I just like my men clean-shaven. Well, okay, there are some men on who a goatee looks really sexy.
Same here.
But cool video. It's just very quiet on Cooper, so I might watch it again.

Crap...
Our buddy, Frosy told IMDb that if the actors do strike, there probably won't be any actorly guests at this year's Comic Con --- and he's absolutely right. This just sucks more and more everyday.
I'm sure Fanboys will still screen, but I guess Kyle, Matt, Mark & Ernie will have to take it there just by themselves.
Actors' Impasse Could Affect Comic-con
Steven "Frosty" Weintraub, who runs the Collider entertainment website, has warned that if the Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers are unable to reach an agreement by early next month, actors would likely disappear from the July 24 Comic-Con convention in San Diego. "Most people go to Comic-Con to get a glimpse of some of the biggest actors working in the entertainment industry," Weintraub wrote. "Where else can a fan from Colorado show up and know their favorite actors will be there and they'd actually have a chance to get an autograph or ask them a question?" Weintraub, who says he was a "staunch supporter" of the Writers Guild strike is clearly opposed to the actors' tactics. If the writers and directors were able to work out a deal with the studios, he comments, "I'd like to think [a precedent] has been set over new media money and other residuals." Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday that Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, Nick Nolte are among some 60 actors who have signed a letter supporting the leadership of the Screen Actors Guild in its effort to persuade members of the American Federation of TV and Radio Artists to vote against the contract with the AMPTP negotiated by their union's leaders.

Someone just posted this on IMDb:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The film will be released WITH the cancer storyline. I just saw a teaser for the film at the office I intern at in Hollywood.
We already kinda knew that, but it's still great to hear it confirmed. :dancing:
Also, there's an interview with Ernie where he confirms it too: http://www.ugo.com/ugo/html/article/?id … ectionId=2

That's fantastic news! I can't wait to see the REAL version of Fanboys.
Offline
We just got an email update. Since the writer asked us not to say who we heard it from, we will not mention his/her name here. But any real Dorquette will know who it is. So tell the world that the real Fanboys is coming soon, just don't say who you heard it from... They're currently mixing the final version of the movie and it's confirmed that the cancer plot has been restored. Chris also just did some looping on the movie, we were told he's doing great and is excited.

Anyone listen to the Forcecast with Kyle last night? I'm guessing there's nothing new to report that we didn't know already, is there? They haven't uploaded the MP3 to their archives yet, let's hope it's there tonight when I get home. No idea how soon they usually make their podcasts available for download. I was hoping to find at least some halfway exciting news here this morning.
I also find it annoying that the Comic Con website doesn't mention anything about the movie. Kyle's not a special guest, the film's not listed for the independent film festival, and there's no listing for other movies they're gonna show. It's just two weeks until the con, and there's no schedule of events yet? Guess the people who go to the con don't really care and come for the con itself, not for certain events going on... Is the movie gonna be shown at Comic Con now or not?

1. I had no Internet at my house last night so I couldn't listen.
2. San Diego Comic Con is so HUGE that they cannot possibly list every guest and every event. They do try, but there's always lots of stuff going on that is not on the schedule.

1. That totally blows. Sorry to hear it.
2. I see. Kinda makes sense. I've never been to such a huge event. Guess we'll hear after the con what happened. Or maybe we'll know a little more after listening to the Forcecast.

You can download the MP3 and completely skip the first hour. This show is strictly for SW fans. Anyone else will be bored to tears. Kyle's supposed to show up at the beginning of the 2nd hour, but I'm a couple of minutes in and he's not on yet...

These guys can't even get Kyle on the phone. I'm 11 minutes into the second hour and so far they've been hung up on by whoever answered the phone on the soundtage and then they got his friggin' email. I'm running out of patience.

Kyle confirms that they got back the sound FX from Lucasfilm. I now firmly believe that Lucas may have been very instrumental in saving the movie.

