Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I stayed up 'till 3.20 am last night. Read the first Bella-part, was it about 120 pages. Then I thought I had to get to bed even if it left with such a cliffhanger I wanted to keep reading till I drop. So ofcourse I couldn't sleep thinking how it could continue. I rolled in bed until 4 am and then dreamed Twilight-dreams! lol That's a first! I've never before dreamed of book characters the whole night! big_smile And I got to sleep 'til 11am so I kinda saw a 7 hour Twilight-movie last night!

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I was busy with reading Twilight all day yesterday (well, while I was riding on trains) and today (when I not had to be with my family) and I have almost finished the book now. Yaaaay! LOL The farther I come the more I want to see the movie. But well, I still have three other books to read, so I guess that'll keep me patient.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

The Twilight saga keeps me breaking my reading records. I've been reaging Breaking dawn for two days; 13 hours if I count just the hours. And I've got 386 pages read already. Three hours and the first Bella-part the night before yesterday. Last night i read for about 8 or 9 hours and the Jacob-part. I went to bed 2.30 and woke up 7.30; started reading again as soon as I got my eyes opened. What the heck is it with these books that makes reading them feel like breathing? Like it's something I just have to keep on doing...

And can I just say: I loved reading from Jacob's point of view. My favorite fictional character ever! big_smile Stephenie is so talented. I've now read from Bella's, Edward's and Jacob's view and they are all different. As if there really was three different people telling the story. Amazing. Amazingly absorbing story, amazingly enchanting people that don't really feel like fictional anymore. Like I know them inside out. Better than my self. Must take a prodigy to write something so captivating. Three hurrays for Stephenie! big_smile

... And now I just have to start reading again.. So chapter 20, here I come. Diving in, head first. smile

OMG, I'm Bella's dad. LOL

You're Chief of police, Charlie Swan. Bella's dad. You're still not over your ex-wife, Renee, and haven't changed a thing about your house since she left. You're kind of oblivious to the events in your teenage daughter's life but have good intentions all the same...oh yeah, and you also rely on Bella for food. All you can cook is eggs.

I'm Alice...

You Scored as Alice Cullen

You're Alice. You're a vampire who can see into the future once a person has actually made a decision. You have no memories of you're human life or of the pain of being reborn. You constantly walk like you're dancing and are very supportive of Edward and Bella.

I knew there was quite the hype around Robert Pattinson, but until today, I didn't realize the dimensions that this thing has taken. I feel for the guy. I'd be totally weirded out if there were suddenly literally hundreds of 14-year-old girls screaming and crying and fainting because of me. Of course it's flattering in a way, but it's also kinda scary.

I think I'm getting too old to understand this kind of thing.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

There was an article last week about how Hot Topic had to change the rules for lining up for these events because some fans stormed the mall and caused all kinds of havoc.  I guess that's just the price you pay for riling up a bunch of 14 year olds.  tongue

I'm a mix of Bella and Esme. I wonder why, actually ... I didn't say I'm a total clutz nor a mother figure. Uhmmmm???
And of course I'm also not in love with Edward ... not really. LOL

You Scored as Bella Swan

You're Bella. You think you're plain, you're a total clutz, and completely in love with Edward! You don't think you deserve him but would do whatever you had to in order to keep him.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Now I've done it. I just finished reading Breaking dawn. *sigh* I am a freaking idiot to read it so fast. I should have tried rationing it to make it last longer! I was devouring. My family most have thought the book grew roots in my hand. I've been carrying it around practically three and a half day straight. I've actually taken a little naps holding it under my head! lol Sure, it's big enough to be a pillow! big_smile 5-6 hours at a time has it been off my hands; placed in the highest shelf so that my demolishing sons can't get to it.  What the heck am I supposed to read now...? sad um.. Wait a day or two; a few weeks maximum and I'll find myself missing the Cullens and Jake so bad I'll start again from the beginning. Wanna bet?

I think every book was better than the previous. Could totally see Stephenie evolve as a writer. Good for her. Can't wait what other enchanting stories she comes up with. So if I had to pick my favorite Twilight book, I'd say Breaking Dawn. I don't care if some people think it's somehow wrong. I see it totally fitting in the storyline. And in BD I could relate to Bella more than before. I found many things incommon with her...

I only wish the movie is half as good as the book. big_smile The trailers and clips do look pretty good. I'm a bit worried if Kristin and Rob look a bit too old for 17 year olds. Especially if they'll make three more movies with the same cast.. I have to say; without makeup Rob looks like 30... I don't get the hype around him. Just feel bad about the lack of privacy he has to deal with now..

Stephenie has written a book called The Host that doesn't play in the Twilight universe. Maybe you could dig your claws into that. smile

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

The Host is massive.  It's really good, but really long.  I had to keep stopping and restarted after a couple weeks, I'm still not done with it... I need to restart it again.

Don't expect anything like Twilight though.  It's "Sci-Fi for people who don't like Sci-Fi".  There isn't much romance in it, there's some because that's what Stephenie likes writing best, but there's almost none compared to Twilight.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Yeah, I was planning on ordering The Host sometime next month. Is it very selfish of me to get myself a christmas present like that? lol I'll bet it will arrive sometime close to christmas if I order it around December 6th... Selfish or not, I don't care big_smile I've been pretty unselfish person most of my life. Lately under so much pressure, I have the right to spoil my self with a good book every now and then... And it's not like someone realizes to get it for me anyways..

Here's an early review of the movie from AICN.  It's not by one of the regulars, it's by a fan of the books...

I haven't read it yet, but she says it's full of spoilers, so beware.
