Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

My mom sent me in with thirty dollars because she wanted ice packs and said I could buy Juno... I could have bought the special edition and one ice pack or the regular one and two packs, so I bought the two packs.  Damn expensive ice packs.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I bought another two DVDs on Saturday, The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain and I'm Reed Fish (Jay Baruchel movie). I didn't even know that movie was available in Germany, so I just bought it (since I've given up my hopes on Fanboys now ...). I already took a peek into it, it seems to be some cute little movie, just like I love it! smile

Oh God... Sabrina.  I haven't seen that in forever, I'm usually in school or something when the repeats play.  Man, I miss that show.

To Live & Die in L.A. is a very good thriller/action film. Owned it on Laser years ago.

John Q - I've seen bits of it on cable, but never the full movie.

Firewall is a blind buy.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

You bought a Nick Cassavetes movie. Yay! smile I think I saw it when it was in theaters, but I don't remember much of it other than I didn't dislike it. Let me know how you liked Firewall, I might wanna watch it on DVD some time if it's worth it. A friend of mine is a big Harrison Ford fan, but I don't think she saw this one.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Just watched Firewall. Very good film.

Paul was menacing as the villain, he even kills some of his own men.  Ford is good as usual and is very believable as the reluctant victim who is forced into stealing for the bank robbers. I am also so glad they didn't hurt the family's dog at all.

The 2 child actors are very good, especially the boy.

Of course at the end Ford kicks butt and the final fight is completely believable and based in "real life", unlike some films today that go too overboard.

Even though this has to do a lot with stealing money via computer I really liked that they didn't show a lot of scenes of just computer screens. I found it real funny when Ford was taking back the money via computer and saying to Paul "There goes another 20 million" until it was all gone.

If I had to rate it I would give it a sold B.
