Re: Fanboys

Actually, I expected it to be gone this weekend which is why I went to see it one last time two nights ago.  I'm seeing Watchmen tomorrow with Dave & his cousin Josh so I won't be able to do it this weekend.  And I really don't wanna go out on a week night again.  But the biggest reason the answer to that question is most likely a big, fat steaming pile of NO is that the sound SUCKED on Wednesday night.  I don't think I could take another 90 minutes of that high-pitched squeal drowning out half the dialog.

Re: Fanboys

My friend, Joseph Perez, posted this on his Facebook and I wanted to post it up over here. Not sure if you guys have seen this but Joe was at the hospital when Carrie Fisher was filming her scene and he went around to the cast and had them sign a Storm Trooper bucket. And this is obviously when Chris signed it...

Re: Fanboys

Cool!  Nope, never seen that one.  Thanks Sean!  It's nice that they let him put some clothes on in between takes.

Re: Fanboys

Haha-I was thinkin' that too.
There's a scene where Windows is looking for his 'contact' in Austin at the Java the Hutt cafe, and he mistakes a guy with long hair for his 'internet girlfriend'. Well that guy is standing right behind Chris in that pic. He was the hairdresser for the film. smile

Re: Fanboys

Heyy, I hung out with Lou Taylor Pucci last night for a few hours. We went to the NY Premiere of his movie Explicit Ills then to a party which lasted late into the night lol  (Paul Dano couldn't make it, though). I had a long talk with him about Fanboys. He was only on set for a day (obviously) but he had a lot of fun. He said it was a very relaxed shoot and that Kyle was like a little kid in a candy store. I don't remember the whole story (it was long) but basically he'd run into Kyle and Kyle asked what he thought about shooting a cameo as Boba Fett. Lou didn't hesitate. Anywhoo...just thought I'd share. I've got about 100 pics of Lou doing the Q&A and at the party with me and various others I hope to post when I get the chance.

Re: Fanboys

That's great, Larry, thanks so much for sharing. Haha, I can totally see Kyle as a kid in a candy store. He's such an adorable geek. The way he was on the Revenge of the Nerds set when we were there, I can totally see how Fanboys would have been just as relaxed. Everyone seemed very open and there was a lot of good-natured teasing and laughing going on. And a lot of the guys who were there had worked on Fanboys too.

That's cool Larry, we were there when Pucci was filming his scene. He's one of the 2 Fetts that hassled Eric outside the theater while everyone was in line for Episode One. smile

oh, and I'll second(Or third) the comment about Kyle on set. He was always focused, but at the same time, always having a great time which set the tone for an enjoyable atmosphere.

Re: Fanboys

Cool, thanks for the feedback, Sean! I've known Lou a long time -- I didn't even know he had that cameo until he took the helmet off! (We don't talk about work lol) I also know Noah pretty well so it was a double shocker. I literally yelled out OMG in the theater. lol

I know how awful shoots can be so it's great to hear positive stories. And you know what? It comes across onscreen.

OOpsy, sorry. At the very end when the guys are finally waiting in line for the premiere, 2 guys dressed as Boba Fett walk up. They take off their helmets and it's Lou Taylor Pucci and Noah Segan.

And I hope you're not going to hate me because I still don't know who Lou Taylor Pucci is .... :embarrassed:

Re: Fanboys

Ya, it was Lou, Dan, and me that night (sort of the 3 Musketeers lol). It's a long story how I know Dan but it's A worked with B who worked with C etc. Chris and Sean actually fit in there, too lol. And Michael Welch. Sort of like a young Hollywood Mafia -- they all have worked with each other in various groups, go on the same auditions, etc. Emile Hirsch, Michael Angarano, Trevor Morgan, Ryan Kelley, Lou Taylor Pucci, Noah Segan, Rocky Marquette, Mae Whitman, Aaron Himelstein, Thomas Dekker, Shiloh Fernandez, Dan Byrd, Hayden Panetierre, Luke Eberl, Jon Foster, Michael Welch, and Chris and Sean M. are all connected in various ways (and I'm sure I've left out many names) but all the above people whom I've met can all be traced back to the same one person. It's all very incestuous, in a matter of speaking lol. Sean is actually the only one I've never met in person.

The whole PG-13 rating thing should probably tell parents that it's not suitable.   I love stuff like that though, it makes me laugh.  I just think it's hilarious people need websites to tell them they shouldn't bring their six year old to a PG-13 movie.  What did parents do before the internet existed?   "Can I take my eight year old to see Pretty Woman?!"

this is so funny lol you're so right, how did people do it before the internet ???? tongue

Re: Fanboys

Hey guys! Albuquerque is FINALLY getting Fanboys--took em long enough since they filmed the darn thing here.
It opens Friday the 13th!

The 501st has been invited to 'troop' for it and guess what? I have a prior commitment!! :witsend: I offered my services to a fundraiser being held at the National History Museum a few weeks ago and don't want to back out of it.
I'm pushing for a Saturday troop as well. We'll see how it goes.

Oh, that sucks, Sean.  Hope you can scare up a second troop!  But I know that you'll still make sure we get to see some pics, right?

Re: Fanboys

I sure will.
One of the theaters contacted us today about the Troop and said they would give each participant a 1-sheet poster which is kinda cool. Not like we needed an incentive or anything hehe. If I can't get the Saturday Troop worked out, worse case scenario, I go see it in plain clothes!  smile

Re: Fanboys

That's so cool!  I guess that means TWC is catching on to the trooping thing.  You guys are all so awesome.  I met such nice people here in Atlanta.  They tried to get me to join them.  LOL!   And one guy even invited me to Dragon Con as a guest of the 501st.  big_smile
