Larry, I got some private information from a two very good sources this past week who said that neither the date nor the number of screens is set in stone yet. Things are still being negotiated between TWC and MGM. Lest you worry that my sources are not as legit as yours, one of them invited me to a special screening TBA very soon.

And that's the difference. You're not just "reporting" news. You're taking sides and have strong opinions -- which is fine. You have good reason to.

Your distrust, cynicism, lack of faith in TWC, whatever, colors your ability to simply report news or comment on what others report. And I'm not questioning your reasons for doing this, so please don't feel the need to defend your position. I understand.

BUT please don't infer that when I post about a date or what I've heard that I'm putting any faith in TWC any more than you. On a number of occasions here and elsewhere I've posted information that I got and some interpreted my posts as being opinions rather than informational.

I am NOT "taking sides" here. I only post here because I thought that the readers would like to see the information. In fact, at one point I was criticized for NOT coming here to post information I had. When I DO come here, my posts are met with derision.

Attack the information and the source but please don't attack the messenger. I feel that the responses to my posts have been unnecessarily personal.

The difference between you and me on this issue is that I try to be neutral (unless I clearly state otherwise). I don't blame you for having a strong opinion. But if I post information that is contrary to what you believe please do NOT think that I am posting it because I am arguing with your position.

Larry, you are TAKING this personally. And it's very childish. I have never said a word to you that could be considered personal. And I think anyone reading these silly arguments would agree. I am not attacking you, deriding you, doubting you or anything else. This is and has always been about TWC. If I have to say that one more time I think I am going to scream. Can we drop this already? It's getting very annoying. If not, please take in to private email. We don't like arguing on our boards. This is not IMDb.

And yeah, bottom line, I trust my sources a hell of a lot more than I will ever trust anyone at TWC. I would suggest you might want to give them a follow-up call and re-confirm the date if it's so important to you. As you know, in Hollywood anything can change on a dime. And that may be what has happened. Something changed.

Edited to add that I just got word that an announcement will likely be made this week. So we can end this once and for all.

Seriously, calm down guys. The info we got is the info we got and we will just have to take it at face value. There is no point worrying about the date changing (again) till it actually does change. No one is questioning your info Larry. I am sure it is extremely accurate info, RIGHT NOW, but we all know the date could change anytime. And we trust that you will let us know if you find out anything earlier than we could find out on our own.

Well, I am looking forward to seeing the film (more and more actually) whenever it may come out, and Deb (as you know) I have always trusted you as my source of information re: all things Marquette, as you are in a position to know what you do.

It's not the quality that irks me, it's the fact that someone in charge should be putting this up somewhere on a more official site for everyone to see and to link to and show to people. I'd put it on our front page as a News bulletin if it wasn't a YouTube vid. If they want the movie to come out on Sep 19, they're a tad late with promotion. I have a feeling there's not gonna be any promotion to speak of. Just so Harvey gets his satisfaction when the movie tanks because no one but the geeks who've been following it for all these years are gonna watch it.

They could do so many things, promotion-wise, things that are cool and awesome that will get the broad public really geeked up. Because we know these guys have the material for it! Instead there's not even an official announcement out yet that the movie's gonna be released when everyone said it's gonna be released. There's no trailers showing anywhere. There's no nothing.

Oh, alright. I thought your post referred to the video being a a crappy quality. I read it that way.

That said, I quite agree with you that promo'ing this thing is kicking off quite late in the game!

Now, isn't the promotions lead time usually about ... TWO months, TeeJay? 2 months before the release of any film?

Also, why not put up the YT video on this Site's front page, or ...?
I mean, this is where you can guarantee it will be viewed and appreciated.
Or, does this site not put up YT stuff?

We have standards. Not sure I really wanna link to that wobbly video. Besides, I don't know if the official Fanboys guys would want for us to promote unofficial stuff like that. Guess they wouldn't mind as long as we're promoting the movie, but I'd rather not take any chances.

I don't know what the usual lead time for promo is, but I know that one month just seems way too short to have much of an effect.
