Wait a minute... IMDb lists Linda Park as an Infestation cast memeber. Those who watched the latest Star Trek incarnation, Enterprise, will know her. She played Hoshi. So Chris shot with her? Gotta ask him about that some time. No idea how big her role is, though. She might be one of the group of people Cooper befriends.

Just heard back from Kyle Rankin, he said that the UK release date is probably bogus and maybe just a projection. He's very happy with how the movie is coming along and it hopefully won't be long before they have a final cut.

Sounds wonderful. Can't wait!!

Well, I had an email exchange with Rankin today. He said we'll know for sure about Infestation playing TIFF very soon. The first few programs were announced today, including Midnight Madness, which is the program I kind of expected the movie to be part of. Nope. Not on the list. Don't know if that means it didn't make the cut or if it's just not part of that program. The rest of the films in the fest won't be announced until August. :clueless:

The good news he did have for me is that international distribution for the movie is already lined up. They're about to start shopping it to North American distributors and hopefully it won't take long to make a deal. He says there's a lot of interest. :dancing:

They have the line-up for TIFF '08 on the INDIEwire website (http://www.indiewire.com/ots/2008/08/to … 8_249.html), but Infestation is not listed. Looks like you just saved yourself a trip to Toronto, Deb.

Yeah, I was trying to get it at the TIFF website, but of course that user-unfriendly piece of crap site is having "technical difficulties". On the one hand, that sucks. On the other, it narrows down the choices for vacation.

I finally managed to get onto the TIFF website and did a search for the movie and for Rankin as a director. Nothing came up there either, so I guess that's as good a confirmation as any that the movie's not gonna screen there. Bummer. Hope Chris isn't too disappointed. I know Kyle will be. Let's hope they indeed bring the movie to theaters at the end of this year or beginning of next year. And I hope it's not gonna be another crappy small, limited release that's not gonna bring the movie to the cities where the Chris fans live.

Of course it's sad that the movie's not going to TIFF, but it's also a good thing for us since our plans to attend the festival didn't work out.
