to the truth (and I'm only saying "closer" because I doubt we really know the truth--or at least all of it).

First they had one release date, then they delayed it. Then tehy delayed it again and again, and again, and again. Then they said it was coming out on 1-18-08. That came, and it wasn't out, and now it's supposed to be out in MARCH OR APRIL, and people are getting really, really, really, really fucking PISSED OFF!!! Please erase this as soon as you read it, mods.

Oh my, the Fanboys MySpace guys FINALLY changed their profile so that you can now also view the page in Firefox. It still looks crappy as hell, but what do I care? We'll know anything way before they do, probably. Although I gotta admit that I got the info about Ernie's latest blog via them.

Ernie Cline was asking Deb recently if she knew who was running the page since he was complaining about it not being viewable in Firefox too. Guess it takes the word of someone as "famous" as Ernie to finally be heard. Am I bitter? Nah. Not at all. :fedup:
