Are you going to be mad at me if I tell you I have never heard of Joan Jett? Guess I'll have to do some online research, but I am too tired now.
I'm even too tired to continue reading Breaking Dawn and I didn't read one word today! My whole schedule for today is totally ruined because I had a time shift for work. Great.
But then again, I am pretty near to the end and I don't think I can part with the characters of the book yet. (Oh God, I think I am way too much into the series. LOL) Well, I guess I'll just wait until tomorrow.
Oh, and here's something funny. When I was walking home I spotted a pretty expensive car right around the corner from my house. A yellow Porsche. I didn't believe it. LOL It wasn't a 911 Turbo though, it was some different model. BUT it was yellow and I was like, "Oh cool, Alice is here."

This is my favorite video because I'm in it --- not that you can find me. I'm in that huge crowd. It was shot at Six Flags Over GA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XELpxApT8Kc

I love Joan Jett!! She's awesome!!!
When my dad was in this rock band in Hawaii, his band opened for her at this fair and I was in the front row. = )

That's awesome, Mel! Dave and I have been on the front twice at a Jett show. Once at a now-defunct club called Harlowe's which I think was in Sandy Springs. And another time at a now-defunct small hall called The Cotton Club in downtown Atlanta. We've seen Joan probably... seven times since that 1983 show at Six Flags where the Do You Wanna Touch Me video was shot. Seeing her in concert is what made me a fan. She shreds it live.
Wonder if KS can sing... If she can't, who'll do the voice? Who'll play Cherie? And Lita? And Jackie? Man, I'll be following this one with a slavish devotion you Twihards will recognize. Hee.

Just the luck of the draw that God plopped me down on the outskirts of Atlanta at birth, really. I used t think it was so podunk here. I wanted out. No more. Doesn't matter where I go, this is where I wanna be. I've seen so many things that are awesome and special to me just because I happen to be right where I am. Met a lot of people, I should make a list sometime. I'm so fortunate. And grateful, humbled, truth be told.

OK, Anne and everyone else who is unfamiliar with The Runaways, they're more of a cult sensation than anything else. And that's largely due to the popularity of Joan Jett as a solo artist. Lita Ford did OK as a hair metal act in the 80's too. Here is the video for their only "hit", and it wasn't Top 10...
That's Cherie Curry singing. Cherry Bomb (Joan's on the far left playing rhythm on the gold Gibson Les Paul):

Here's Joan's breakout hit, I Love Rock & Roll. This was like 2 years after The Runaways broke up.

I love Joan Jett. But I am a bit late on that one. She's not that big in Finland. I just looked her up a year ago when I learned that I love Rock 'n' Roll was originally her song. Love her.

I had a "you know you're obsessed about Twilight when..."- moment yesterday... I laughed like a crazy person. I was in the car with my hubby and we were driving in Haparanda. We were going from one store to another and then we ran into a stop in this one crossroad. There was a car standing infront of us waiting to get it's turn. Hubby got a bit anxious -swearing about dumb Swedes that can not drive-, I started to look for a reason. Then I noticed the word "Volvo" and it was dark so I couldn't see properly. So I asked: "Is that a silver Volvo?" Hubby said yes. I started giggling like a wackjob, I laughed for a long time after we'd got on our way because I had lots of Twilight-flashbacks. Hubby asked me several times what was so funny and grinned at my laughter. He wouldn't take any of my one-word answer so I actually had to say the words "You wouldn't understand. It's a Twilight thing". They sounded so weird in finnish!

You saw a silver Volvo? Cool! So Alice currently lives in my neighborhood and Edward's in Finland.

My obsession goes much deeper. If I see a Volvo of any color or a silver car no matter what make it is, it's a stupid silver Volvo. And I officially have three copies of Twilight, my original copy which Whinnie's mom has right now, a two week old paperback that I've already read so much it's basically destroyed and yesterday I got the Twilight Collector's Edition.
Offline
I thought about getting the Collector's Edition, but it's not availabe on amazon Germany yet. I hope I'll get a chance to order it. My paperbacks look so "used" already.

I love Joan's song I Love Rock N' Roll. I can't believe Britney Spears covers it though. Britney's version is an insult.
Offline
Angela Bassett singing it on ER just now was probably worse. Though I haven't seen Britney's version.

No, actually Sweden. I was in Haparanda. It's just a few meters off Finland. Oh, the Glory of living in a twincity by the border. You can be in one country one minute and in another the next. Literally.
I'm pretty sure if I ever see any yellow sports cars I'm gonna think of Alice. They'll probably go too fast anyway for me to look for the letters telling the manifacturer. I can't recognize cars.. Just some of the ones most used in Finland.. Like Volvo, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Ford.

I don't really like spoofs of my favorite books (or movies). But I came across some really interesting Behind The Scenes videos, that was cool. I love BTS Stuff, it's the main reason to buy DVDs. I hope the Twilight DVD will have some great extra stuff, especially a blooper reel. I just LOVE bloopers!

Ok three is enough.. I could do this all day.. but I've got things to do and I should get my priorities right for atleast this weekend.. Oh, who am I kidding?! Twilight is all I can think about anyway... ...'cause Stephenie is a witch and she put a spell on these books so that the Cullens will hunt down every non-Twilight thought in my head and suck them lifeless...

I saw Twilight on Tuesday night and have already managed to finish the book and New Moon even with a crazy work schedule. So in other words, I joined a new fandom this week.

Heh. I might go see it tomorrow. Or I might see Milk. I'm not sure yet.

I hate having to wait until January to be able to see Twilight in the theatre.
BUT here's something cool: My friend Katharina, who was at the theatre with me yesterday, gave me her christmas present already. It was a voucher for our theatre, where we watch the Original versions and she said she's going to invite me to see Twilight! Isn't that great? :dancing:
Now I really hope that they're going to show the Original version. But I guess they'll do since there are many fans of the novel here, too. I can't wait!

Wow Anne, you're a lucky girl!
My best friend just left. I asked her "hey, do you see those books on the shelve above the TV? Yeah, that huge pile towering right there. That's the series I've been talking about lately. There's over 2000 pages together. Yeah, I've read them all... Hey, you know what? Those books are the reason why I keep blabbering about silver Volvos. No kidding." And she looked at me like I just went nuts. Later I was watching the birthday card they brought and guess what.. It sparkeled. So what do I do..? I started grinning and I had to explain it to her why I was acting nutty again. She stared at me. She stared at me even weirder when I said that the books are known to cause absessions. But it's healthy kind of obsessions. I've been on such a good mood when ever I do something involving the Twilight. She wanted to change the subject then.

I finished Breaking Dawn two hours ago and then went on to read some of the outtakes and extra stuff from Stephenie Meyer's website.
Part of me is happy that I'm finished now, but the other part is not ready to part with the characters yet. Oh my God. I never had that with other books. This is crazy. And I still have to wait for the movie so long. How am I supposed to survive this? I mean, I know I can always reread the books but not now. I need some distance from them first, I think.
Okay, I'm going to continue with the extra stuff now and then hopefully find some sleep.
