Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

Hey anyone that is actually reading this! I am Kate and have just developed the biggest movie star crush on Chris Marquette! But i figure if you are reading this then you will totally and utterly agree with me about his brilliance!

What's the first thing your ever saw Chris in?
Ummm probably Girl Next Door, actually. I know there is so much of his work that he has done earlier, but yeah i think that would be the one. But then after watching Just Friends i really adored that character of the annoying younger brother. Then it was The Invisible where i didnt like the character he played, but i think its because he played miserable and weak so well for this movie. By the time i have seen Graduation i am hooked. I have never seen green hair suit someone so well. DAMN hot in that (in my opinion wink )

What's your favorite thing he's done so far?
Ha, wrote too much in the first answer...probably Graduation, i havent seen Joan of Arcadia yet though (dont hurt me, i plan to chase it up ASAP)

What's your favorite scene in that movie/show?
Its silly cos its not a big part of the movie at all, and its not a big scene, i just couldnt get over the way he did his cheeky grin when chatting up the teller at the bank

Who's your favorite Chris character and why?
Oh i loved the younger brother in Just Friends. He just got it so perfect. Comedy gold when they started fighting in the bedroom

Do you remember the first time you Googled Chris?  What site did you land on?
Only a few days ago to be honest....I realise that i am VERY slow at catching on to his brilliance. But i figure it just means i have so much of his work to look forward to!

What were you looking for when you found our website or how else did you stumble across it?
I was looking for some more info on Chris, so yeahhhhh pretty perfect situation

What role in what movie --- any movie --- past, present or potential would you love to see Chris play?
OHHHHH good question....but that just means im going to have to think....Ok this may sound silly to anyone else, but my first ever movie crush was on Sean Astin from The Goonies when he played Mikey. And even though they dont look similar and generally dont even act in a similar way, the reaction i get from watching them is the same. So it would just bring out the little girl in me to see that done. But other than that i think i would like to see him play the bad guy role. But i think it might need to be a good guy in a bad situation turned him into a bad guy kinda role, just something about him i always see as cheeky and kind hearted

Seen any Chris movies in a theatre?
I plan to see Fanboys when I can smile

Own any Chris movies?
Girl Next Door, Just Friends, The Invisible, Graduation

Have anything special recorded off TV?
Nope...but i plan to get my hands on a copy of Joan of Arcadia ASAP

What do you like most about Chris?
His eyebrows???? I dunno about his eye brows, Teejay. Mine would probably be the way that his smile seems to change his entire face. His face just is so incredible at showing all emotions and his cheekiness is so sexy and appealing

If you could ask Chris one question, what would you ask?
I would probably end up tongue tied and fail miserably even if i planned it all out before hand. But i would love to know what makes him choose his roles. They all seem driven from a different aspect (the ones i have seen anyway) Most actors tend to get pigeon-holed a little bit as a dramatic actor or comedic actor or action star or what have you. But i find it fascinating that he can alter himself so seemlessly

Do you have any of Chris's lines that you can quote off the top of your head?
Sadly probably not, but i dont doubt that i will be able to soon enough

Have you met Chris in person? If so, tell us about it.
NO! But i would LOVE to get that chance. But living in Australia might make that a little bit difficult to be honest

If you could have him autograph one item or photo, what would you pick and why?
Ummm i think i would be happy to have an autograph from him at all! It wouldnt really matter to me if it was a napkin i grabbed cos it was there or a huge wall sized poster.

What would you want to see Chris doing next out of these?
a) a very dark and suspenseful thriller
b) a sitcom
c) a quirky and/or romantic comedy
d) a horror movie
e) a drama TV show
f) an action movie
g) a dramatic movie
h) a medical or cop show
i) a theater play
j) something else entirely (if so, what?)

I would like to see him tackle some action, mainly cos i havent seen him do it before and would find it interesting, but i think he plays the "sidekick" comedic role so fantastic and i could never go past seeing him like that.

