Re: All Things Michael Welch

Guess what I am listening to right now! big_smile

YES! The audio book has arrived today! So, Mel, your guess was right! And the good thing is, the package did fit into mmy mailbox, so my neighbours didn't have to take it for me. LOL Right now, Michael Welch's voice is filling my apartment and I try listening to it. I am thinking of getting the printed book for my birthday as a present to myself. I am not buying more books this month. wink

Re: All Things Michael Welch

Michael is getting a lot of attention:

While Charlie was tugging at the audience's heartstrings, others were desperately trying to lighten the mood.  Bella's small circle of friends at Forks High School could've easily faded into the background of this angst-filled drama; instead, they stole every scene they were in.  No one who sees the film -- whether they liked it overall or not -- can deny the brilliant performances of Michael Welch (as jokester Mike) and Anna Kendrick (as frenemy Jessica), in particular.  They brought levity to the story and subtly reminded the audience of the carefree life Bella would be giving up, should she choose to stay with Edward.

I certainly did not go into the theater expecting to laugh while watching the film. There are a few laughs in the book, but I thought the movie would be a strict romance and leave no room for embellishment. But Charlie, Jasper, Mike Newton, and Eric Yorkie made everyone in the theater laugh endlessly. Michael Welch was a wonderful actor, and made his character leap right out from the books. I can easily see Catherine Hardwicke¢s influence in keeping the film from being overly serious business, and yet delicately keeping with the plot of the story.

Re: All Things Michael Welch

Whoa! yikes Am I seeing things or did it look like he had a crush on her? wink I picked up that vibe earlier when he was asked about Marbles in another interview. Now in those videos I felt the vibe stronger. Mike looked like he wanted to know her better and really comfortable talking with her. He was a little shy at some moments. It was cute. smile Sorry, of course we are supposed to be polite enough not to talk about anyone's personal life and raise rumours.... :embarrassed: Deb, TJ, Anne.. feel free to delete this if you think I'm crossing any borders here...

Re: All Things Michael Welch

Sitting in the car next to Michael was awkward. That just made me smile a little, since I sat next to him in a car too. And I just realized that that's already almost two months ago. Time surely does not stay still.

Re: All Things Michael Welch

There's been quite a lot of stuff going on with Michael, mostly surrounding Twilight, so instead of posting every item separately, I'm just gonna refer you to Shadow's and Vee's fansite. It's all there on the front page: http://www.michael-welch.com/main/

Last but not least, here's a pic of Michael as Mike Newton in Twilight:

Re: All Things Michael Welch

I saw Twilight. Mike looked weird in it.. And I couldn't see the blue in his eyes sad  because of the dumb lighting or something. Everybody looked green in the face...

This comes from Larry:

Creation Entertainment has launched a new "Salute to Twilight" convention site. There are two events scheduled. Click the "Los Angeles" button for news about Michael's event in May:

http://www.creationent.com/twilight/index.htm

(Just FYI it says they are getting $20 for a Michael autograph and $40 for a picture with him)

According to the website, Michael will be appearing on Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Did anyone join? Wish I could have, but I was on a plane at that time. I hear Michael chatted with everyone for over an hour and got to answer some really cool questions.

Re: All Things Michael Welch

I'm reading the transcript of the chat with Michael right now. You can find it here: http://newdazzlingstarz.freeforums.org/ … -t325.html

This is interesting, his top 6 movies:

MichaelWelc1: *MSG* Requiem for a Dream...
MichaelWelc1: *MSG* American Beauty...
MichaelWelc1: *MSG* Waking Life...
MichaelWelc1: *MSG* Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind...
MichaelWelc1: *MSG* Big Lebowski...
MichaelWelc1: *MSG* I don't remember the sixth... possibly There Will Be Blood

He loves Tool and Pearl Jam. He loves Texas. He's been to London but not to Germany. He was born and raised around Los Angeles. (That's actually a something I wanted to know myself.) He said he had his own Bella in high school (but she's not the same person as his current girlfriend). Pretty cool chat, it looks like it was very busy.

I've seen the movie Requiem For A Dream at least four times and I don't remember Mike in it. I just looked at his IMDB filmography and it's not listed..

Um... I was naughty.. :embarrassed: I found a good version on Mininova... I just couldn't wait anymore... I've now seen it three times and I was pretty disapointed on the first time but it keeps getting better the more times I see it. lol I think I'm not gonna feel bad about being naughty on this one. I'm still gonna see it in the theater and I think this sneak peaking is gonna help me enjoy the theater experience more. big_smile

He's not in it. What he meant is his favorite movies of all time. Like the ones he enjoyed watching most. I don't believe he's in any of those that he listed, is he?

Somehow the transcript was too complicated for me to read. I think I missed most of Michael's posts. Well, I'm going to try again later.

You could do what I did, just search for his username and let the browser point out all of his posts. I found the transcript difficult to read too.