Deb and I seem to have listened to the Forcecast at the same time. I think I was a little faster. Here's my take on it:
It's really funny, because they couldn't reach Kyle on the phone at first. They got hung up on at first, then they tried Kyle's phone and only got his voicemail ("Hi, you've reached Kyle Newman, please leave a message.") and then they called the number again that Kyle gave them and they got a Lucas Film voicemail ("You're calling outside of office hours, we're closed."). Hilarious! However, Kyle called them back and they finally started the conversation. So let me share some of what he said.
He was at the soundstage at Skywalker Ranch, doing the final mix of the film. He sent greetings to Ernie who he knew would be listening and Ernie would also be visiting the ranch later in the week. They asked Kyle whether he could say something about what has been going on with it, and Kyle said that the studio was experimenting with it for a while, trying to find a way to make it broader (yeah, and we all know how that went down!). Kyle tried to put it nicely ("they deviated a little from our original plans").
So, apparently what Kyle's doing right now is working on the final version (he called it the "definitive version") which is based on the first version of the movie that has been worked on for many, many years. He doesn't know what's gonna happen to the other version. He said that the original version was in a way finished a year ago, but he's really happy that he can now work on a few things that he wanted tweaked, fixed and improved. When he said that the cancer storyline was back in, the Forcecast guys gave a cheer: "Yay, cancer!"
Someone asked him if after all he went through with the movie, he would do another movie so closely related to his passion: Star Wars. He said that, if anything, it has only strengthened his opinion of the Star Wars community. And, yes, he would. He also gave another cheer to Ernie who was a big help through all of it.
Wow, Reuters called TheForce.net to put up a comment about the SDW campaign back when the whole controversy all started.
Someone asked if Kyle thinks the movie can live up to the hype that's somehow been created. Kyle said that if people expect a movie that is about friendship and also a fun road trip movie, a movie where people can identify with the characters, the fans will be satisfied. He also said that even though he's watched most of it 200 times, he still laughs at the funny lines and still finds new things in it because it's very dense with a lot of references. But there's also so much more to it than just the SW fan stuff. There's gonna be a lot of subtle sound stuff in it, like SW sounds that you won't immediately notice.
Still nothing definitive on Comic Con. Kyle said they're trying to do a screening there. It's not 100% sure, but everyone's trying to make it happen.
This is cute, Kyle said he has a nerd tendency. You think?
Someone asked Kyle if he thought the SDW campaign contributed to the latest changes (come on, they totally made them happen!) and if production companies tend use the internet more for possible audience reactions to the their pending releases. Yes, Kyle believes that the internet is used more and more to gauge instantaneous reactions and that it's much truer testament than you can ever get from a test screening. And of course, Kyle said, it has affected Fanboys. He said that sometimes he cringes and sometimes he cheers at what he reads online. He's just happy that he made such a fun movie that people can hopefully see soon and then hate it, or love it, or be indifferent. The internet has always been a part of Fanboys, he thinks that's how it got made. Kyle was both shocked and amused about the SDW campaign, he said.
Kyle also confirmed that they kept some of the stuff that was reshot last year because he liked it. He said it wasn't all bad. And he said now they're making the movie better than it has ever been.
Release date: Kyle couldn't give a date. There's something that's being discussed right now, definitely this year. I quote, "It's gonna be very soon." That's all he said. Dare I say... September?
They finished off with some geek talk about action figures, DVDs and Kyle's ringtones.
At the end Kyle personally thanks everyone who's supported the movie so far. You're welcome, Kyle.
In a nutshell: We haven't learned anything new. Still no release date, still not sure if it's gonna be at Comic Con. But there were some interesting tidbits at least.

They kept some Brill stuff, but it was by KYLE'S choice. He liked some of it. And he finally got to do all that stuff he'd been telling us for like a year he wanted to do.

Sheesh, some dude on IMDb is suggesting we create a petition for the Weinsteins to release the movie in August. Yeah, clever thinking. Awesome idea. Only it's gonna accomplish exactly nothing. They're already pushing for a release this year, and we've been told squeezing a nationwide release spot in on such short notice is almost impossible.
I'm still hopeful that the movie's maybe gonna be released in September or October. What else can "very soon" (as Kyle said) mean?
