Re: Fanboys

I can't answer that one.  I don't want those awards.  A leetle too sily for my taste.

Glad you enjoyed it, Donna.  Nice to see you.  smile

I didn't know she was in it.  What's her name?

Awwww, what a cute couple...

winter07_celebrity27a.jpg

Hmmm.  Well, either they cut her out or she was one in one of the crowd scenes or something because I don't remember seeing her.  Anyone else...?

Re: Fanboys

Hey Deb, thanks for posting that pic. This past weekend, the 501st suited up to help a local library kick off their Summer Reading Program, and there were 80+ kids alone(Not including parents) that showed up. We took pictures and even signed autographs for the kids..even Jacen(who's 6 yrs old) was dishing out his sig. It was a blast!
I'm up waaay past my bedtime..but I can breakdown which scenes I was in tomorrow. Deb's right about the theater scene...in fact, over half of the people in that scene are from our local Star Wars clubs, or were friends of friends....My nephew is seen sitting right next to me inside the theater when we all start cheering...I was really happy that he made it in the film...even if for only a couple of seconds.
Also, I just wanted to mention, that when Hutch begins walking past the theater line, you can see a man dressed up in a Han Solo costume who is fighting with a lightsaber..His name was Greg Moss and passed away a few months after filming had wrapped..He was a great friend to us in the fanforce & 501st and it's cool to see him in the film as well. smile
I'm trying to remember where Rachel was in the film and I'm drawing a blank. She was constantly on set with Sam during the filming of the movie, plus we hung out with her on several occasions(She is incredibly sweet by the way) --Guess I'll have to go back and watch it again!!

Re: Fanboys

Haha, great story(ies), Sean. I haven't seen the movie a second time yet, but seeing how I missed it by two days when I flew out to Kopenhagen (it stopped showing there last week), I now have a perfectly good reason to watch the DVD again. smile If I spot Rachel, I'll let you guys know.

Re: Fanboys

So glad you got it, Doree! What does the sleeve look like? Is it the same as the DVD cover, only with metallic looking colors? Deb, did yours have a sleeve?

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, mine had a sleeve.  Not that I care one whit about that.  I stuck it away in a folder of other various stuff.  And then fixed my cover on the plastic box.  Doree probably doesn't know anything about my extreme frustration over that cover.

Re: Fanboys

Are you kidding???  Is that the slip cover or the box art, or both?

The art on our DVD is totally different than that.

Re: Fanboys

That's the one.  I HATE that they covered Chris's face on the DVD.  It's an insult to him and to us.  So TeeJay "fixed" that cover.

Re: Fanboys

My slip cover looks like the white cover with the guys and planets as posted above (only Chris wears the silly Chewie mask). Some of the print is metallic on the slip cover. If you got the red 40-year-old Star Wars fan cover, Doree, it indeed appears that you got a special edition. Great, we basically tore one of our legs out to save this movie, and we don't even get any of the special stuff. neutral

Re: Fanboys

I absoulately love the cover that TeeJay made. I would prefer it to what i currently have, but the only problem for me, is that i don't have the quality paper. On mine, it would look like a photocopy.

Re: Fanboys

I don't consider a slip cover with the 40-Year-Old Star Wars Fan art to be all that special.  Doesn't hurt my feelings that they didn't use it on the US DVD.

Re: Fanboys

But at least it's not the cover with the Wookiee Chris that you can't fix properly because it's printed in metallic. I would have liked it better if the slip cover didn't look the same as the inside cover. What's the point of them looking the same??

What's the point of a slip cover to begin with?

Re: Fanboys

That it looks nice when it's well done? That it makes the DVD stand out? I don't know. I thought it looked kinda classy, apart from the fact that Chris's head is covered by the mask.

Re: Fanboys

I'd prefer more extras on the DVD itself --- or maybe some damn marketing --- to a silly, impractical slip cover that I'm just going to discard anyway.

Re: Fanboys

If it's more extras vs. slip cover, then I'll take the extras any day.

Oh, and btw, I wrote to my OV theater in Cologne. They said they're not gonna show Fanboys. A small miracle would have to happen for it to show in Düsseldorf or anywhere else in the area. So there goes my last chance to see it in theaters again. Unless it comes to the UK and I fly out to visit Freddie at that time, but that's unlikely too, especially since I have the DVD now. Shame, I really would have liked to see it on the big screen again with good quality sound (which we didn't really have in LA). Oh well, I guess you can't have everything.
