I'm really hung up on this song right now.  They keep playing it on XM radio and I can't get it out of my head. Nutty video...

I like their first album best, actually. The later ones not so much. I think we even used that album in Butterflies, didn't we?

Yeah, you did.  In the "November" chapter, I think.  I think he also watched the movie "Sweet November" in that one, too.  He had the turbo blues!

Re: "... like without too much singing." ::: Our Music Thread

There's a controversy though.  AT&T gave out phones at some event and helped people text for Kris.  The results are in question.  Not that it really matters, like you said.  Most of the runners-up have sold more records than the winners.

You know what's funny?  I have no idea who actually won BGT because all anyone's talking about is that Susan DIDN'T win.  OK, so who DID?

Re: "... like without too much singing." ::: Our Music Thread

Ok i have finally gotten around to reading this whole thread and i am kinda disappointed that not one Australian band was mentioned. Well actually "Men at work - Land down under" is but hey that was a random mention right at the beginning about the #1 song on your birthday. Mine for the record is Kiss - Prince. I think i have very similar tastes to TeeJay, and the others that agreed with her too. Curious though...what do you think of Seether?? I absolutely love them. Plus i have seen Linkin Park live a couple of times and whoa that was awesome! Also seen Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger twice and that was amazing fun.

Just putting it out there, cos if you didnt know by now I am a very proud Australian. Let me know what you think. I have posted a couple of links to bands that are;

Australian alternative rock

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Q0xFS- … re=related - Karnivool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aQHZQuf … re=related - Birds of Tokyo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9Mds71SxR8 - Butterfly Effect
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEkmDlQL … re=related - 28 Days

Dance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmM2Rwlx … re=channel - The Presets
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZzA00JjOkg - PNAU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmM2Rwlx … re=channel - Empire Of The Sun

Rock

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QskZwT1psEc&feature=fvst - The Living End
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWvdKPpVWzw&feature=fvst - Wolfmother
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmWkgZ-b … re=channel - Spiderbait
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Z0XvexD6Q - The Superjesus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vYrWaSt … re=related - Killing Heidi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP3OBFP9QYU - ACDC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QZOLxRhKA4 - Children Collide

Soft Rock

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBYX3_-k7dc - Pete Murray
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6QsjtIoj8E - Jet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ov1bR8nv … re=related - The Whitlams
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NN7D6G6uQI - Powderfinger
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdF98W-O … re=related - Silverchair

Dont get me wrong, I like music that isnt Australian too. I just have a certain pride that makes me wanna turn you all into fans. There are many many more that i enjoy. But these are bands that i enjoy first and then are proud to say are Australian. Definite preference to what i call lyrical rock. Where its got a hard bass line, got the drums got the noise, but good singing voice. I have seen 7 of these bands live. Grew up literally round the corner from 2 of them, and met another 2.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think!

Well, I dig Wolfmother, AC/DC & Silverchair.  Don't know much else about the ones you mentioned.  But I like a lot of other Australian stuff.

Im not saying that you dont like Australian stuff or that you should like the same as me or anything like that. Im just being pushy smile I think you will like Jet, Deb. They copped a fair bit of flack for being very similiar to the beatles sound, but i reckon they are awesome. That and they grew up in the same suburb only a few streets away from me and were highschool mates with my brother.

Well, right off the bat, I love that Jeff Buckley's so high up on it.  And that it's his version of that song they chose.
