I've heard it's not a great film, but it was only 79p and it has some great stars in it.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I really want that version of Alexander.  My Oliver Stone friends love it and the extras are supposed to be great.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

FYI: The Alexander dvd has only one extra. The introduction by Oliver Stone.
Movie is spread over 2 discs.

The other versions available are the theatrical cut and the director's cut, both of which have lots more extras.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Not sure if I've posted this before, but this is one of my latest purchases:

51VcpbtzThL._SS500_.jpg

And I just finished watching it. It's gut-wrenching in a sad and tragic way. It's the kind of movie that you really think about after it ended. And it's the kind of movie that I really liked but that's hard to love because it's hard to watch. It also has a very independent feel to it (duh, because it is an indie), which makes it stand out from all the toned-down, glamorized "Hollywood crap".

And I have to admit that I had a hard time understanding a lot of the dialogue because it's hardcore British accent. Don't really know what kind, but Terry was, I think, a Scot and the others might have been from Manchester. I still understood enough to get the movie, though. The acting was outstanding, all the way.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

No, I haven't seen it.  Me, Whinnie and Shawn were gonna see it the weekend she died... obviously, that didn't work out.   I read the book though, it was really weird.

I'll probably watch it tomorrow and report back wink

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I don't know.  But honestly, if I stopped doing stuff because it reminded me of Whinnie or was something I wanted to do with her... I'd be sitting alone, in the dark, in my room, all day, every day.   There's still a lot of stuff I just flat out don't want to do but I'm gonna have to eventually and I can't hide from it.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I just watched it... it was... interesting.  There was a bunch of parts that honestly made me want to throw up because there's a piece of gum in that movie and... it's been everywhere.  Like... everywhere yikes.   There's good music in it though.

Walmart has a new $4 display up. Some good titles, but most are in Full Screen.

Was able to find this one in the display. Bought it this morning.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I have the DVD and the soundtrack and love them both to bits. It was a dead cert for me when the blu-ray was announced, plus new features and a gag reel makes it  even better.
