It's better than a beard with no mustache. I would like, just once, for his face to be symetrical when he's unshaved.

I hope Charlie Banks expands to major theaters. I really want to see it!

I think it's more likely we'll have to wait for DVD, which might happen in May or June.

My mom told me that she saw previews for this movie and I saw the rating of it in a magazine [it was either a B or a B-] so I'm wondering if it's coming out some time soon. Hopefully it does because I want to see it REALLY bad.

You might not have read the posts further up, but the movie actually came out yesterday. But only in three theaters, two in LA and one in New York. It's what you call a token release. They do an extremely limited release, so they can say it didn't go straight to DVD. Usually, the DVD comes out pretty quickly afterwards, so we're hoping May or June.

I'm confused. If it's only being shown in certain theaters, why are we able to see previews for the movie?

I have no idea, but apparently it's been happening with Fanboys too. They hung posters for the movie in cities where it never showed. I'm reluctant to say it's a sign that the movie's gonna expand, but who knows? Do you live near LA or NY?

I expect no expansion for this movie even though "some" people have been saying it's possible. They always say that. Doesn't mean it will happen. Just like with Fanboys, without any advertising on TV, no one will even know it's out and they'll never make enough money to warrant any kind of expansion.

At the Movies reviewed it on this weekends show.
Basically they gave it a mixed review, but both said "skip it".
They said it wasn't terrible and had some good things about it. But had too many scenes that just "didn't quite get there". And that with so many scenes like that, that the film itself doesn't "quite get there". Whatever that meant.

Oh well... Guess we'll see for ourselves just how good or bad or mediocre it is, once the DVD is out.

First, the two Bens, otherwise knows as not!Ebert & not!Roeper, are idiotic young punks that I wouldn't listen to if you paid me. Second, every print review I've seen so far is a rave. Third, who cares? I think most of would rather a) make up our own minds about it, and b) we'll probably feel that even if it's "mediocre", it's still better than a lot stuff we've had to suffer through to see Chris, or c) we'll love it despite what anyone says about it, like Graduation.

I don't care about reviews from other persons anyway, if a movie is interesting for me, I watch it, no matter what someone else thinks about it, especially if one of my favorite actors has a part in it.

I live near LA but not close enough to drive there any time I want to. I'm lucky if I ever get to visit that place. I saw in the LA times that the movie was being shown in one of the LA theaters and I realized that it wasn't being shown in a theater near me. I'm hoping it does soon though because I really want to see it and I don't want to wait for it to come out on DVD. I also really want to see Fanboys but I haven't seen any advertisement for that movie yet.

Even if it's a good review of a movie that has one of your favorite actors in it?

I don't wanna crush your hopes, but I think the chances that Charlie Banks will be shown in any more theaters than the initial three are extremely slim. I'd even go as far as saying they're close to none.
As to Fanboys, who knows. It's still expanding, but I wouldn't count too much on seeing ads. The Weinstein Company has zero interest in advertising the movie properly. If you wanna make sure you don't miss it in a theater near you, check our front page towards the end of the week, we usually post all the latest theater info. It's already come and gone to a few cities, I hope yours wasn't among those.
On a side note:
Hard rockin' Fred Durst to helm 'Psycho Killer'
28 March 2009Limp Bizkit frontman-turned-director Fred Durst, will be helming Psycho Killer, a new dark thriller from Andrew Kevin Walker, the writer of Se7en and Sleepy Hollow. Durst, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, said "I'm very excited about it. It's not a throwaway slasher genre film. It's a very smart, really compelling story about a serial killer on a mission for Satan."
There you have it.
Durst made ripples last year directing the surprisingly not horrible Pop Warner football classic, The Longshots starring Ice Cube.
