Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Bought these from amazon.com this past week. Still waiting for them to ship.

Then I went grocery shopping at Meijer and in the aisle on the floor I found a $10 off coupon for general merchandise.

So I bought these.

I have to go back and exchange Holes for the Widescreen edition.

I love Holes. It's a good little family film. I also can't believe i have never seen a Matrix film.

yikes Neither can I! For the longest time, I was convinced that I wouldn't like The Matrix (this was before part 2 and 3 were out) because I had a completely wrong impression of what the movie was gonna be like. I eventually watched it on DVD years after it was in theaters, and I immediately regretted not having seen it in theaters. It's one of those movies that you can watch multiple times and still discover something new every time.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

The thing with me and trilogies is that I watch the first two parts pretty fast and then it takes me ages to watch the third one. Happened with LOTR and the Matrix movies. LOL But I loved all of them.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I went to Best Buy after class today cause I needed a flash drive for school and ended up buying this.  And the cheapest flash drive I could find.  Priorities.  I have them.

I recently added BTT to my Netflix que.  My friends on the RTWM board keep telling me how great AnnaSophia is in it.  Looking forward to seeing it someday soon.

It's really good.  But really weird.  All the best movies are.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

OK, I just watched Terabethia.

I have never even heard of the books before. Going by the cover and the overview I was expecting some sort of kids version of Lord of the Rings. I expected the kids to go into this 'land' and have some neat adventures.

I will say that it is rather boring for the first 1/2 hour or so. I can only imagine being a kid and being bored out of my mind.

Even this 'land' isn't real at all, just their imaginations. The kids never really go too far into this 'land'. Just linger by this tree house. Get attacked a few times by creatures but are in real no danger at all.

I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting.

The kid actors all did fairly well and all.

I like the cover on that edition of Witch Mountain.  Is that the old one or the new one?

My newest DVD purchase: Charlie Wilson's War. (I'm too lazy to post a picture. LOL)
Haven't watched it yet, but I probably will this weekend.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

It's the newly released 'Special Edition'. Same features as old SE plus something called 'Pop-up Fun Facts' - which is probably a trivia subtitle track similar to what is on the Back to the Future, Star Trek movies dvds.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Wow, for a special edition, it looks kind of generic.

I'll post what the extras are later.

But the Race to Witch Mountain trailer is on there.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

There was supposedly a ticket to Race in there too.  Or maybe you have to buy both Escape & Return to get the ticket?

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Mine has a sticker on the slipcover about the ticket.

Basically you go online and enter the code and then print out the certificate.

List of extras:
Audio Commentary
Making the Escape
Conversation with John Hough
Disney Sci-Fi
Disney Effects: Something Special
1975 Disney Studio Album
Pluto's Dream House
Pop Up Fun Facts

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

If it wasn't for Michael I would never have seen Twilight in theatres. I really don't get the hype at all and I can't get through the books either. Anyways. I just bought season 1 of E.R. I'm going to buy season 2 till 5 as well. Oh, nostalgia smile.

I always buy my dvd's from the UK (play.com), all the seasons of E.R. are 30 euro's here, but in the UK it's 13 euro's.
