But I get my jollies with other things too. Lin Shaye, my Facebook friend and a movie/TV vet is getting to share the screen with my baby, Scotty G, which is fantastic. She was in Critters and Critters 2 with Scotty back in the 80's when he was only 14 and 17 years old. Lin got into movies working for her brother, Bob. He was the founder and head of the great New Line Studios. They made their mark with cheesy horror movies like the Critters and Freddy Krueger series back in the day, then graduated to prestigious indies with their Fine Line Features releasing arm, and eventually went on to produce the Lord Of The Rings movies before finally closing up shop just a year or so ago.

Alexis Bledel is also in the show. Schweet!

(Cool aside: Shawn Hatosy is in the show that replaces ER next week, Southland, starring Ben Mackenzie. Don't know if he's a regular or just in the pilot.)

Good ol' Ernie Borgnine? Amazing tonight.

And Tony and Sam just made me cry. Again.

I laughed, wept, cheered, had a great time. One of my favorite things about the finale is that they brought back the opening and had everyone who appeared tonight in it. And then they ended with the old theme song and pulled back to actually, finally show what the backside of County General looks like. It was an incredibly satisfying conclusion, in the tradition of the show. Meaning not all questions were answered, not everything was resolved. But life goes on in the ER , which is exactly as it should be.

No, it's 3 hours altogether. The retrospective is an hour long and it ran first. The finale is 2 hours long.
