Re: The Invisible

We've got a German title for the movie: Unsichtbar. Which in English means "invisible", but not as a noun but as an adjective. The direct translation would have been "Der Unsichtbare", which sounds a little stupid. "Unsichtbar" sounds okay to me for this movie. Nice.

However, I found the info that German release date is not June 21 anymore but August 30. Great. sad At this rate, we might have the DVD earlier than the German theatrical release. I hate pushbacks!

PS: Wanna see the trailer dubbed into Russian? Hilarious! http://www.nevidimiy.ru/

Re: The Invisible

Yeah, sounds about right. That damn news totally ruined my day. And here I thought that I might get to see Chris in theaters again in June. Fat chance. So it's gonna be another four months of you having to hold back, Deb. Because you won't be able to talk to me about the movie before I've seen it.

And you know what sucks even more? If we do get Chris for another interview after the movie's come out, I won't listen to it before August either.

Re: The Invisible

Well, if it doesn't break the bank, maybe the DVD will come out in June or July.  That'll help a little.  You know, it really sucks that we're running this website together and we can't even talk about the damn movies with each other.

Re: The Invisible

I'd totally wear that T-Shirt! LOL
But yeah, it's not that funny. I also hate pushbacks! I wanna see that movie! English, with subtitles please. but I doubt this is gonna happen anywhere near I live. I'll probably wait (ages) until the DVD's out. I mean, I'm going to buy it anyway, so why wasting money to see it in theaters? Although I REALLY WOULD LIKE to see Chris on the big screen once. <sigh> roll

Yeah, tell me about it!! But I don't see that changing unless we can find a way to get our hands on all of Chris's movies at the same time, preferably before they come to the theaters. Meaning it's not gonna happen. Guess we'll just have to live with it.

Re: The Invisible

I know.  Just stating the obvious because I feel bad for you guys.  I wish there was a way around it, but I don't see one.  Unless we could figure out how to get into a focus group or something.  Or we just keep trying to make friends with Chris's directors and producers.

Yeah, that sucks pretty much. But I don't see that changing either. I mean, look at me, I even still need the stupid subtitles. At least sometimes. roll

Re: The Invisible

When it rains, it pours. And I mean that in a good way. Not only did we get awesome Fanboys trailer screencaps today, Rosenkratz on IMDb also posted that they now have a featurette about the movie online. You can see it here:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchston … video.html

Chris can be seen in three shots, of course I made caps. smile He's not interviewed and doesn't get to say anything, but at least we get some eye candy. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like this movie a lot.

And it might be that the person in the front of this shot is also him. Actually I'm pretty sure that it is, it's the same guy with the baseball hat behind him than in one of the pictures at the top. I didn't put it in our gallery, though.

Re: The Invisible

TeeJay, can you save the featurette and put it on the server so I can download it and play it from my hard drive?  As usual, my computer does not want to play it over the 'net.  It hates Quicktime.  Almost crashed when the thing got caught in a loop and I couldn't get the tab to close. roll

I really wanna see that thing.  But hey, at at least I can look at the lovely caps in the meantime.  tongue

Re: The Invisible

This one's my favorite:
TheInvisible_Featurette_05.jpg

Very intense.  The guy in the ugly trucker hat has a gun.  I wonder if this was the scene Goyer and Chris were referring to.  You know, where someone's holding a gun on Pete, but Goyer had to take out any shots of the gun pointed at him to get the PG-13.

What pic do you guys like from this set?

Re: The Invisible

I like this one a lot:

TheInvisible_Featurette_04.jpg

He's got that intense thing going, kinda like James in Huff, but not as menacing. I love that he's playing this dark, broody guy here, it's gonna be something we've not seen before from him, I think. No wonder he said it was one of the most depressing times in his life when he shot that movie. All that rain and darkness, and then the dark subject matter of the movie itself. Awwww. Re: The Invisible

I'll upload it when I get home. I guess I could make a WMV version for you since you both seem to have problems with Quick Time. I like it QT a lot because the picture and audio quality is always great, but I don't like that they often play jerky and sluggishly, especially when you don't have a computer with a fast processor and graphics card. The QT file didn't play that smoothly on Neo, even though he's more than twice as fast as Deb's computer...

Re: The Invisible

Well, I am currently not able to use my WMP, because as you know, my brother did that thing with our computer and now it's somehow damaged, but I guess as soon as I found the source of that problem and can repair it, I will hopefully be able to enjoy the WMV's again.

Do you have the VLC player installed on your system? That one can play WMV files too.

No, I haven't. Does the DivX player work too? I don't want to have 1001 different players on that POS maschine, my brother always gets upset about this.

Girl, you have NO idea.  When you see this movie, you're going to be knocked out because you're right, he does things in this that we've NEVER seen him do.  And you're going to instantly understand why he found it so depressing shooting this thing --- I mean beyond what Tisha said about what the family was going through at the time.

God, I can't wait to see this movie!

Re: The Invisible

I just realized something. If I'm gonna fly to the US at the end of August/beginning of September, I won't be able to watch The Invisible in the theater when it comes on in Germany (release date August 30). And what with me not wanting to see it dubbed, it might be that the English version won't be shown anymore when I get back. If it's screened in English anywhere in the first place. Hmpf. But I'd still take seeing Fanboys in the theater over The Invisible. Why did they have to go and move the German TI release date forward???? Grrrrr! But, who knows, maybe the US DVD will be available by then...

And why is it that we don't get any Chris movies for years, and suddenly, this year, I have problems catching them in the theaters because the schedule is really messed up?

Re: The Invisible

You're not gonna watch TI in the theater? You really should! I'm kinda hoping it'll be one of the bigger movies over here, so that it'll stay in the original version theaters for at least two weeks. If that ain't happening, I guess there's always the DVD and my friend's boyfriend with the beamer and Dolby Surround setup. smile

Re: The Invisible

Don't know yet. I mean, probably no money, no friends, no big theatres near here which will show it (I don't think it'll be shown around here) ... and I can't travel to Chibi's AGAIN. I hope it works with Alpha Dog. I need to ask her about that again.

You really need to learn to go to the theater by yourself, girl. I'll be your sugar momma if you can't pay for it yourself. smile Let me know. But end of August is a long time to go anyway.
