Re: Fanboys

Just HAD to repost this.  With my Star Trek Fever and all.  Hey, that sounds like an SNL skit.  Anyway...

Yay! Very cool, Simon. Let us know how you like it when you've seen it.

Oh hey, TeeJay, is the "other Harry Knowlesalike" in the deleted scenes?  I really wanted to see that version of the scene.  That guy, Jordan is a friend of Dan Fogler's.

No, he's not in the deleted scenes either. This is what's in the extras:

Fanboys_SpecialFeatures.jpg
- The Truth About Fanboys is a general featurette that introduces the movie and its characters.
- Star Wars Parallel is a similar featurette that focuses more on how the movie's characters are like the SW characters (Linus is mostly compared to Obi Wan, for he's an "old soul").
- 4 Fanboys & 1 Fangirl is another featurette about the characters and the actors playing them. All of these are interlaced with little interview snippets at the set with Chris, Sam, Dan, Jay and Kristen. In the first featurette, Chris is only shown once. Also, all these featurettes are your usual "it's a great movie, it's a great cast, everyone got along great, the shoot was great, everything was great" type. I wasn't too thrilled with them and they revealed nothing we didn't know before.
- The Choreography is a five-minute thing about how Kyle's buddy from Pittsburgh teaches the guys how to strip dance.
- Disturbances in the Force are the webisodes that are listed below. Those are the most fun. They're short behind-the-scenes videos that were shot by Andrew Gallery. (I only now realized that the toilet shots are completely missing in the webisodes.)

Fanboys_DelScenes.jpg
- Six Fingered Man is Eric trying to convince the six fingered Dan to let him in. (Chris only shown once for, like, 3 seconds)
- Big Chuck Board room is a scene with Eric and his father and brother during a car sales meeting. (Chris is not in this one)
- Sex with Ewok or Wookie (Wookiee is spelled wrong!) is a scene in the van with all the guys where they ask Windows if he'd rather have sex with an Ewok or with a Wookiee. (Chris is cute in this one, but is in the background)
- William Katt is the scene where the "big decision" is made. It's great, I wish it had stayed in the movie. It's a lot better than the one in the movie right now. (Has a great close-up of Chris at the end)
- Kyle as Yoda is in front of the theater after Linus is dead and the guys go see Episode I in regular theaters. (Chris not in it)
- Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes is an extended scenes with more footage than was shown in the theatrical version of the movie. (Chris not in it)

Fanboys_DistForce.jpg
Not sure I can remember all of these, but I'll try:
- Clone Wears: Focuses on the costumes, mainly Dan in Stormtrooper gear, Jay as Darth Vader, possibly also Kristen in her Leia bikini, but that could have been in one of the featurettes because it was shown there multiple times. Don't think Chris was in this one much or at all.
- The Empire Strips Back: More on the strip dancing lessons. This is the one where all the cute Chris pictures with the hat come from.
- Attack of the Nose: Jay accidentally hit Kristen on the bridge of her nose with his front teeth and the story surrounding that. Chris is not in this one.
- A Wretched Hive...: I don't remember what this one was about.
- Drum or Drum Not: Dan drumming improv during a lull in shooting. Hilarious, I laughed a lot about this one. Chris is not in it. (All I can say is: "Dan, watch out for that cable, please." This will mean something to you, once you've seen it.)
- Space Balls: Chris's private parts dancing pole mishap.
- The Rebellion: Mainly just the guys goofing around on the set, trying to bide their time in between takes. Focuses mostly on Kristen, but Chris is in it here and there.

Re: Fanboys

Doesn't surprise me that the William Katt scene is better than the Danny McBride scene.  Can't wait to see that one.

Re: Fanboys

More screencaps from the extras. Some are similar to ones I did before, mainly because they kept using the same scenes from the movie in the featurettes. What I haven't capped yet are the webisodes (except for the strip dancing one), I'll get on that some other time. Updated caps here and onwards: http://www.chris-marquette.com/gallery/ … 216&page=3

It's a scene from the reshoots, is it not? They put some of them in the featurettes, but not a lot.

Re: Fanboys

Cool, I'll have to read that.  Actually, I think that scene in the actual movie may be from the reshoot.  I noticed it early on and every time I watched it I tried to decide if it was or not.  It looks to me like it is.

Re: Fanboys

I think this is the Hollywood 411 thing that I just saw in Chris's IMDb credits at the bottom: http://www.truveo.com/fanboys-cast/id/557106110

It's nothing special, and you only see him being interviewed for, like, 20 seconds.

Re: Fanboys

Someone on IMDb asked about the insulting cover so I shared our corrected one.  I've printed this on sticker paper and will fix my DVD cover tomorrow when I pick up my copy.  Thought you guys might like to do the same.  TeeJay made it, but never posted it here. It should be actual DVD size...

Re: Fanboys

They were fun, but repetitive and there's a lot missing that we know about, just like you said.  What really bugged me though was all the deleted stuff they mentioned in the commentary that didn't end up on the DVD.  Like a supposedly very heartfelt scene between Linus and The Chief.  It's not fair to tease us with that stuff and then not give us a chance to see it.

Re: Fanboys

I found a short interview in German with Kyle that says the DVD has easter eggs. I'm not good at finding these things. So maybe there's something hidden that we haven't found yet. Though somehow I doubt it because when I ripped the DVD, I looked at all the video tracks on it, and I didn't find anything I hadn't seen before.

I haven't watched the movie with the commentary yet. Sucks that they mentioned stuff that's not on there. Wonder who put the lid on that since at the time of recording the track, they obviously wanted to put more on the DVD than they did in the end.
