Yeah, but you're a honest-to-goodness collector, Illinois. I just wanted the damn movie and whatever cool behind the scenes stuff came with it. I honestly didn't really care what the cover was, until they decided to go with one that was out-and-out insulting to us.

I just looked it up on the dvdprofiler program and the only one listed is the Region 1 release.
The movie comes to German theaters in July. I guess the German DVD will come out no sooner than October, probably even later than that. It'd be interesting to see what other DVD covers will look like, though. We'll see them popping up eventually, I guess.
I'm not one to throw away DVD covers or cases either. I was tempted to put my Monty Python's Flying Circus DVDs into different cases because the 13 DVDs are all packaged individually in a normal DVD case and they take up so much space on my shelf. I would never throw away the original covers or the cardboard display box that came with it, though.

I usually dont care either way for slip covers other then they are annoying to keep taking on and off. Bah. I liked the special features. Also in Canada there was tons of marketing on tv for the release. ON monday i saw the commercial for the dvd at least 20 times in 2 hours:P I was like eeeee soon!!
I think honestly the coolest dvd thingy i have ever gotten extra was my monkees dvds.
Both season 1 and 2 come in a box thats shaped like a record player. Its so funky! and its great too because there are soo many dvds.

Okay, here we go... SURPRISE! The German release date of Fanboys was......... pushed back. Yay! (Not.) July 30th now.

Of course I'm going to watch the DVD! A small miracle would have to happen for me to see it on the big screen again in English, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up. It's just that I have a million other things to do, and watching Fanboys isn't exactly at the top of my list right now.
Oh, and apparently the other deleted scenes were prepared for the DVD but the Weinsteins didn't use them. If they decide to do a different DVD release in the future, they might be on that version.

I was just hoping we'd get to see some screencaps in the not too distant future.

I bet they have some kind of automated thingie. It looks like virtually every frame. I don't see how anyone could do that manually. Not exactly what I was hoping for. But I'll try looking through them tonight --- if I can find the patience --- and see if they managed to capture the particular Chris shots I'm looking for. That'll only take about 50 million years, but whatever. I guess it's the best we're gonna get.

Of course I'm gonna make Chris-focussed screencaps eventually, I'm just not sure when I'll get around to it. Chris has a LOT of exposure in the movie, I kinda doubt I'll have the patience to cap all his scenes in one go. Plus I need to watch the movie again first.

The theatrical tally is wrong, Illinois. Kyle told me last week that TWC stopped updating the screens and the box office with boxofficemojo.com & other sites on April 23. He's very pissed off at them for this. It is still expanding and still moving into new markets overseas.

Okay, so finally I got around to watching the movie on DVD. And, jeez, Chris did it again and made me cry. The campfire scene is really beautifully done. I honestly enjoyed the serious moments more than the comedy, and I really wish they could have fleshed that out more. It would be so interesting to see the original cut.
The recut scenes kinda annoyed me, not because they were badly done, but, as a Chris fan and Fanboys devotee, you really notice the difference in appearance--most of all Chris and Dan. I so wish the William Katt scene could have stayed. And from all the stills I've seen, I think there was more material that had better stayed in there.
I really tried to pay attention to whether I would be able to make out Sean in the scenes I knew he was in. But the only time I really was sure I saw him was the theater scene. All in all, I still enjoyed the movie a lot. However, without all the messing about with the different cuts, I firmly believe the movie could have been better.
R.I.P., original cut. You were missed even before you were taken from us.

Speaking of the original cut, I deleted the linus_must_die community a few days ago. Don't know if anyone has/would have noticed. Someone kept messaging me about why it was still "running" when the idea was moot. After about five messages I just got sick of them and deleted the community.

Yep, I agree with you there, TeeJay. It could've been way better, especially for us. But I still love it anyway.

Sorry if it's been asked before, but just wondering where in the movie is Sam Huntingtons wife? It's driving me insane.
Could she maybe be the (first) blond girl, driving the convertible? You know, the scene where Windows holds up the sign "Flash if you like Wookiees". It's kinda hard to tell, though, if you've only seen her on one photo.

Chris made me cry in Fanboys too, TJ. Your lucky you got to see the original cut at least once. I never will : [

I wish we saw the origianal cut but, but what we saw was exactly what's on the DVD: the compromise cut. Otherwise I wouldn't be whining about wanting to see the original cut (or maybe whining differently, like that I wish it was on the DVD or something).

It's her. Here is a picture on IMDB of Sam at the premier of Superman Returns with what would seem to be his wife, and it is the same woman. www.imdb.com/media/rm3058473728/nm0403134

Okay, so there's gonna be a Fanboys theatrical screening in the Uptown Theater on July 23... somewhere. I don't know what city, maybe one of you can figure it out: http://www.moviegeekfeed.com/2009/06/he … first.html

DFW mean Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Which is great because Dallas was clammoring for it. So many people bitched on IMDb that it wasn't playing there. I'll post this on IMDb. Nice find!
