Do you like the book or the movie better, Laura?

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I can't honestly say I like either better.  The book does go more in depth, because it's a 500 page novel and the movie is an hour and 45 minutes, so some stuff is left out but it's still kind of addressed somewhere.  But I liked seeing it all live.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I think that's how it is with most of the movies that are based on a book. In a book you can tell so much more about the story than you can in a movie. That's how I see it. Not every movie like that is great, of course (I've seen a lot movies based on great books, but the movie was totally ruined), but there are some exeptions, like the Sisterhood movies. I mostly like the book better than the movie, but with some it's like I can seperate movie and book and love both. Does that make sense to you? wink

The movie was really good. I really liked Mike in it. He was my favorite.  : )

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

And so I started revamping Twilight last night... First five chapters and then it hit midnight and I had to stop. And right away it made an effect on my insomnia making it worse. I was seriously thinking of waking up JTT so he'd do things to me that would relax me... wink

In Facebook there was this one Twilight group that had a video someone recorded in a movie theater. It was the baseball-scene. Funny thing it showed it ok on that page but when I clicked the video to go to youtube for it (so I could link you the video), it said there it was taken off. Just as well. I hate when people record in theater. The movie looked so good I can't wait to see it. I still haven't. They're not showing it in  the nearest city in Sweden yet. I'd have to take a roadtrip to see it and I don't have the time or money for a roadtrip now... sad I already have little trip planned next weekend and I'm going to the opposite direction to visit a friend. And then it's the partyseason (see randomness-thread)...

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

And I started Eclipse last night and I had to force myself to go to sleep, I just couldn't stop reading. LOL
Right now the book is sitting next to me, but I first have to finish some chores until I can continue reading. Work was awful because I couldn't stop thinking about the book, so it was great when I could finally leave. LOL

Something else ... I realized that I never really paid attention to the actors who are cast to play Esme and Carlisle, so I checked imdb yesterday. Well, I didn't know that guy who plays Carlisle at all, but Elizabeth Reaser as Esme was a big surprise for me. She'll always be the nameless girl from Grey's Anatomy for me. LOL I surely never imagined Esme looking like her and I somehow still can't. Guess I have to wait until I can see the movie.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I was suprised about Esme's actress too. big_smile I had this annoying little voice nagging in my head that she looks a bit formilliar but I couldn't place her anywhere. And I can honestly say I've never heard of Peter Faccinelli but I'm sure I most have seen some of his work in the past anyway.

I'm feeling very ashamed of my self lately going all teen-crushing over the actors in Twilight.. :embarrassed: One after another they take pieces of my heart.. Now I must say, I like all the males pretty damn cute and sexy..I keep falling for them all the more interviews I see.. How come I never before noticed these cuties that have the greatest smiles in the world? big_smile
And I can't help my self even if I know that Taylor is illegal for me to drool over!:embarrassed: Well, I can't help myself.. Twilight makes me feel like I'm 17! lol Love his talents and smile.. His talents.. Have you seen the youtube videos of him doing martial arts?! Someone should cast him in the next Jet Li-movie!

And OMJ (yes: J!) these are the most patiente people I've ever seen! yikes I'd gone nuts standing middle of those screaming girls that ruin every damn interview...

Um, yeah. And here's a link to scifi.com's Twilight review. Pretty good. http://www.scifi.com/sfw/screen/sfw19837.html

Now excuse me, I'll have to go stare at some of Chris' pics to cure a little of this Twilight madness.. He's legal to drool over... big_smile

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I used to be quite a fan of Peter Faccinelli.  He did some good work when he was first coming up.  But then he got involved in a bunch of cheeseball crap that I just didn't like so I haven't seen him in a while.  He's very talented and handsome.  Here's hoping Twilight will get him back on the right track toward some quality work.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I think everyone involved with this movie has a very good potential for going mainstream.  I'm not gonna lie to you though, Edward's family doesn't have a very big part in the movie (at least not compared to the book).  Carlisle has the biggest part out of all of them though... he has a whole five lines

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Really? Five lines? And the others even less? yikes Dumb..

I'm way too anxious to see the film. I actually looked for torrents. I have to wait till january before it gets anywhere near enough. Crap. Even if I'll find a torrent I'm going to the theater in town when it comes so I don't really consider a bad crime now.. Just the mother of all spoilers to watch a crappy version that someone recorded in a theater with screaming girls spoiling all the lines and big dark shadows covering half the screen. lol That's what it would probably look like, right?

What? Five lines is the biggest part? Oh. I'm a little disappointed now. That proves that the book is always better. wink
But well, there is still hope for the sequel. Maybe they'll have bigger parts then.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Emmett and Jasper... are there.  Esme and Rosalie have a few.  Alice has a few.  They're all only in the scene when Bella goes to their house and the baseball scene.  Alice is involved with the final fight.  Carlisle is in the first hospital scene, a scene at the police station, at the house, the baseball scene and the fight.

Yeah, the gist of the article is that it is, but so what?  It's fantasy.  Who cares?  Pretty much the gist of all the comments too.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Bella cooks and cleans for her dad (who is basically useless to do much more than fish).  In New Moon (you've all read New Moon now, right?  If not... stop), she falls into a deep depression over Edward breaking up with her, which a lot of people translate to "oh, I have no man to take care of me.  I'm useless now!"  I took it more as her first love had basically ended in a horrible way, a love she thought would literally last forever... obviously, she's gonna be devastated.

Well, I'm not so sure about that anymore, because well, they're going to leave pretty much at the beginning, so I don't really think they'll have more time in the movie that they have in Twilight. But we'll see.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Me too! She is soooo great! LOL I am already looking forward to the scene with the yellow Porsche. big_smile

Buy the way, I am halfway through Eclipse now. I can't believe it. On one hand I want to finish the series, like, NOW because I just want to have my happy ending, but on the other hand it makes me sad because my Twilight journey (as I call it) will be over after the fourth book. But well, there are still the additions and the part of Midnight Sun from Stephenie Meyer's website. I guess that'll be interesting to read, too.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

You know what I hate? Having to stop reading when I reached the best part. But it's damn late now and I NEED to sleep. sad But I just couldn't stop reading when I reached Chapter 20. In any other book that part would probably be waaaay to gooey for me but in that book I just loved it. In case you know what I mean. I don't want to spoil anything in case someone is still reading. *sigh* I wish I could stay home tomorrow.
