Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

How's this?  We can move all that talk to here for now.  TeeJay, can you do that?  It's hard for me to move big chunks while I'm at work.  I lose my place.

I'll start this off with a pic from the next ep in Kate's line-up, The Boat...

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Problem is, if I move Kate's posts here, they'll show up at the top of the thread because they were posted earlier. Don't know how to fix this other than mess with the database (which I'd rather not do because I don't know anything about it).

Only way I know how to do this is by copying and pasting all of our texts here manually.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

The only good thing about being sick and bed ridden for a few days... I am now an entire season down of JoA and im actually really surprised cos Luke is definitely my favourite character. I like Luke even more than i like Adam. Michael Welch, i love him. But seeing as much as i am a fan of Chris and all i was kinda surprised. But i cant help it. I dunno, there is just something about Luke that just makes me love him. Maybe its my science degree...who knows!

After Adam and Joan, Luke was my favorite character too. Especially because of the science stuff because I have a science degree too.

Grace is my favorite character after Adam.  Everyone else comes in somewhere after that.

Yeah, I love Lilly!  And, as much as I didn't like her in the beginning, Judith really grew on me.  But Lilly was a ton of untapped potential.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

These are my favorites in order

Adam
Joan
Grace (Joan and Grace are basically tied)
Judith
Luke

I wasn't crazy about Judith at first, but after a while she really started growing on me after a wrote a couple Joan/Judith fanfics.  After that, I'm basically indifferent to everyone else.   I think it helps that they're my age, so they were easy to latch onto the first time around.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Yeah, I just didn't like the idea that Judith was brought in just to %!& (this IS a spoiler-free thread, after all wink ).  But then there were a few things they almost did that I was eternally grateful that they didn't do.  I think they were thisclose to turning Glynnis into...;)

Hahahaha! Its all good guys, i understand it was made a spoiler thread so that i wouldnt ruin my experience but i have seen  all of the first season. Just spoilers from the second season need to be avoided so i know that they have killed off Judith and slutted up Glynnis. But you guys are so sweet for thinking of me like that!

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I wish you didn't know about Judith.  That was a punch to the gut because no one knew going into that ep.  It's a brilliant episode.

Everyone, let's just not tell her when it happens.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Deb its ok, I have seen that episode and i had no idea that it was going to happen when it did. Im actually at the moment about half way through Season 2. But yeah i agree it was a real shock when it did happen. I did suspect that she was going to get hurt or something bad would happen when she made the phone call to Joan while on her date but it was such a shock that she was killed though. I actually just finished watching Queen of The Zombies. So pretty soon noone will have to worry about any spoilers at all. I cant beleive that i only have a few more episodes to watch and thats it.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I love QOTZ!  It's funny and sweet and heartbreaking.  It's one that I love to look at because Adam is so adorable in it.  But the ache in me watching Adam & Joan start to think about maybe not being together after high school is sometimes too much to bear.

No more spoilers, guys!  Shhhhhhh!

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Yeah i was definitely amused by the stage catching on fire and poor Friedman getting thrown into the first scene. Im actually really enjoying his off-beat character. But strangely enough i felt more emotion and heart pangs with him over Judith when he is looking at the Macbeth book and saying she would have loved it than with Joans breakdown. Not saying that Amber wasnt fantastic i think it was more that you only ever saw the character of Friedman as a joke and its in that moment that you go Oh wow he has really deep feelings. It was that moment that made me really pay attention to Aaron after that. Gah i cant believe you guys were lucky enough to have met them!

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I totally understand what you mean.  Sadly, our meeting with Aaron was all too brief.  But he friended me on Facebook today and he said he's still totally willing to do an interview with us.   Got any questions for The Friedman?

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Oh wow...I am massively jealous. Will have to think about that one and get back to you. I do have one question that i always want to know from any actor though.

Every character that is played by any actor always has to come from the actor themselves. How much of what we see on screen is the actor?

So with Aaron i guess it would be how much of himself is the intelligent horny persistant confident side-kick Friedman that we see. But i will definitely be thinking about this more and get back to you soon with more smile
