Since Fanboys has already played in LA, I really don't expect it to play anywhere near there again, even if it continues to expand. The goal seems to be to get it into as many corners of the US as possible. But hey, it's only about a month and a half until it hits DVD.

The Education of Charlie Banks is a very good indy film... Premeire I believe on Friday 3/27. I saw it in New York. It comes highly recommended. The story is intriguing and the stars are up and coming. :applause:
Eva Amurri plays the role of a beautiful young college student who has the swing vote in a love triangle in the new film The Education of Charlie Banks. Both Charlie and rival Mick aim to win her character's love. She's a hot new hollywood actress with a bright future!

I looked up the Anchor Bay Entertainment website today. They have upcoming DVD releases listed until May, but Charlie Banks isn't among them. So maybe we're looking at June?

CRANSTON, R.I. –– Strongheart Pictures announced today that The Education of Charlie Banks www.charliebanksmovie.com was selected by iconic film critic Leonard Maltin to be shown to his University of Southern California film class. Maltin teaches a course of Theatrical Film Symposium with 360 students, many of them film majors. The film was screened to the entire class on March 26, 2009 at the schools Cinematic Arts Complex. The screening was followed by a moderation by Maltin and a Q and A session of the films representatives. Fred Durst; the films director, Jason Ritter; one of the stars and Peter Elkoff; the writer, all attended the screening. Elkoff stated that the students were "totally into the film".

"Knowing that Mr. Maltin found the movie to be well developed and have enough depth to explore its characters and personalities in detail with his class, is a great achievement for everyone involved. Performances like Jason Ritter's "Mick", Jesse Eisenberg's "Charlie" and Eva Amurri's "Mary" were perfectly coupled with first-time director Fred Durst's unflinching vision, to bring this movie to life."
Additional notice of the solid character based performance is confirmed with several other critic reviews such as writer Elliot Kotek, of Moving Pictures magazine, who noted in his review, "Jesse Eisenberg threatened to explode onto the scene following Noah Baumbach's embracing ensemble flick, The Squid and the Whale. He is, as he was in Squid, perfectly appropriate for this role, and would be the one to watch if Jason Ritter weren't so damn good …. Charlie Banks was shot almost entirely at Brown University and other locations around Rhode Island and New York City. The film was an award winner at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival and Jason Ritter was awarded the Best Breakthrough Performance award at the 2008 Lone Star Film Festival. According to the movie's official Facebook page, the movie is currently playing in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver & Ottawa. There are no more details listed, though.

Okay, so here's the treat. It's a handful of hi-res Chris stills from the movie. Some are a little blurry (for which the photographer is to blame, I guess). There might be more where these came from. Cross your fingers that I'll have more to add over the coming days/weeks.

I personally love the one with the book most. It looks like it was taken during a break.

Here's some more information I've heard about distribution. They're trying to do the Fanboys thing, meaning that they're planning to expand it to more cities. And they're hoping that it'll work through word of mouth. I've been told that the more we make our voices heard, the more likely it is to make the movie expand.

So now I'd like for all of you to write to Anchor Bay Entertainment and tell them you'd like to see the movie in your city or country. They have a Facebook group but it doesn't look like you can send them messages through it. I'm definitely gonna leave them a message, would be great if you could all help.

That's friggin' awesome! I'll definitely send a message today. Nice pics too. I like that last one with the cards. If you were to do some kind of cool, blended artsy background around it, it'd make a cool wallpaper. Not asking you to, unless you just feel like it. Merely pointing that out. With the right kind of background the fuzziness could look intentional.

Edited to say that I thought he was messing with cards, until I enlarged it. Now I see it's a book. So that's the one you like too. Cool.
