Thanks. Chances are slim that I'm gonna see Fanboys in Kopenhagen, though. It's only playing in one theater and one showing a day this week. The schedule changes on Friday and I bet they're gonna take it off the schedule completely then. Oh well, there's always the DVD...

I haven't really read this thread lately.
But back in the early 1980's I went on a school field trip to Washington D.C.. Took a plane over there. My first plane trip, and last one as well.
Went on a tour of the White House, the Smithsonian and the U.S. Treasury. Very cool, especially the Smithsonian with all the planes and then the Treasury to see how they make the money.
Was supposed to tour the Capitol, but for whatever reason that didn't occur. But the entire class group had our picture taken on the steps of the U.S. Capitol building.
Also saw the monuments. I don't think we could go up in the Washington Monument because they were working on it or something.
Back then there was no WWII monument at all, but that looks interesting to see.
Also went to Williamsburg and Jefferson's Monticello.
The real bummer was that I took a ton of pictures, but the film went through the X-Ray machine and ruined them. So all I have is memories.
But I do agree with you about Chicago. It's a crowded city. That's why I don't go into Chicago unless it's on business, which isn't likely anymore. I just don't like crowds.

I got to see a little of the Smithsonian once. My friend Elaine and I went to Baltimore for a game at Camden Yard and stayed with her friend Judy in Maryland. We only got to spend one afternoon in DC. We didn't see much. I definitely wanna go back.

I have kind of a weird coincidence story to tell from my trip to Vienna. The first coincidence was weird enough, but the second one boggled my mind.
So my colleague and I arrive at the hotel in Vienna that had been recommended to us by the guy who works for our client company whom I accompanied to the hospital the next day where our clinical trial is running. We get our room keys and get on the elevator. There's a guy around my age in the elevator, but I don't really pay much attention to him. Suddenly he addresses me, "Hey, you studied at university with me." I look at him, don't recognize him, and thought it was just a bad pickup line, so I say, "Uh, no, I don't think so." Then he goes, "Yes, you did, in Düsseldorf." So I'm like, Wait a minute... I take a closer look, and then... yeah. The guy indeed looks familiar. He says, "I don't remember your name, though." I say, "Tina." He goes, "Martin." Yep, that does sound familiar. It was then I had to get off the elevator, still baffled by the coincidence. We didn't really have time for anything else and I thought that was it.
Next morning, I get to the restaurant to have breakfast. I look around the room to see if my colleague Alexandra is already there because we agreed to meet, and she isn't. Instead I see this guy who looks strangely familiar (not Martin). So I walk up to him and go, "Peter?" Yup, my former colleague Peter was in the same hotel. Weirdest thing is, I don't usually see him more often than once a year at our yearly IFE ex-colleagues reunion, but I had just met him last Saturday at a former colleague's birthday party. He also works in the pharma industry, and he was there on a business trip as well.
So then we all introduce each other at the breakfast table. Peter and our client guy Sebastian actually work for the same company but not in the same office, so they didn't know each other (which I knew before, actually). And then Sebastian says, "My colleague Martin is here as well." Dude, no way! Martin from the elevator! These guys all work for the same company?! The pharma world is so small!
It still boggles my mind that I met these two seemingly unrelated people at the same time in a city that's hundreds of miles away from all our homes. How does that happen???

That's wacky, all right.
OK, you beat my story of the day. I went to lunch at a BBQ place called Pig & Chik. Fairly famous, been on Food Network and The Travel Channel as one of the best in Atlanta. After I ate, the place was packed and three men came in and couldn't find a table. I said they could have mine and I ended up chatting with one of them for a few minutes. I recognized him right away as "some football coach". I didn't figure out until I got back to the office that he was Dan Reeves, former coach of the Atlanta Falcons (& Dallas Cowboys). That was pretty random. Kinda wish I'd figured out who he was when I was actually talking to him. LOL!
Here he is with the despicable Michael Vick...

Hey guys, I'm on the road again. This time purely a private trip, visiting a friend in Kopenhagen (that's Denmark, for the geographically challenged). Really looking forward to it. I'm gonna be back home Monday night. Not sure I'm gonna have a lot of chances to be online this weekend, though I do know that Steffi has internet in her apartment.
My plane should be boarding in about 20 minutes and right now I'm thankful for free WiFi that I'm snagging outside the British Airways business lounge.

Saw them on Facebook. Great stuff as always.
I saw tonight that we're getting a new Caribbean Cafe about a mile from my house. I'm excited. Hope they have some Cuban on the menu!

I got back from Chicago last night. I went up there to do mission work. It was very tiring. Friday I went around touring the city. I am still tired from last week. I only got about 4 hours of sleep every night.