I realise that i havent seen him as much as the others on this website probably have.....actually not even nearly close. But i look forward to the many hours of viewing pleasure i have ahead of me. Please take pity on a novice like me if it seems like i dont know that much about him!

Hi Kate, so nice to meet you. Also got your e-mail, thanks so much for writing in. smile Of course I agree with you on most of what you wrote. The eyebrows thing is more like an in-joke, I just think Chris has really beautiful eyebrows. Of course I also love his smile and his face and his voice and...

...his hands, his warm eyes, his... pocket anomalies.  Just kidding.  Kinda.

Sorry I fell asleep in the middle of our email conversation last night, Kate.

For now, I suggest you peruse our video section.  If you wanna see Chris being kind of a bad guy, check out the Huff clips.  His character there, James, was a bit of a sociopath.  And sessy as hell.

Check out the trailer for Infestation.  This upcoming movie will put him in a comedic action lead.

You really do have a lot of great stuff ahead to discover.  Stick around.  It'll be fun.  big_smile

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

I'm almost doing that right now with Friday Night Lights.  It's a whole different experience to watch the show in order and read each of the TWoP recaps afterward.  Really makes you pay attention to every little detail.

I know what you mean. That's why I still have not watched the two last episodes of Life On Mars (the british version). I just can't do it because I know it'll be over then.

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

First off, Thanks guys!!!

Seriously feel so welcome, its great. You arent scary at all. And yes yes i know how much of a novice i am about this guy. I know when i am beaten. :grovel: But one day i will be like you guys....only a matter of time! Im getting excited about Joan of Arcadia, going to spend my lunch time visiting the store trying to find a copy! But i rewatched Alpha Dog last night, and i cant get over the fact that the first time i saw it i didnt realise it was him. Long hair threw me abit, but now i have seen him in a few more things its unmistakable.
Also Deb, thats fine dont worry about it. I think the issue was more the time difference than anything else. Not sure exactly what it is but i think its something like i'm 8 hours in front. Something like that. But thats what comes with being Australian! Any other Aussies out there on the message board???

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

We're 10 hours apart, according to a website I just visited.  I fell asleep in my chair around 11:30 last night, strangely right in the middle of an ep of my favorite show, Friday Night Lights.  Right now, it's 9:30 PM here and I'm watching a special 2-hour ep of my other favorite show, Medium.  smile

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

Hehehe yup i would say its 10 hours then cos i just came back from my lunch break and its 1 30pm. I went to 3 different shops and couldnt find a dvd set for Joan anywhere....i think i am just going to download it and watch it that way. Joan of Arcadia wasnt very popular at all in Australia sadly. But i can promise that i will be posting as soon as i get my hands on a copy and then just after ive watched it too!

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

Yeah, keep us posted.  Do you have Amazon marketplace in the Australian version of the site?  It's where you can buy used and sometimes new copies really cheap from individual sellers, usually stores.  I do it all the time.

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

Nah, sadly there is no Amazon Australia. There is always eBay...but i have to be careful cos just checking, they are only selling the dvd's from America and most of those dvd settings are NTSC and Australia is run on PAL mostly....dont work sadly. I learnt that one that hard way! I dont mind downloading, but i prefer it if i could buy

Ok i just realised how bad my maths calculations were just then....if its 9 30 where you are and 1 30 where i am....its definitely not 10 hours difference. Whoops! My bad. Its more like 16 hours time difference. WAY off

Re: Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it

The time difference between Germany and Melbourne is currently 8 hours (Australia is ahead of us). The time difference between Deb and Kate should be 10 hours the other direction. It can get quite complicated with the timezones. It's always a challenge at work to organize phone conferences that have people from Australasia, Europe and the US present.

Kate, I don't think Joan ever came out on DVD anywhere but in the US. Sounds like you don't have a codefree DVD player and can't play US DVD, huh? I know about your PAL problem since we also have PAL over here and a different region code. Luckily, my player plays all region codes. Hope you find the whole show to download somewhere. Seeing how it's been off the air for about four years now, it might not be easy to find.
