I think I missed the thing with the stolen phone. I mean, I knew Annie wanted money from Pete, but I didn't know what the reason was. Maybe I'll rewatch the movie some time.

Here's a really well done YouTube vid for The Invisible. It's not not solely centered around Pete, but he's in it too. I just really liked the way it was cut together and the song fits well too.

ok, i just saw this movie. it sucked. i mean i had this feeling when i started to watch it and when i got what was going on that it could be interesting but it just went on to being incredibly silly.
i liked chris's role as pete. at least i sort of understood his character. he had sort of a guiding line. he was not a bad guy but he was weak and could not overcome his cowardness ( is this a word? sorry if it's not :embarrassed: )
but nick's and annie's characters had kind of no point. it was not explained why they were the way they were.
i think the movie is just too bad to be worth going on and on about what was wrong with it.

Chris is great in it but other than that I don't like it much. The first time I saw it though I really liked it but now I only like it because of Pete.

Have fun. It's not a masterpiece, but Chris makes it watchable. And at least you don't have to watch it dubbed. LOL

I'll let you guys know when i've watched it.
EDIT: Now i've watched it. Like you said, it is not a classic but i still enjoyed it more than i thought i would. Chris was cool as always and was actually one of the most complex characters in the film. I love Marcia Gay Harden too but there was some scenes that she acted as if she didn't quite know how to react. Music seemed overused a bit too much in particular scenes, and i would have liked to have had explained how Nick was able to be at the right place at the right time. Still, i did enjoy it though.

Do you mean what happened to Pete? Everything indicates that Pete died. I'm sure Deb can tell you all the details since she's been through a few verbal fights about it on IMDb. I think in the original Swedish movie Pete dies and there's also a book where Pete dies. So we're assuming that was his fate in the remake too, even though it's never shown or mentioned.

Yeah i meant Pete. I know it sets it up to indicate that Pete dies, but i was wondering whether he did actually die in the end of not.

My feeling is that Disney wimped out and re-edited the scene so that it's left open to interpretation because they didn't want to upset their target audience --- 14 year old girls. Yes, in the book, Pete dies. In the original Swedish film, Pete dies. And Chris told me that they shot it so that Pete dies. I've even spoken over email with the writer of both the Swedish film and this Disneyized adaptation and he said Pete kills himself as far as he's concerned because that's what he wrote. The fact is that the original is a darker R-rated film and the American version is a watered-down Disney emo movie. In the original, Nick asks Annie to pull the plug on him and she does, so he dies and she lives. But no, Disney had to make sure the cute boy lived so all the little girlies would get a "happy" ending. And the forced "romance" between Nick and his "killer" is NOT part of the original story.
Truth behind all this is that the director, David Goyer brought in his best friend's wife --- a TV writer --- to retool Mick Davis's much darker script and the result is a complete mess of a movie that Chris effectively disowned.

This movie is playing on FX on April 21st at 9am. Always enjoyed this one. I like the soundtrack & enjoyed both performances by Chris & Justin Chatwin.

I watched The Invisible again last week for like the fifth time or so. Chris's scenes are very intense. Its a pretty good movie but not one of Chris's best in my opinion.

I would agree with that. It's still interesting & entertaining to watch and I think a good performance put in by Justin Chatwin. Chris always seems to always have good chemistry with his co-stars.

The stuff they cut out of it kinda of wrecks it for me, I'm afraid. I'm so tired of having to say that about everything Chris is in.

I'm lazy at the moment and not flipping back pages to see if this link already is here... but just came across this old Invisible interview: http://www.collider.com/entertainment/a … /13/tcid/1
There's an audiofile for it: http://media.collider.com/collider_audi … er.com.mp3
I feel kinda stupid posting this. Of course you guys already have it here somewhere. I may have even heard it before, but just in case. I'm loving this audio file Can't get too much of that voice so...

I've been trying to come across the soundtrack because I actually like the music. Anyone know any details about where I could get it? Looks like its not being produced for the masses anymore.

this movie played on tv here Sun night, and although I actually am not fond of this movie at all, I had it on in the background so a could catch certain scenes, for obvious reasons.
I do have a question though re: the plot. I'm not a big "movie" person, as in, I don't actually watch nearly as many as the average person (in the Western world anyway) seems to, so I'm a bit thick sometimes with understanding the subtleties of movies. But what is the deal with Nick and birds? I get the dying bird in some sort of limbo same as him... what I don't get is why he was able to shephard the pigeons in front of the detectives car to get her attention called to Pete biking off??

Who friggin' knows? I'm sure they had some kind of deep, philosophical meaning, but it's completely lost in the muckety muck of that mess of a movie.

It is a little messy. I think the pigeons are symbolic of his spirit if I recall. When the bird dies in the begining he was able to revive it, so that is how he found out he was still alive. That's the best I can do!
