Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I've never read the book. Maybe I should.  I just never came across one. I've never read Harry Potter eighter. Just a bit in the beginning. I've only watched a few of those films. It's a funny thing. I loved reading scifi and fantacy when I was a teen but for many years now I've been having a hard time to get past the beginning. I never seem to have the time to really concintrate on my reading now days. Maybe when the kids get bigger...

Twilight trailer looks good. Can't wait to see it. big_smile

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I'm with you on the difficulty reading. I have trouble concentrating and my eyes glaze over. Even long newspaper or magazine articles are a challenge for me.

In a way, though, there is an upside to it -- when someone has read the book they invariably compare the movie with what what they've read. Then the film has to meet or exceed their expectations based on the book. I've noticed that most of the time when I see a movie based on a book, most people who read the book are quite negative while the people who didn't read the book are much more positive in general.

That's a generalization of course, and there are exceptions. But I've found that to be the case most of the time.

Movies never quite match up to books, but I'm hoping this one does ok.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

THAT.  Is a very cool poster.  But then I'm a non-reader of the books too, so nobody attack me if it sucks to the Twihards.  I'm an old lady, remember.  For the record, thanks to Whitley Strieber, I have gotten back into novels.  I've read The Grays, 2012: The War For Souls, and The Last Vampire back-to-back.  I just finished the latter on the plane home tonight.  And I'm going to read Lilith's Dream next.  After that, his new one, Midnight.

Bit of non-related trivia (sorry):  Chris read Whit's infamous non-fiction best-seller, Communion on the set during the Witch Mountain shoot.  He thought he might get to meet Whit since he and his wife, Anne are in the movie, but he ended up not working those two days.  He said he's bought 2012 and plans to read it sometime soon.  Well, you'll hear, it's in the interview.

I've been a big Strieber fan since I read Transformation back in '89.  I've met him twice (and met Anne once), I listen to his radio show as often as I can and check his "News Of The Edge" website, http://www.unknowncountry.com every day.  I'm soooooooo ticked that he's in RTWM I cannot tell you.  But weirdly, I enjoyed his non-fiction so much, it took me a long time to get into his novels.  It's weird because he was a novelist first.  A very successful one.  But since I'm a far out space nut, it's only fitting that I came to him because of his "alien" books.

Wow, who here ever thoughted that lil' Luke Girardi could ever look like THAT? lol
He's over 18 now, right? wink  God, I'm starting to dig guys that are younger than me...
Jaiks..

I'll read the book if I find it somewhere in english. I'm somehow drawn to the english books now. Previously I've always read the finnish traslations but now I hate it. Makes me feel like I'm missing some jokes or wordplays..

Sounds like TeeJay and Anne.  They love to read/see their stuff in English.

And yes, Mike is very hunkilicious now!  I guess that makes me a cougar and a half.  But hey, he's legal.

Yeah, you do.

I love that trailer.  It captured what the book is and what the movie should be much better than the others.

I just noticed that Nikki Reed is in Twilight, too. Did anyone post that yet? If so, sorry.

Nice to see them coming to my hometown (Philly). Would have been even nicer if they considered Michael to be a cast member.

Kristen's coming to Atlanta!  Very cool, but I'm sure they wouldn't let me within a mile of the place.  tongue

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

The first 1 is a collector's book with pictures and information of all 4 books. The second link is the actual book. I would get both but I would definitely read the actual book first. Hope I helped...
