Do we have this picture...?
Don't think so. What site is it from?

Somehow that video from the artistdirect website takes forever to load here and I can't download it.
Guess I have to wait if it's going to load and just watch it. Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't download the video either. It played fine for me, though. Were you on a wireless connection? Maybe you could try connecting to your modem via cable, your connection should be faster that way. You didn't miss much, though. Chris just said he was a huge Star Wars fan and said how they tried to throw every William Shatner reference at him during the shoot with him, and he was never perturbed by any of it.

Thanks, I managed to see the whole thing by now. Do we have that in one of the other interviews?

What do you mean? This is a different interview than all the others previously linked.

That it what I meant. There are so many interviews now, I thought maybe that one was included in somethin else, too. But obviously it isn't. So I guess since this isn't downloadable, I can't add it to the collection of downloaded Fanboys stuff. Tough luck for me, but I'll live.

Okay, this is so wrong. The movie's showing in theaters in Iceland now. Icelandic people on IMDb posted they saw it in the theater. I mean, WTF??? Apparently it's coming out in Russia and Singapore in March and April.
Also, there's a bunch of really nice Chris photos from the LA premiere on the GenArt website: http://www.genart.org/cinemacircle/fanboys/photos

Again, why wouldn't you just link the pics? GenArt is not somebody's private photo album.

This weekends box-office #'s are in.
$59,700
-65.2%
Down 3 theaters to 41.

That's the second largest drop this week. #1 % drop was -65.7% for Bride Wars.

LOL I was coming over to post it and decided not to.

What does anyone expect? It's out there with no promotion at all and the rabid fans in those cities already went on opening weekend. I'm surprised anyone at all showed up the second week. It's too bad they can't move the prints around so that more people in more cities in those same states could've seen it the second weekend.

I really liked another film that had a very limited release as well.
Southland Tales only opened up on 63 theaters and made $123,428 in it's opening weekend. Which in it's second weekend dropped -69.7% and only made $275,380 in the U.S.
While it's interesting to know how much a film makes at the box-office it certainly doesn't determine which films I'm interested in seeing. There are many films that are blockbusters or hits, but I'm not like sheep and blindly go and see a film because many others went to see it.

I have one question for Larry in regards to movie prints in general.
What do they do with the thousands of prints? I wouldn't think they can store all of them. Do they recycle them?
Offline
Since I've seen Fanboys, I already know it's good and I know that audiences would've responded to it. The trouble is the flat-out utter refusal to promote it at all. Even if they wanted to open it in limited release, they still should've run TV commercials. But they what they actually want is for the film to die on the vine, so they're accomplishing their goal.
Screw you, Harvey!

Yes, exactly. They are usually in awful condition after having been screened over and over at any given theater and really cannot be shown again anywhere. They are returned and recycled (if they are returned at all).
Of course, some are always saved for archival purposes.

Am I hallucinating? Last weekend or sometime around there I was checking the show times and I swear I saw Fanboys on there playing at a theater near me and I was like oooo but that weekend I was too busy to see a movie and then this weekend I looked it up again and Fanboys is no where to be seen. What's up with that??

It's still playing in LA, but I don't know where.

Yeah, it was just one theater that I was looking at that was playing it and then I looked at it later and it wasn't playing it...so i just thought that was weird.

Yes, a lot of theaters only got it for one week. The same thing happened in NY. Some kept it while others dropped it and new ones picked it up this weekend.

Yeah, except that's totally not the watch Linus wears in the movie. It had a silver metal band. We've got a million pics of it.
