Re: Just Friends

I think it only works when you've been to the site before. I tried accessing it from Bosco this morning and got a "forbidden" page.

Re: Just Friends

I only see a banner for Filmstarts.  And the poster I saw with the link is the fat Chris Brander one.  WTF is going on?

Re: Just Friends

Question: They're pre-premiering Just Friends in "my" cinema tomorrow night at 8. Dubbed into German, of course. Should I go? I kinda want to, even though I know the dubbing will suck. But I'm still curious. If I get too bored, I can always drift off and mentally write fan fiction, right? It's only gonna cost me 6 EUR.

Oh, I can already see how this movie is gonna be a big hit in Germany. Not. I checked if I can reserve seats and how many are already reserved. The huge amount of zero seats are already reserved. Wow. What a blockbuster. <end sarcasm>

So, who thinks I should go?

Re: Just Friends

Maybe you could go to check how they translated the ham thing ... that's the only interest I would have in the dubbed version. If I could afford it, I'd go and check that out and probably leave the theater after that. But it's your decision.

Re: Just Friends

Definately not one of my favorite movies but thank God for Chris because he made this movie bearable to watch.  We had seen it in one of my classes last year as part of a "nutritional evaluation" we had (we're not allowed to call them parties.)  So we watched this movie, which I so didn't want to.  But then I saw Chris!:D He was so hilarious in this movie and he was the only reason why I actually sat through it.

Re: Just Friends

Yeah, that is funny. smile

I've already seen the movie on DVD (in English). Felt the same way you did, SW. Didn't really like the movie, but loved Chris in it. He did indeed make the movie tolerable. The thing is, I've never seen Chris on the big screen. This would be my very first time, so far it's only been TV and DVD. Just Friends isn't the movie I would have liked for him to be my first big screen debut, but I guess I have to take what I can get.

Let's see how busy things are at work tomorrow and if I still feel like driving out to the cinema tomorrow night.

Re: Just Friends

Yeah calling parties a "nutritional evaluation" works.  Especially if you're in a health class like anatomy and physiology.

Re: Just Friends

Well, the movie itself is surely not a masterpiece, but it's funny once in a while. I ususally prefer drama, but I also love comedy, if it's not too silly. But sometimes I need a movie I don't have to think about that much, so JF sometimes comes in handy. LOL But of course I wouldn't watch it if Chris wasn't in it.

Re: Just Friends

I kinda like the movie, actually.  But I dig Ryan Reynolds, so... I've probably seen it 6 or 7 times now.  Of course Chris is my favorite part of the movie, but I like the rest of it too.

Re: Just Friends

Yeah, I didn't even know he was in this movie until I saw his name in the opening credits.  Everyone in my class just agreed to watch it and naturally I wasn't paying attention but at the moment I looked up, I saw his name go across the screen and I was like "No way!"  So when I watched it I only looked up at the screen when Chris was on.

Out of the entire movie he was the best part.  I'd never really seen this much of a comedic side to him so it was sweet!

Apart from Chris' stuff I think I laughed once. I think it had something to do with a lamp. I didn't think anything else was funny (bar chris).

Re: Just Friends

OMG!  You have to see it.  He is hilarious in it.  And he's in it quite a lot.  definitely worth a DVD rental.  The extras are funny too.  In fact, you wanna see more funny Chris, you should watch the clips we have here on the site from the DVD extras on Just Friends.  They are a hoot.  My avatar is from this one where he talks about how cold it was in Canada and how he felt like a Ken Doll when he walked outside.

This guy has great comedic skills.

Re: Just Friends

I'll have to check that one out today.

Just Friends was on HBO today.  I get a kick out of Chris every time!  lol(despite how lame the rest of it is.)  If it hadn't been for him then there'd be no point in watching.

Re: Just Friends

If you liked what Chris did in Just Friends, you'll like Girl Next Door. Especially since the movie is actually watchable. I mean, the non-Chris parts as well. It's kinda sweet and definitely funny. You'll see Chris with a naked torso and leopard underwear towards the end, too. tongue There's many classic lines in this movie ("Fine." - "Fine!" - "FINE!!") and Chris as Eli is just quirky and funny and somehow, even though a little porn-obsessed, still adorable. As Chris's movies go, this one's pretty high up my list. I wish I could see it in the theater now, because I didn't when it was showing. I didn't even know Chris back then either. Not sure he would have caught my eye as Eli. Wouldn't it be interesting to go back in time and find out? Can someone invent a time machine, please?

Oh great, you spoiled the best part already! LOL
Yeah, I'd definitely watch GND if it would still be in theaters, too. Maybe he would have caught my eye earlier. I love comedies like that. LOL
