Harry rings in. I love that line about unnatural hands touching the movie's Underoos! Brill, that means you, you putz!

I don't want links to the pics. I want the images posted. So I'll post them myself. I'm gonna apologize right now for sounding impatient, but I've been sick all week and I still feel crappy. And here I am stuck at freakin' work on Fanboys release day. And there's just too much stuff coming at us to wade through! I don't have the time, patience or energy for it.
So if you find pics, please post the pics, not links to a gallery of Kristen Bell's ankles.
And I also want to warn everyone that I really don't want to see any bad reviews or negative garbage posted about the movie here. If anyone wants to post that crap, do it on IMDb. If I see it here, I will delete it. We've been through far too much with this movie and I just don't want that junk on our MB.
Thanks, everyone.

The reason why I took down the pics in the first place is because they (may) belong to The Official Star Wars blog and on that site it has a copyright of Lucasfilm.
I didn't want you guys getting into problems for something I posted before.

Posting a pic via hotlink on our MB is no big deal. We wouldn't put them in the gallery without permission and full credit of course. But if they didn't want hot-linking to be allowed, they'd turn it off. Besides, if it's on the internet in a non-password protected format, it's fair game.

I love the hat! And I think some facefuzz would have looked good with it.
Honestly, there's something about the shape of his head that makes me feel like the fuzz should be on 24/7... *whistle*
OK, almost 3am already. I have nothing bright to say so maybe I should shut up...

Thanks, Illinois! I was talking about the two in the hat. Especially the first one. That one is just so damn cute! Good enough to be his profile pic on IMDb. Which inspired me to post a plea to whoever keeps updating his page to put a profile pic up for freak sake! I am so sick of him not having a "face" on IMDb.
I deleted the other two because we already had them and I just directed his mom to this part of the thread to look at the new SF pics and I didn't want to confuse her with the LA pics that she'd already seen.

I just returned from seeing Fanboys at the AMC Empire 25 on 42nd Street in New York City. I won't post any spoilers -- this isn't a review as much as just some initial thoughts about the film and the experience of seeing it on opening night in Times Square.
First, the bad news. Even though it was in theater 19, which is one of the smallest ones in the complex, the show was not sold out (we went to the 7:50 PM screening). In fact, it was almost empty. There were probably around 35 people there.
About half the audience was fairly subdued while the other half laughed out loud (they sat in the back). No doubt these were the real "fanboys" who had been anticipating the release and knew a lot about the film.
Personally, I thought it was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. And I saw over 250 in 2008 alone. As I've posted before, I try to know as little as possible about a movie going in -- I don't watch trailers and try to avoid reading anything about it -- so I wasn't expecting it to be so comedic. Of course, it was impossible not to know a bit about the film, especially having followed the campaign, but I really didn't expect to laugh as much as I did.
Some scenes were a bit too drawn out -- the little editor in my head was saying "cut this now" -- but there were more scenes that were just right than not. I especially loved the shorter jokes -- one-liners and sight gags -- and the humor, although obviously targeted at teen males, didn't just rely on bodily fluids and functions (although there is plenty of that). The jokes that were based on references to Star Wars were also somewhat accessible -- not just "inside stuff" that only diehards would get.
I was especially impressed at how the cameos are worked into the script. It didn't appear that they were just dropped in because these folks were willing to do it. Too often it just looks like the filmmakers think that just by throwing in a familiar face that they've got a gag. Think Love Guru. Ugh.
The story itself was definitely believable and neither I nor my friend could imagine how the "other" version could possibly have made any sense.
And maybe I'm biased because I'm a fan of Chris, but I really thought he stole the movie. Yes, it's an ensemble cast, and everyone has their great moments, but the story is really more about him than anyone else. He brought more depth to his character than the others did to theirs. Jay comes in a close second.
Overall I really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. I think it's a crying shame that it didn't get the promotion and marketing it deserved, because it has the potential to be in the Superbad league. Maybe it will develop a cult following on DVD and live a long life.

Cult classic. Totally. Maybe not for everyone, but certainly mass appeal enough for most, I think. It's kind of a populist fantasy, really. Just like the grassroots campaign that saved it from being garbage. The fact is Kyle Newman told me all the way back in October 2006(!) that he would appreciate any help we could give getting the word out about the movie because the Weinsteins were basically giving it no support. Then what the hell did they buy it for? It makes no sense. Do you know how many people are now saying that they loved the original cut even more than this compromised final cut that at least has the plot restored? I really wish Kyle had been allowed to polish the original version, instead of Harvey The Hutt being cutthroat enough to bring Brill in to do it when Kyle and Jaime were on their honeymoon. And that he didn't have to swallow Brill jokes that he felt didn't work. And that they'd left in the William Katt version of the Lucas Security scene in instead of the reshot version with Who-The-Hell-Is Danny McBride? Maybe we'll get to see it on DVD one day.
I agree that Chris stole the show, but in my opinion he's always been one of the best low key scene stealers in the business since he was a kid. Sam even commented on that in one of their video interviews.

In case you were wondering how to save the pics off IMDB and other sites that don't allow right-click save.
I use Firefox. Click on the File on the toolbar. Click on "Save Page as" and make sure the Web Page, Complete is chosen in the "Save as Type" field. Choose where you want to save the pic on your computer.
Once saved to your computer, look up the folder where you saved it to.
You should see two folders, one with htm and the other one with 'files' extension. Open up the 'files' one and the pics from the saved webpage will be there.

There's also always the old reliable "Print Screen."

Kyle Newman, director of the upcoming Star Wars-themed movie Fanboys, said that the future DVD will include several extras, including a key deleted scene and commentaries by several cast members and producers.
"We have Kristen [Bell], Dan Fogler, Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Ernie Cline and Adam Goldberg, the writers, myself, Matthew Perniciaro, and there might be another producer," Newman said in a group interview in Los Angeles last week. "It's like eight people, so it's a very fun and colorful commentary. We're not just sitting around talking about filters and gels; we're talking about funny stuff that happened during the movie."
Newman said that the DVD would also feature a deleted scene that he wished could have fit into the film that references another fantasy classic. "There's a great scene where they pull up to the ranch and there's a door guard, who's played by my friend Dan Spink, who introduced me to Matt, who had the rights to the script," Newman said. "I feel like in all of these movies you have the threshold guardian, and he's the guy at the gate."
"He's got six fingers, but Sam's character tries to say that his nickname is Inigo Montoya," Newman explained, referring to The Princess Bride. "This guy shows up, and he's got six fingers. It just throws him for a loop, and they have this conversation about sixes. That was fun."
Newman added that viewers will see more material from the original director-fanboy, Kevin Smith, who has a small cameo in the theatrical version of the film.
"There's extended Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes stuff, which Kevin wrote," Newman revealed. "That was fun, so you see the full version of that. There's so much great behind-the-scenes stuff that I don't even know what was shot, because they were doing so many fun things off camera while I was shooting that, every time I had a break, our behind-the-scenes guy was doing all these great things with them." Fanboys opens Feb. 6.
Sorry if already posted.
