FANBOYS expands on Friday, February 20th into 10 more cities / regions including.... Boston, Washington DC, Detroit, Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, Daytona Beach FL, Hartford CT, New Haven CT, Raleigh-Durham NC, and Columbus OH.

Note: FANBOYS will continue to play in Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle-Tacoma, Houston, and Austin. However, if you live in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, or San Francisco and wish to see FANBOYS on the big screen, please do so by Thursday Feb 19th as it will be your last chance.

So... I'll have about 30 miles to travel in one direction to see it. Or about 25 miles in the other direction. Alpharetta is easier to get to, but The Plaza down at Virginia Highlands is a fun, eclectic place to go. I could totally see gathering a crowd to see it there. We could even hit the Majestic Diner there in the strip afterward.

I've created a Facebook event invitation. I'll see if I can gather a group for this...

Someone mentioned that poster on IMDb but had no idea where to find it online. Said they saw one out in the world so it must be official. It's definitely better than the 40 Year Old Star Wars Fan. But I can't get it to blow up big enough to get a very good look at it.

The two ginormous pics won't fully load for me either.

Theater counts are out. I guess we already know this if we count them on the list posted earlier but the film drops 7 theaters to 34.

BTW FWIW generally "theaters" and "screens" are not the same number since one theater could be showing a film on multiple screens, although many use the terms interchangeably. In Fanboys ' case, though, it's a moot point because each theater has been showing the film on one screen so both figures are the same.

Just got home from the movie about an hour ago. It was a blast! We had a really good turnout of 501st Georgia Garrison members, and other costumers as well. Probably only about 30 people were in the theater for the movie, but they laughed their asses off and cheered and clapped. I talked to some of them afterward and they loved it. One guy even told me -- completely unprompted --- that he was happy to see the original plot intact and the fact that it's just emotional enough really feels good to someone who's proud of the 501st group's commitment to charity work. He was well-aware of the movie's long, strange trip to the big screen. I met a lot of really great folks.... even a Weintstein rep.

I'm so glad I got to experience this movie with these people! And this time, I actually paid attention and said to Dave, "That's our friend Sean!" when our resident Dork In Plastic walked by and got a compliment on his costume in the theater camp-out scene.

More tomorrow...

I'll tell all and post pics. Just too wiped tonight. I've been awake since 6 AM and completely wired all day. Gotta wind down and crash.
