Ok seeing as though everyone wants to list i think mine so far would go

1. Luke
2. Adam
3. Kevin
4. Grace
5. Joan
6. Friedman

I think anyway, they probably swap and change each episode i watch. But yeah that for now.

Oh, I'm not telling you anything.  You'll definitely be upset when it's over.  And Chris is amazing in American Gun.  It's one of the very favorite parts he's ever played for most of us.  Very emotional.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I knew i would end up doing it this way. Just spent my weekend finishing off the series. I have now officially watched ALL episodes of JoA. So feel free to discuss spoilers all you want now. I really really didnt like how they ended it though. I guess from the way it was done they werent expecting to finish on that note, but still kinda frustrating to see the beginning of a storyline and have it not lead anywhere. I was surprised when they had Adam cheat on Joan. It seemed to come out of nowhere but then its kinda like that in life too. I actually think they handled it really well and it was portrayed well. Dont think they would have been able to get back to just chatting and friends as easily as they seemed to, but they kinda had to for Grace's sake. But over-all i am a fan smile I just adored the Luke character and after reading everyones list of favourite characters im actually surprised that Kevin wasnt mentioned more. Just the characters were so likeable and easy to relate to. I really enjoyed this show and im so glad you guys put me onto it. Now i get to rewatch the show.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

And now you see.  We were devastated that the show ended that way.  And destroyed by the character assassination they performed on Adam.  You may now feel free to move about the cabin.  I suggest you go to the JoA board and check out the threads about the various eps and see what we've all said about these things.  You'll never be able to read all of it, but you can get the idea.  And also, there's a TON of gorgeous pics in those threads.  Our recaps will also help give you a jumping off point if you want to talk about the show.

It took me a VERY long time and several hundred pages of fan fiction to get over what they did and figure a way to still love the show...

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I just think the whole addition of Wentworth Miller's character was handled badly for a show that was ending. It may have worked out ok if there was more episodes to follow. But i didnt like the whole good vs evil feel they were trying to do at all. I think that would have changed the whole idea of the show. As much as it was a shock that Adam cheated on Joan and it wasnt expected i still think the show handled it well. As far as i know i havent been cheated on but i know those that have and yes it usually is a shock and seems out of character. It still doesnt really make sense other than as an attempt at ratings knowing Adam's character but still i actually liked it. *DUCKS* please dont hurt me. Im just glad that they didnt have Joan going back to him after that. I cant stand when they do that. I actually think the best thing about it all was Luke and Grace's reaction to it by feeling insecure. But i actually really hated the way they had Grace act through it all. I have been in that situation where i have been friends with both sides of a relationship, this was before they were even going out. And yeah cheating was an issue, and as much as i choose to not take sides i still think she was too harsh to Joan. Thats just my opinion anyway

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

They didn't think the show was ending when they added Ryan Hunter.  We all thought it would have a third season.  Losing it when we did was just awful.  A/J shippers believe they were meant for each other, of course, and we wanted to see them eventually get back together.  Since we didn't get it, we had to write it ourselves.

PS:  Yes, we thought that Chris and Amber were AMAZING in Trial & Error.  I always say that I wanted to slap Adam, but I wanted to hug Chris.  That's the night I Googled him for the first time.  The rest, as they say, is history.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

The only thing that was in-character about the whole cheating thing was how destroyed Adam was over what he did and what he lost.  And Chris portrayed that phenomenally.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Thats true. I dont think it was well thought out by the writers. They seemed to be looking to add some controversy and chose this an idea but it didnt really work within the characters that we had already seen. Another thing i was dissapointed in was never seeing Freidman in a proper relationship. Speaking of...did you end up sending off those interveiw questions to Aaron, Deb??

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

Yeah, I did.  Haven't heard back from him yet though.  They really were trying to stoke ratings by turning the show into The OC.  Chris even says so in our first interview with him.  He hated that storyline.  Now you can listen to the interviews.  You're looking at about two and a half hours of that deep, bassy voice all together.  Being sweet and funny and insightful and surprising and himself.

Re: Kate's Spoiler-Free JoA Discussion Thread

I'm glad you finished the series, Kate. I'm with most of us here, I hated how the whole Adam-cheating-on-Joan thing developped. No one saw it coming. I hated Adam but loved Chris. And as twisted as that might sound, it made me want to write fan fiction again. Big time.

You might not only want to listen to our Chris interviews, but maybe also to our interview with Becky Wahlstrom, she talked a lot about JoA and also a little about what the show was gonna become in season 3, had there been one. There's also a very funny part where she tells us about kissing Michael Welch, who is more than 10 years younger than him. big_smile
